It's FUNNY because supernatural had Dean and Cas do all the things the romantic couples do. Date nights???? Done. Movie nights????? DUH. There was pining and longing. and yearning. They had them BREAK UP. LITERALLY. These two had a divorce arc. They raised a son together. They lost their son and went through a break up.
Dean had a whole ass WIDOWER ARC!!! No really, Dean grieved Cas like a broken widower.
Dean gave Cas a MIXTAPE. He was on his knees asking for forgiveness. Hell, everyone around them implied they were a couple. JOINED AT THE, Y'KNOW, EVERYTHING.
Supernatural had them do all this. Had all of this be done to them. But they never officially called them a couple. Show, not tell.
And because they never outright called them a COUPLE I'm still being called crazy and delusional for seeing them for what they are which is ... a COUPLE

By analyzing the Federal Reserve's Survey of Consumer Finances, CAP found that in 2022, union households held $338,482 in median wealth. Meanwhile, nonunion households had $199,948. Being in a union also substantially chips away at racial and educational wealth gaps, per CAP's analysis. Black, nonunion households have a median household wealth of $61,500; meanwhile, Black union households hold around $164,6000 in median household wealth. Black workers are also more likely than workers of other races to be in a union, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, with their union membership rates outpacing their white, Asian, and Hispanic counterparts. Unions particularly pay off for workers without a high school degree and again seem to be bridging educational wealth gaps, per the data. The median wealth of union members without a high school degree is over three times that of nonunion workers without a high school degree — $69,510 compared to $22,800 respectively.
Unions work, Unionize.

the fact that the episode was originally called the truth is SO fucking damning to me like why? why change it? why would you want the title to shift so far in tone if nothing in the episode was severely changed? its not like “the truth” has less emotional weight than “despair”, theyre just different in tone. and the fact that the mexican/latam dub was aired as the truth and had the added line of reciprocation is like......okay i wanna see the script for 15.18 the truth NOT 15.18 despair because clearly they are vastly different @ the cw turn on google docs sharing bitch

my apologies if this has already been posted here but im sharing this. here is what someone said on twitter along w this image:
the central image text reads: “@everyone I HAVE BEEN RELIABLY INFORMED GUARDIAN JOURNALISTS ARE SNOOPING AROUND ASKING FOR TRANS PEOPLE TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT DIY HRT. THEY ARE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FOR UNDER-18S DOING DIY. SHOULDN'T NEED TO BE SAID, BUT DO. NOT. ENGAGE. SPREAD WIDELY. DO NOT ENGAGE. WE NEED THIS NOTICE SPREAD OUT VIA EVERY GRASSROOTS SUPPORT GROUP AND SOCIAL CIRCLE IN THE COUNTRY.
URGENT. IF THEY GET EVEN ONE TO TAKE PART IT BECOMES A NATIONAL CONVERSATION. TOP ALERT.
Guardian journos are apparently asking trans people about DIY. Trans followers: DO NOT SAY ANYTHING TO THEM. NOT A WORD.
I also know I’ve got cis mutuals who have written for the Guardian. Please know I’ve always thought less of you because of that.

In the town where I grew up, there was a large statue in one of the parks, of a famous historical white colonizer. I'm not going to say who specifically, suffice it to say that it was someone who wasn't worth memorializing for their deeds. And as you can imagine, this statue was a frequent target of vandalism, with paint or toilet paper or eggs on multiple occasions. Now, the local council was generally pretty lax when it came to repairing potholes or other public damage in the town, but every time, 24 hours after this particular statue was hit, the same person would always appear in a Hi-Vis vest, hat, mask and sunglasses, carrying a bucket of water, and wash it clean. They would do it as quickly as possible, but always made sure the face and the name carved at the bottom were generously scrubbed. This only encouraged people to do it again, and so it became a vicious cycle.
Within a year, the statue had sustained so much damage that it was unrecognizable and the lettering unreadable, so eventually the council came and took it down. Also apparently, the person in the Hi-Vis vest didn't even work for the council. They were supposedly just some 'good samaritan' who cleaned it, often before the council even discovered it needed cleaning, so they just let them do it and ignored the problem. They didn't bother putting the statue up again.
Much later, we found out that the anonymous 'samaritan' had been deliberately washing the statue with a bucket of saltwater, which had dramatically corroded it, causing irreversible accumulative damage far worse than spray paint ever would have done. It's even theorized that they were also often the one spray-painting it, just so that they had an excuse to come back after a day to wash it.

For years, I watched *every* terrible comedy where a boy becomes a girl, or vice versa. Now, I give quick "reviews" of all of them.
I watched these mostly godawful "fish out of gender" movies so you don't have to!

Doubly interesting about this line is that “you lied” is said by Cas about a lie Dean told to someone else in the story that Dean is telling him about what happened while Cas was temporarily dead. But the story Dean is telling to Cas is also a lie. Dean is acknowledging that he lies while lying to Cas. In fact the lie that Cas is referring to didn’t happen at all.
listen, the most important Dean Winchester line of all time is “you lied”/ “I did. I do that.”
this is the Dean Winchester thesis statement, especially when you consider that in saying this, he is telling the truth.

"The ghostfacer effect" was like spn speak for what gays implicitly understood in past media: The queer content could not be shown, and would only be aired in code. You have to watch for it in the corner of your eye, always just offscreen, never looking at it directly. It's happening, but they aren't going to show it, not on screen.
It's a mixtape you didn't see Dean give, an understanding of CBGB you never saw Cas aquire, a cardigan you never saw Cas & Dean joke about, a gay bar where you never saw anyone kiss, a fivesome that happened between scenes, pictures in hats you never saw multiple characters take, tables you didn't see characters drink themselves under, taunts from vampires that don't make any sense, euphemisms that fell out of use long before the audience was born, mood lighting intentionally placed that gets waved away as coincidence, mirrors with straight couples that are very on the nose, memories being rewritten, confessions left just a teensie bit ambiguous, group reunions where the camera is framed on only two people, euphemisms applied to both straight couples and a set of same sex "friends", knowledge the characters strictly acquired off screen, declarations to groups where only two characters are emotional...
Until Nov 5, 2020
When for one day they turned the camera directly into the sun.
They filmed it and the world shut down. They aired it and it stopped turning. Just for a second. The filter slipped, before it was fit back on.

Oops, I never uploaded this one to Tumblr (which I only realized when someone else did, but then was kind enough to tag me, thank you)!
This is the comic that kickstarted my obsession with telling stories with as few panels as I could (usually 10-11 haha), so it’s got a soft spot in my heart.

society if the magicians s5 had been a eurydice and orpheus type story of the whole crew going to rescue quentin from the underworld and bring him back to life as he has done similar for them countless times culminating in eliot being the one to save him and get him back through the power of gay love and they got to grow old together again in their own timeline and the lesson was that you can grow beyond your depression even if it stays with you and find people that love you even when you are flawed and would move heaven and earth to get you back and not only that but that you DESERVE that love and you deserve to be happy.
instead of. whatever the FUCK it was that we got.
