AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON [UI Reel] from Ernex on Vimeo.
This is a bit of a childhood dream come true. Since I got hooked up in the comic-book world, I always dreamt of getting to work for Marvel someday. Never truly believed it possible, since my drawing skills were far from jaw-dropping to be honest, but hey, looks like somehow I made it.
As usual, it was a pleasure working again with Territory and its bunch of talented motion graphics craftsmen. I was lucky enough to be involved in the first visual explorations during the preproduction stages and to get to design and animate a big chunk of the screens later on, and I’m quite happy and proud of the final result.

SPECTRE - UI Reel from Ernex on Vimeo.
UI screen graphics for the Bond movie SPECTRE. Screens designed and animated at Rushes London, along with a great team of artists.
Tasked with bringing a great level of realism to the MI6 technology, the team researched the emerging field of nanorobotics and the latest military and medical thinking, to create technically accurate graphics that lead to a heightened sense of authenticity. Rushes crafted technology, UI systems and tools that expressed Q’s various 007 gadgets in digital form. Banks of monitors showed these schematics in Q’s lab. An even greater number of screens were used in SPECTRE villain Oberhauser’s lair, to display various and complex analytical data infographics and adapted news footage. Telekom "Eins" - commercial (2014) from Stephan Haidacher on Vimeo.
created by Optix 2014(C) ( optixhamburg.de )
I was responsible for defining the shots, cameras and the overall look (pretty much like a director of photography, just digitally) I've shaded, lit and (pre)comped every shot, and added additional particle effects. The triangle assembly simulation used in every shot was created by Sebastian Kowalski using Houdini. The final compositing was handled by Christoph Schroeer. .

The Guardian
The Guardian is a free interpretation of the parable "Before the Law" from Kafka's book "The Trial". A peasant after traveling the world arrives in front of a gate, controlled by a fearsome Guardian. The peasant tries to pass through but the Guardian denies him entrance. Peasant and Guardian are the same character, the peasant, like each one of us, in front of his own fear; the guardian, something shapeless, that surround and control him. the Door/Gate the possibilities we encounter during our life.

ASSASSIN'S CREED - MOTION GRAPHICS REEL from Ash Thorp on Vimeo.
Working on Assassin’s Creed was an immensely rewarding creative experience for me. Being such a big fan of Director Justin Kurzel’s work, it was amazing to be able to immediately establish a great working relationship together. Our mutual trust and open dialogue with one another made this one of my personal favorite feature film projects to date.
