The only clinic in Scotland has decided to pre-comply with recommendations set out in the Cass Review ahead of the Scottish Government’s actual assessment of each recommendation.
Management should be hauled over the fucking coals for that.

JKR's ÂŁ70,000 could have been put towards:
Services for domestic abuse survivors
Funding rape crisis support
Charity childcare
Women's education charities
Support for women refugees
Way more that isn't coming to mind right now
It's never been about helping women

When we see a terf we block and don’t engage. In theory that’s great - leaves them without an audience, saves us from accidentally helping them recruit.
In practice things are less than optimal. You see some feminism 101 take like “bitch is a slur” and your hackles go up. Go on OP’s blog and there’s a bunch of posts about women’s rights. That could be a red flag - I don’t have all day to vet this person. Better not reblog, just to be safe.
What is the effect on the tumblr ecosystem? Feminist posts with any teeth at all can never go viral in this atmosphere! Any discussion of surrogacy more nuanced than “it is an individual choice” will get no engagement; only the most milquetoast sentiments can prevail.
I don’t have a solution. I just want to point out that the atmosphere of (justified) paranoia has set feminism on this website back 20 years.

raising little girls on the belief that a well-mannered gentleman will sweep them off their feet and treat them like a queen all while boys are being raised on porn and cartel execution videos is truly some nasty work

“My reporting on stalking began in 2018, when I launched a national anti-stalking campaign, Unfollow Me, at my former employer Vice, in partnership with the stalking advocacy service Paladin. Using freedom of information laws, I found that more than 60 women had been murdered by stalkers in a three-year period, despite having reported them to the police.
Alice Ruggles, Shana Grice, Molly McLaren. I cannot forget their names. Their last moments haunt me. How Ruggles’ ex-boyfriend slashed her throat with a knife as she cowered from him in her bathroom. How McLaren’s ex-boyfriend stabbed her 75 times in a car park in broad daylight. How Grice’s ex-boyfriend subjected her to unthinkable terror in the months before her death – he let himself into her house and watched her sleeping – before murdering her, and setting fire to her body. All three women reported their stalkers to police, who did next to nothing. Grice, unbelievably, was fined by Sussex police for wasting police time. It’s been six years now, and all I see is the same police apologies and hand-wringing. Nothing has changed.
What I believe underpins all of this is a rich seam of misogyny. Men – and it is mostly men who are stalkers, although of course they can be victims too – who feel entitled to women’s time, their attention, their bodies and sometimes even their lives. And police forces that regard women as time-wasters and their complaints as histrionics, for objecting to this. Stalking victims deserve to live in safety and peace. Right now, as a society, we are failing them.”

The "sexual revolution" has expanded the range of sexual activities that women are expected to perform to please men. Female sexual pleasure is disdained, female sexual performance is praised. We are encouraged to ignore our comfort and dignity. Wanting to be treated with respect and affection is a sign that you are sexually repressed. The greatest victory of male depravity.

You can rehabilitate a thief, anyone could be driven to thievery. You can rehabilitate a murderer, anyone could be driven to murder. You can't rehabilitate a rapist, because there is no excuse and no sort of justification for a rapist. No one is driven to commit sexual assault.
A rapist is no different than someone who kills and tortures small animals. Not all evil can be justified and forgiven.

i think theres too much analysis about why women like true crime.. maybe some women like it because they feel like it validates their fears or bc they want to know how to avoid becoming a victim, okay whatever. but mostly women like it because it's shocking and vulgar and scary. a lot of true crime involves relationships and mysteries too. women like fucked up creepy stories... who knew

This probably sounds like I'm a hater, but being around hyper feminine women has really damaged my self esteem.
I feel bad because they're just women who've fallen victim to the patriarchy. It almost seems dumb and shallow that I want distance from them.
It's just hard when you want to go out with your friends and they spend an hour doing makeup, while you just spent 20 minutes that morning to get all fresh and ready for the day. Or when you go to a restaurant with them, being one of the few without a flat stomach+thigh gap, and you slurp down your big ramen bowl while they say things like "omg this is so much food, I could swim in this bowl, this is almost too much for even two people. Or when you see them take a ton of selfies with the other feminine women in the group and only a few with you, later you see their "girl's night out" post and you're only in one picture. Or when you're exchanging stories about your sex lives and you say that you don't like doing a common sex act and they shame you and say it's something you have to do. Or when you laugh too loud or say something in a confident tone and they all look at you in silence, as if you're weird.
All these things, make me feel like I'm wrong. Like a woman who wasn't programmed right. I've even fallen back into shaving and dieting because I hate feeling so weird.
This year I'm working on returning to my old radfem ways... Even if it means being a bit lonelier
