NATE & NOAH:
it was a late night, and noah found himself at his regular place on such hours, sitting down at his regular corner by the bar counter. the nights were a lot longer now with a killer on the loose, and the sheriff often found himself needing a small break with just a few glasses of whiskey… the bar was nearly empty that night and so he raised a brow when a figure walked in and approached the bar counter as well. “and here i thought they’d be closing just on me…”
It had been more difficult each day for Nate to fall asleep. Why? He couldn’t exactly tell you for he didn’t know what was hidden behind his own conscious in his mind. Usually things like this never bothered him, but with still being somewhat new in this town, he liked to keep his guard up a little bit longer. So with the hours dragging on by and his phone continuing to stay silent, he dragged himself to the bar for, only, one drink. “Ah, well when the night drags on, you can only read so much before the letters start to blur together.”

NATE & ANNABELLE:
annie hadn’t felt the urge to smoke in years, yet there she was, sat at the bar of the broken elk alternating between drags of her cigarette and sips of her beer. but who could really blame her with all that was going on in town and everything that had transpired with jo ––––– was god ever going to give them a freaking break ?? tapping her foot against the barstool, annabelle idly acknowledged the song playing on the jukebox, but instead of humming along she exhaled a plume of smoke and enjoyed the rush of nicotine. she did, however, pay attention to the person coming to claim the seat next to her. ❛ i’m just warnin’ ya, if you choose to sit there you might be roped into doing shots with me … or at very least, drivin’ me home after i’ve done shots. ❜
It was a habit he supposed, going into the bar once or twice a week for just a casual drink before heading his way back home. Nothing he really thought of it, simply because he changed out of his work attire into something more casual. Yes, it did take him awhile to figure out the feel of this little town he now called home and even more so it took his pride a step down into clothes that were more comfortable and less flashy like he had earlier.
As he sat down, Nathan was momentarily paused from his internal thinking of the day with a voice. A teasing voice, thank god. “Shots, huh? You celebrating something or...” A short quick pause as he noticed the cigarette loosely gripped between her fingers. “Just enjoying a quiet night?”

{ HENRY GOLDING, MALE, HE/HIM } Way out here in The Ozarks, I’d never expect to find NATHAN LEE, the THIRTY-FIVE year old POLICE OFFICER at the VERITAS SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT. On the afternoon of September 4th, HE was AT HOME ON THE PHONE WITH HIS WIFE but I’m not sure I believe a word they say. ( PEACH, 24, EST, SHE/HER )
Nathan Lee is the oldest son to his parents, Ahkam and Ginger Lee. His parents met while they were in New York -- his father on a business trip and his mother the hotel maid who worked at the hotel he was staying in. From there, it was never a dull moment for the business his father was currently in (mafia stuff).
Nathan never really thought he was going to join the business like his father did simply because he had found himself going to the police academy. But little did he know, this was all planned between his family and the others. They needed someone on the inside and it turned out little Nate was going to be just that.
He has moved from police departments throughout the years, more so he doesn’t exactly get caught, but because the lady he thought he loved had an actress job which caused her to move every time the press had become too overwhelming.
He has only been in town for two years at the most and normally tries to keep to himself though he does have his guilty pleasures and will amuse himself with chatter around town if it needs to be done. He wears a mask normally around everyone here (really so he doesn’t get caught but it’s also second nature now) and tries to just do his job like he should.
The murders have gotten him more intrigued than he should be and sometimes goes snooping where he shouldn’t, but with the lie of working on the case who could really stop him?
And now the best fun fact for last, there’s a rumor around his name and in the gossip magazines that he murdered his wife before he moved here. He was proven innocent, but some say otherwise. Maybe she’s purposely keeping herself out of the spotlight or maybe he has something to do with it.
