First journey of E91 electric multiple unit (1936)
E91 (After the war named EW51 according to PKP classification system) electric multiple unit was the first "emu" produced in Poland. It was designed to service the newly electrified suburban railway lines leading from Pruszków to Warszaw and from Warsaw to Otwock. The photo was taken December 15th 1936 on the inaugural journey through the newly electrified axis tunnel. It was the second fully electric line in Poland (First being joint-stock company light rail EKD).
