1. The freedom & fear; In society we have the freedom to do anything but we also fear to do some things. We are able to do what we want in any way we feel like but doing it the right way.
2. I think everything usually uses pictures from anywhere and don’t give credit to where it originally comes from. I think just by giving credit to that person it will be okay to copyright things.
3. The license I used was LyricFind because for this activity I need the the lyrics of the songs and used them for my remix.
4. It was pretty cool doing this remix, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do until I did it and figured out what I wanted to do. I basically picked out 2 songs from Ariana grande and on picked up every 4th word from each and combined it together and made a poem. I was surprised but it kind of made sense but it didn’t at the same time but it was really cool to do.

E. EC Feedback
1. What did you think of the format of the class?
I honestly really enjoyed the flow of the class and how it was planned. The only thing I didn’t like was having to go every week to have a conversation with an artist. I thought it was too much work to do because not only did we have to write a few paragraphs we also had to do an activity the same week. It was a lot of writing and it ruined the fun of art. Overall, I really enjoyed doing the activities, I found the create side of me.
2. What did you think of making and presenting your Art Gallery?
The art gallery was very interesting because I got to know about some artist, and I was able to meet new people. The only thing I didn’t like was the website, I feel like a simple google slides will be better since everyone is able to use it all at once. Presenting it was okay, I don’t really mind presenting but overall this project was something nice to do and easy to learn about artist.
3. What did you think of visiting theSOA Art Galleries?
Visiting the SOA art galleries was fun at first and very exciting because it was very interesting knowing the different reasons of why some artist are inspired to do art. I enjoyed looking at art and getting to know upcoming artist from CSULB.
4. What did you think of the weekly art activities?
I really liked doing the week art activities, but it brought out the creative side I thought I never had. I also learned new things I didn’t know before like plastering I didn’t know how it easy it was to do and cheap! It was so convenient doing all this activities and turning it in with just a picture and a brief explanation.
5. What did you think of the 7 ideas about art?
Talking and learning about the 7 Ideas about art in class was cool.  It is nice to think about these things in our times and what I noticed was that there as a lot of comparing your time and our time, which there is a lot of difference but also, we are alike but not so much. Doing the activities for it was really eye opening and fun also not to mention took a lot of hard work as in thinking what to do and just getting all my ideas to make sense of what I will be turning in was really hard for me to do.
6. How did you feel about using Tumblr for your blog?
I really enjoyed using Tumblr for my blog because I think it very satisfying to have here just for me to see and others to enjoy my art work. I just loved the idea of posting the assignments here rather than beach board because then we can always come back to them and see what we did. Also, the pictures to have here as memories of what cool things we did in class, I was able to show my work to my parents and let them know what I did for this class.
7. How did you feel about using Wix for your virtual art gallery?
I honestly did not like Wix, I disliked this website because in order to click something you had to press edit then press whatever you wanted to add, I was able to just drag and place. I also didn’t like how only one person was able to edit it at a time. I would recommend using google slides it is easy and very convenient to use.
8. What did you think of using the class website instead of beachboard?
It was very confusing at first because using a website besides beachbaord was different but then I got used to it because the assignment we had to do had visual examples and a good explanation of how to do it.
9. What did you think about having no tests? I don’t just mean “was it cool to not have to take any,” but students use tests to guide their study and participation in a class. Students tend to learn what’s on the test, and to not learn anything that isn’t. Did not having exams make it harder to focus or find importance and relevance in the class?
Honestly having all the weekly assignments made of for it and also all the other activities as well because we still got to learn. We all did the research; we all went to go talk to the artist and we all did our work of arts.
10. Any other thought?
Besides everything else I said, I enjoyed this class. It was straight forward, and I was looking forward for the activities we had each week.

D7- Artist Conversation
Artist: Andrea Rascol
Exhibition: Prologue
Media: Oil on Canvas
Gallery; LBSU School of Art, Max L. Gato Gallery
Website: N/A
Instagram: andreascol
Andrea is currently a Senior at Cal State Long Beach. She is getting her BFA in painting and is trying her best to get her Masters of Fine arts after she graduates. Andrea is inspired by here everyday expereinces. Art is her way to express herself.
In Andreas art she uses a lot of shades of different colors. She uses various media of art which is acrylic paint, oil, ink and soft pastels. The majority of her lunes are straight and sharp. Her art is large in which you are able to see the details in her art. Andrea also uses a lot of pastel colors and a lot of black and white with shades in between.
Practically, her art is pretty much television based. She creates a larger image on what she sees on television and makes it her own. She uses a variety of colors and makes them stand out and somewhat of a scream.
I really enjoyed looking at Andrea’s art, it was really interesting. It really got my attention because her sense of style and her aesthetic is very much similar to mine. I feel like you can get the message of how it’s related to television and what is happening.

Artist: Ashley Rhyne
Exhibition: Kalopsia BFA Senior Show
Media: Animation and Illustration
Gallery: LBSU School of Art
Website: http://ashleyrhyne.com
Instagram: pretending_its_paris
Ashley is a senior undergraduate who is attending CSULB. She is in the School of Art Program here at CSULB and it working with illustrations and creating animations, which is her specialty. She is inspired by her visit to Greece and the Greek Culture.
The artwork she put in her gallery was illustrations and animations. She mostly used yellow, blue, red. Most of her artwork were medium size, they weren’t too big nor too small. In her first illustration you had to really get a close of look because the details were so small for you to look at they from far away. In the second illustration she had an orange background with gold and black and it looked good together, which caught my attention of how nice it was.
Since she took her inspiration from her visit to Greece and the Greek culture she actually took a art history class before going to learn a little more about Greece which made really want to go. Her exact words “it was love at first sight” she needed to go to Greece and see for herself how amazing it was. As soon as she went she loved it so much she had to go again and she did 3 times. She came back inspired. She also drew whatever inspired her.
This gallery really caught my attention. I loved all the colors she used. By her telling me how she loved Greece I saw why she loved it so much in her artwork. Also her business cards where in Greek letters which was so cute. Her inspiration was so amazing, I could literally see it and how she talks about Greece, seems like she was in love! This was one of my favorite gallery.

I chose to capture some pictures of my weekend in Michoacán, Mexico. My family and I came on a small vacation. I took pictures of some of my favorite things I saw and how much I was amazed by. I think by taking this pictures meant that my family have a strong faith in god. We all came on this trip to see the Cathedral there was so much we were all grateful for and we needed time to thank god for everything. The pictures that tells my story is the family one and the one where Jesus and the virgin come out in because it shows that my family is together and we are giving thanks to god because we are praying (reason of candles). I think all the posted up connect together. Next time I would add more family pictures . This is the only story that I can tell with these pictures but I have many more to tell with others. This photos show alittle bit of my family and our beliefs.

D5 Architecture & urban planning
I chose to redesign the USU Wedge because thats a place I walk through everyday and I would really like to change it. The way I’m designing it is taking out the blackish gray way and making the the walk way and moving the bench somewhere else so it won’t block the way to walk. I find that wall useless because it’s just there. It will be better this way because there will be a wider walking space and people won’t have to crowd in or wait for people to pass through the wedge. I highly think the students would really like this new access route because I myself go through the crowded wedge and it gets annoying since everyone wants to go through there and with the black wall not being there, there will be an expanded area to walk through and the students will love this new improvement.

Art Essay #5
Artist: Daniela Barbani
Media: printmaking
Gallery: LBSU school of art
Website: danielabarbani.com
Instagram: artinthemachine
Daniela Bargain is a graduate student who is getting her MFA from CSULB. She received her bachelors at Azusa Pacific University for drawing and painting. She obtained her masters from CSUN in printmaking.
Daniela art is expressed through projections of cars. She uses the outline of a cougar, the picture inside the cougar portrays z street with cars zooming by. The colors she uses is sky blue and brown. In the background she has loud noises playing throughout the gallery.
Her main focuses is the idea that the wildlife is in danger. By doing this, Daniela takes videos or pictures of the freeway in LA to show the danger that is going on with wildlife. She is letting others know things through her art, if change doesn’t happen then the LA Cougars will face extinction. She is pointing this out so we can know the issue that wildlife has and is hoping to promote change in LA through her art.
I found this gallery very creative and interesting because she simple used an animal and inside it she projected a video of some kind of issue which was so cool because it caught my attention. Since that is what she’s aiming for, she is doing it right. This gallery had me thinking about things that happen around me that I didn’t really care about but now I have an open eye on the wild life around me.

Artist: Charlie Roses
Exhibition: Dead Man’s Party
Media: sculpture, printmaking, illustration, photography
Gallery: LBSU School of Art
Instagram: @charlieroses
Charlie Roses is currently in his last semester here at CSULB, who is working towards his BFA as a sculpture major. He said he has been drawing since he was two and had ever since. He was explored many different types of art and since he started college he developed his art into what is seen now. His art is mainly made of watercolor, ink, illustrations, and sculpture.
I was amazed by his gallery because it was horror theme and since Halloween was coming up it made it seem very interesting and it fit perfect into the spooky season. There were paintings, sculptures, and many other forms of art. The theme colors were often dark colors, the pieces of art were all different sizes from small to big to medium sizes.
I think the theme Charlie chose was because he was maybe into horror things and very into the Halloween season. Charlie said his work was cinematography based and he gets his inspirations from horror movies and also by retro photography from the 1920’s.
To conclude, I thought Charlie’s gallery was fun to look at and since it was horror it got me into the Halloween season even more which was perfect. Also, the the gallery wasn’t all about scary things there were also some cute things that seems very inspirational. This was a great gallery I enjoyed.

I chose to do a painting because paint is messy and. I love having a hands on activity. The meaning of this painting is that there are many pathways you can take and you are able to chose any way you want to go. I myself lead my own way either I want to go there or here or maybe even go back and for others I want them to know that you are able to take any path you want, you are able to decide on your own. I think my work was successful but people might see it in a different way. I wouldn’t do anything different because I liked the outcome of my final work.

Artist: Christopher Suarez
Exhibition: Anaheim to Avalon
Media: Ceramics
Gallery: Werby Gallery, CSULB
Instagram: toe_fair
Christopher Suarez is currently a senior at CSULB, who is working towards his Bachelor of Fine Art in ceramics. He is a twenty-four-year-old who enjoys playing sports and doodle. Suarez draws from experiences he had when he was younger. He mainly works in ceramics; he replicates things he sees.
Most of Suarez pieces contain a metallic color which was grey or brown. All his work where all different sizes from small as plates to book sizes and some as big as a person. While looking at his work I see triangles squares, and many other things. Suarez is trying to recreate pieces that remind him of his childhood. Because of his pieces being handmade all his pieces are rough so there is no perfect lines or angles.
Suarez’s work consists from Long Beach to Wilmington, most of his inspirations are from his childhood memories. Also, Chris’s artwork consists of love, family history, and intimacy. Some of his work includes small drawings. In order to complete an art. Piece, it takes Suarez about 5 months to make one.
Overall, I had a good experience looking at his gallery. I felt that the labor work pieces he had was a big part of Mexican culture. His art showed the area and culture from Long beach to Wilmington. I really enjoyed looking at his art, it was very diverse and I kinda felt connected to his art and I was able to see what his story in his work consisted of.
