The thing with self improvement that's simultaneously so obvious yet somehow so undervalued and overlooked is this, self improvement is about your SELF.
Heres the thing my love- no one is coming. No one is coming to save you. No one is coming to learn French for you. No one is coming to write that business plan for you. No one is coming to save up that capital for you. No one is coming to learn cooking for you. No one is coming to set routines for you. No one is coming to unlearn your shame for you. No one is learning personal finance for you no one will stand up for you no one can go to therapy for you no one will chase your dreams for you no one. No one is coming. No one.
& your relationships are failing because you keep expecting your partners to. You keep expecting your friends to do communication and conflict resolution for you. You keep expecting your partner to sit back and understand all your bs because YoU aRe tRaUmAtiZeD you keep expecting the people around you to deal with the things you refuse to. Your relationships are failing because you won't take responsibility, you're waiting to be saved.
Theres no salvation. No one is coming. You are responsible for yourself. It's SELF improvement. The best thing you can do is to learn to take responsibility for yourself and the things you want, love, because no one will. You're on your own, kid. If you don't, no one will.
Proactivity is the name of the game.
Youre on your own, kid. No one is coming, you're on your own. If you don't, no one will.

Teeth on edge
Rocked by the last dose
Breathing off rhythm
And
Sporadic
Constantly mocked by a desultory life
Everybody knows i'm going nowhere
Providing nothing to the community but my hecatomb of shame
As pure decisions elude me
Unable to hide from my depraved nature
At times
I fear I am capable of vile actions
Stooping beneath the branches of morality
I only grow sicker

ItGirl Reminder 🎀
 𓂅 ˚ ⋆ ⟡ 𓂅 ˚ ⋆ ⟡ 𓂅 ˚
don’t go back and forth with anyone online. if someone is mean, rude or bothering you in any way just block them and go on with your day. they want that rise out of you so don’t give it to them. arguing with someone + getting upset = lowering your vibrations & taking away your peace of mind. you shouldn’t allow anyone to get under your skin and ruin your vibe. let miserable people be miserable by themselves! you are a beautiful person with a beautiful soul and beautiful energy to match, don’t let anyone in this world ever take that away from you.

my honest, best and most fulfilling advice for young girls and women is to not cater to what other men think, need or desire from you. in fact, if you don’t like a man for any reason, be honest with yourself and don’t spend time around him if he makes you uncomfortable in any way. if possible, set as many boundaries as you desire. block and do what you must. you’re not here to coddle a man’s feelings.
from a very early age i was taught to smile and be polished, make myself small (as small as i could) so a man would enjoy my presence. i didn’t listen to my intuition when a man showed red flags and i wish i did.
listen to you. to your voice and other girls’ voices. the male gaze is not at all important or defining of your worth, talents and accomplishments. if a man bothers you or harms you in any way, do not be silent! you are allowed to take up space. you are your own human being and not an extension of his judgment.
(terfs/transphobes/creeps: do not interact)

hey uh. don't listen to the people who say the bullying won't matter once you get out of school. because shit. it will.
bullying is peer abuse. it's traumatizing. and while getting out of the environment helps, the hurt doesn't go away. all the things ingrained in you don't go away. just because your bullies might not be in your life doesn't mean the awful things they did to you don't matter. they are still very significant people in your life.
please don't brush it off. please treat yourself with kindness and fight for the support and safety you deserve. you are not the person your bullies thought you were. you never were. you deserve to be happy and confident, and minimizing what happened won't lead to that.

holistic wellness series: cycle synching
🌱 what is cycle synching?
in short, cycle synching is coordinating your lifestyle habits with the phases of your menstrual cycle.
🌱 benefits of cycle synching
cycle synching can help you optimize energy levels and improve your understanding of your cycle, which, in turn, can boost estrogen levels and even boost fertility. it can also improve your hormone balance overall, which helps ease stress and period symptoms.
the menstrual phase (days ~1-5)
exercise: since the energy is low during this phase, focus on low-impact movement. this can include yoga, walking, and stretching.
food: focus on comforting and easily digested food. soups, decaf tea, veggies (lots of greens!), etc.
the follicular phase (days ~6-14)
exercise: in this phase, energy begins to rise again. great exercise options can include moderate weight lifting or cardio, jogging, swimming, and pilates.
food: light veggies and fruit and lean protein, such as eggs, salmon, poultry (like turkey), and cheese.
the ovulatory phase (days ~15-20)
exercise: energy is the highest in this phase, so high-intensity and sweaty workouts, such as hiit or vigorous weight training are optimal here.
food: lots of fiber and water to support digestion and healthy fats such as fish, nuts, and avocado.
the luteal phase (days ~20-28)
exercise: energy begins to decrease before the cycle repeats. focus on moderate exercise such as bodyweight strength training, pilates, more intense yoga, and cardio.
food: healthy fats and lots of fiber! veggies such as sweet potato and squash, seeds, salmon, and dark chocolate are good options for this time.

How Common is Lean PCOS?
PCOS, or polycystic ovary syndrome, is a relatively common condition that affects women across the world. If you’ve heard of PCOS, you may already know that the condition is caused by ovarian cysts that can affect hormone levels. PCOS also produces side effects like weight gain, and this common complaint among women with PCOS is one of the more challenging aspects of the condition.
What you may not have heard of is lean polycystic ovary syndrome. This is a type of PCOS in which ovarian cysts still cause hormone challenges, but in lean polycystic ovary syndrome, a woman’s weight is not affected.
Is Lean PCOS Less Impactful?
Although lean PCOS does not lead to weight gain, many of the same side effects found in traditional PCOS still affect those with the condition. Oily skin, thinning hair and infertility are healthcare challenges in lean PCOS just like in traditional PCOS. Both conditions are also caused by the same disruption in hormone production and regulation.
Why Does Lean PCOS Matter?
Because these two conditions are virtually identical, you may wonder why there’s even a need to differentiate between them. The issue with lean PCOS is that it can complicate a diagnosis, potentially leading to improper treatment.
As weight gain is a hallmark of traditional PCOS, women with lean PCOS may not be suspected of having the condition. A doctor who meets with a woman suffering from lean PCOS may overlook the other side effects and remove PCOS entirely from their differential diagnosis because weight gain is not present. They may even misdiagnose a woman with a different condition and even prescribe unnecessary medications.
Exercise and Diet Are Still Important
Even though a woman with lean PCOS may not experience weight gain, a proper diet and exercise remain important. Talk to your doctor if you suspect you have lean PCOS, and document your symptoms so you can keep track of changes. This documentation can be helpful if you have lean PCOS as it can direct your physician to the correct diagnosis.
