I know people often joke about how fun it is to shock doctors and be the first time they have ever seen somthing.

But I fucking hate it. It sucks. Anytime a doctor say that I want to cry. Had one with over 30 years of experience who works spesificly with patients who have complex medical needs. Tell me that they had never before seen someone who had the reaction and problem I had. They did not know what to do. I was promised something and I didn't get it. The only person in the over hundred of people they see in a year, for over 30 years, that this has happened to.

You know what that means? It means they have no clue what to do. They don't know how to help because this has never happened before, and they haven't even heard of it happening. I'm fucked until I find a doctor who has any idea why what happened happened and then have to sit on a wait list knowing that there is a chance they dont know whats wrong, that they can't do anything or don't know what to do either.

AITA for calling telling my sister she should get better taste in men and break up with her boyfriend?

Me (14M) and my sister (16F) usually talk about random stuff, usually depending on what we're doing. One day our conversation changes topics to dating when she mentions her new boyfriend. I'm of course curious so i ask about him.

She suddenly drops the bomb that is "He's homophobic, i found that out once i told him i dated a girl, he told me he doesn't 'fuck with that gay shit'."

Mind you she's bisexual, And dating a homophobic dude.

She also tends to aim for older men when looking for a partner, She told me she dated a guy who was 18 once, She also says stuff like "boys my age don't get me!"

I obviously get absolutely shocked by the fact her bf is homophobic, i also reacted very angrily to the "im dating a older dude heehoo!!" thing, but i tried to make sure i didn't come off too aggresive.

When i told her she should absolutely break up with her bf and stop going for older men, she just pulled out the "men my age don't get meee!" And "but he's soo kind!" for her current boyfriend.

I am extremely concerned and extremely disgusted by this, but im keeping it a secret so she doesn't get heckled by our parents, especially our dad since im concerned what he'll do since hes extremely religious and transphobic & homophobic.

Something that really sucks about being disabled is places say that they’re accessible but they aren’t.

I’ve been to places that claim to be accessible where

the ramp’s too steep

there are steps they didn’t mention because “it’s only two or three”

the doorways are too small

there aren’t any elevators to the top floor

the floor is too rough to easily push on

exhibits are displayed in ways that are impossible to see from a wheelchair

the doors don’t have a push button

tables/exhibits are put way too close together

the surrounding paths have no curbs

Without those things, it isn’t accessible. You can’t put a sloped piece of metal on your doorway and call that wheelchair friendly.
