It’s a Wonderful Life, directed by Frank Capra and released in 1947, is a meaningful story that pulls at the heartstrings and speaks deeply to the heart of its viewers. It brings forth a multitude of emotions, both positive and negative, and leaves you reflective of your own life, your self-worth, and the things you have to be grateful for that you might not have recognized previously.
This movie is about a self-sacrificing man, George Bailey, played by James Stewart, who has given up hope after falling upon hard times and the possibility of losing his family business. It’s a Wonderful Life begins with angels reviewing George’s life of good-deeds and selflessness with his Guardian-angel-in-training, Clarence, played by Henry Travers, who by changing George’s mind will finally earn his wings. When George contemplates ending it all by jumping off a bridge, he sees Clarence drowning in the river below and instead jumps in to save him. Clarence then shows George what life would have been like had George never existed and all of the positive impact he had during his life, including saving his baby brother who would then save a transport of soldiers during WWII. Upon this epiphany, Clarence returns George to his reality, and George is taken home to find his family and the town has come to his aide, saving his business. Upon his success, Clarence also earns his wings.
This movie is a deep and thoughtful piece of work that makes one realize even the smallest positive things are worth being grateful over. Disguised as a Christmas classic, this movie is valuable year round with its capability to entertain while simultaneously preaching positivity in even the hardest of times. Some see the story as a little slow, and while I don’t agree with that entirely, I do think you have to be in the mood to sit and reflect. It’s not a movie which can be enjoyed for its intricacies with split attention. Despite obvious Christianity-based undertones, this movie can easily be enjoyed by people of every faith.
With such a stunningly well-selected cast, it’s hard to imagine this movie not capturing the heart of even its most cynical viewer. Donna Reed masterfully plays her role as Mary Bailey, wife of George Bailey, and makes every gaze and interaction seem genuine with her on-screen husband. Also, who can deny that Henry Travers ultimately delivers as Clarence, a loveable albeit clumsy angel trying to gain his wings? Of course, James Stewart also adds an incredible amount of heart to his role as George Bailey, just as he had done with every role he had held during his life. Frank Capra truly went above and beyond with this star-studded cast.
All in all, this family-oriented drama is a Holiday staple. Many movies have copied the sentiment of this movie in the decades since its release; however, I feel very few succeed in capturing the same genuine feeling that this classic masterpiece provides. This movie may easily be the next film among your top five favorites.

“I’ve been running all my life…” Our story begins with Barry Allen, the protagonist of The Flash, telling us the story of a difficult youth suffering at the hands of bullies, losing his mother to an unknown entity, and losing his father to the prison system. Present day he’s a nerdy, but talented, forensic assistant in Central City, until a malfunctioning particle accelerator brought online earlier that night by S.T.A.R labs leads Barry to be struck by lightning. After nine months in a coma, he wakes in a medical room at S.T.A.R labs to a newfound muscular strength, incredible speed, and physical resiliency. Between him, and his small team of new friends at the lab, he discovers his calling as a hero defending Central City from those with malicious intent who were also physically affected by the same storm.
The Flash, released in 2014 and just getting ready to release its fourth season, has earned the love of many families for its clean content and easy to follow plot lines. The Flash is not a show to watch for its depth or intelligent dialogue. The opinions among the general public seem split among positive feedback from fans of the comic and those with families, to the occasional review that is deeply critical from those who seek more dynamics from the television shows they watch. Despite enjoying the first episode enough, I’m personally inclined to agree with those more critical of the show based off of the first episode. I think even if you are trying to produce a family-friendly program, you can do so without it being simplistic and predictable. The special effects and cast of the show seem to be of a high caliber though.
I believe to fairly review the show in its entirety I would have to watch more of the episodes. Overall I do think it is an enjoyable enough show based off of the first episode and understand its draw to its audience. If you watch it purely for entertainment and don’t seek mental stimulation, it’s a good-quality show. As Barry’s mother says to him as a child “…a good heart is better than fast legs.” This show has plenty of heart; perhaps it just takes a few episodes to find its legs.

The Ten Most Romantic Spots in Neopia
It’s no secret that Neopia is a beautiful place. From the tallest peaks of Terror Mountain, to the fiery depths of Moltara, there’s stunning views and diverse environments everywhere you go! But when you’re looking to impress that special someone, a simple trip to the Money Tree might not be the grand gesture you’re looking for. So, gathered in this article are our top 10 most romantic spots in Neopia! These locations also double as great places to bring friends, or just to treat yourself with a night out, so even the anti-Valentine’s Day crowd might just find their new favourite spot in this list. ;)
1. Terror Mountain
Bori, it’s cold outside. The jagged cliffs which loom over Happy Valley may not seem like the most romantic destination, but don’t give it the cold shoulder just yet! The high peaks give a beautiful view of Neopia, and if you’ve still got your Taelia Style Coat from the Y7 Advent Calendar, the icy air won’t be a problem. The ski lift to the top of the mountain is also a great way to just sit back, admire the view, and maybe get to know whoever joins you on the lift.
There’s also lots of activities atop the mountain. There’s lots of fun games to play, such as Snow Wars 2 or Terror Mountain Tilt (though we don’t recommend Dar-BLAT!!! if you don’t want to get frustrated on your fun trip!). Tarla’s Shop of Mystery gives an extra feeling of adventure, so why not each pick up a Mystery Item? The perfect ending to the day is sitting indoors next to a roaring fire, and opening up your Mystery Items, either celebrating your luck or laughing at your misfortune, while the storm blows outside.
2. Kelp Restaurant
Kelp is Neopia’s most exclusive restaurant, only occasionally accepting customers, but a reservation made well in advance will get you in on Valentine’s Day. We highly recommend the Aged Tchea Juice or Kelp Gazpacho, though it’s hard to go wrong… as long as you don’t have a shellfish allergy.
The price is high, but it’s well worth it, and the rarity of the occasion will make it a Valentine’s Day you won’t forget. You may even get to bring home leftovers, if you’re lucky, and there’s nothing quite like exploring the old ruins of Maraqua while snacking on leftover Octopi Souffle.
3. Island Market
It’s like going to the beach and hunting for treasure, all in one! You can walk along the thousands of shops with sand under your feet, the warm sun over your head, and the ocean breeze blowing through your hair. The Shop Wizard’s hut resides in the centre of the market if you’re looking for something specific, but the authors of this article are strong believers in the magic of adventure. Instead, we recommend checking out all the different huts, then perusing through the shops you find inside. There may not be the best deals, but you’re guaranteed to find something unexpected!
An extra way to make the day fun is to each set a low budget for yourself, and try to find the other person (or people, or yourself!) a gift in the maze of shops. Just something small and silly that you can keep to commemorate your day.
4. Kreludor
It’s been said that looking up at the Moon at night can be romantic, but what about looking up at Neopia from the Moon? Sure, the air is sometimes not breathable, and you run the risk of falling into abandoned mines (or, even worse, non-abandoned mines run by the nefarious Kreludan Mining Corp.), but it sets you up for a world of romantic puns—or, should we say, a moon of romantic puns? Feel free to use that one. “You take my breath away,” and “You make me feel like I’m falling,” are both highly relevant on Kreludor.
At the end of the day, though, Kreludor offers you a view that just can’t be beat. All of Neopia to one side of you, all of the vast expanses of space on the other side. It’s extremely romantic, and, best of all, you could say, “I can show you the world,” while gesturing to Neopia in the sky. We’re telling you, great place for puns.
5. Hall of Heroes
For those who enjoy museums, Hall of Heroes is your perfect destination. Located at the centre of scenic Altador, the stunning building is surrounded by gardens and local architecture, perfect for romantic strolls. But step inside the massive stone archways, and discover the greatest structure Altador has to offer. Your experience inside will be different, depending on your personal history with Altador. If this is your first visit, you may find the lights dimmed (romantic!), and all statues intact. The statues are excellently carved and adorned with plaques that give you historic insight into Altador’s exciting history.
If you’ve been to Altador often enough to have experienced a plot or something, you’ll find the room well lit, and access to two additional rooms. On your left will be a staircase which brings you to a telescope where you can gaze up at the stars. If flying up to Kreludor is too far or too lacking in oxygen for you, this small observatory offers a great way to view the stars. To your right is entrance to the Council Chamber, where the heroes of Altador (depicted by their statues in the main hall) meet. Who knows, King Altador may even be there with a Valentine’s Day gift!
6. Jelly Wor—wait, uh, no, we mean Chocolate Factory!
Sugary sweets are a hallmark of Valentine’s Day, so why not head to the Chocolate Factory for a delicious tour? Yes, we said Chocolate Factory, I think you might be confused. Sure, a more mysterious location with sugary sweets could also be a very romantic spot, but since no such place exists, the Chocolate Factory is just as good!
Factory tours are usually reserved for those with an interest in the technical side of things, which is not something everyone universally shares. There is, however, one interest we all share, and that’s chocolate. You’ll be surrounded by chocolates and candies of all kinds, and you can easily pick up a Box of Chocolate Chias or Heart Lollipop for that special someone.
7. Pick Your Own
Grab a basket, grab their hand, and go! Pick Your Own is easily one of our favourite romantic spots, which may come as another surprise. For those who aren’t familiar, for 400np, you receive a basket, and access to a berry farm, then walk around picking berries until your basket is full. Sure, you sometimes end up with more dung than berries, but it’s the experience that counts!
It’s a quaint kind of romance, which may not be for everyone, but we encourage giving it a shot. You can explore the Meridell countryside, digging through the bushes in hopes of finding one of the rare berries, like a Dorkleberry. It’s inexpensive and adventurous, as long as you aren’t too bothered by strange smells.
8. Outskirts of Faerie City
Most places on our list tend to have beautiful views, because they add a lot to the atmosphere (except on Kreludor, since they don’t have an atmosphere! Look at that, more puns for you!). Faerieland is no exception, with pristine forests and crystal clear rivers, it’s a beautiful spot. In addition to the stunning visuals, there’s lots of fun activities to make the land outside Faerie City a romantic destination. You can explore the Faerie Caverns or swim in the Healing Springs (you can swim in the Rainbow Fountain as well, but you might not leave the same). You can also watch the Poogle Races (go Poogle Two, we believe in you!) or maybe pay a visit to the Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity, mysteriously coming across a Faerie Kacheek Kite as you leave.
All in all, the gardens and wilderness just outside of Faerie City is a magical place, sure to make your Valentine’s Day a magical day as well.
9. Caves of Moltara
Grab yourself an Obsidian Rock Candy from Moltern Morsels, then head deep down into the caverns. Look, we’re the romance experts here, so just trust us on this. It’s a dangerous descent, but Valentine’s Day is all about taking risks, and this one is worth it. The caverns are warmed by the magma, which casts a romantic red glow onto yourself and everything around you. Much like Kreludor, the main appeal of the Caves of Moltara is the ambiance, but if the previous list items have given you a taste for romantic adventure, Moltara has it’s fair share of excitement. You can pick up an empty lantern from Lampwyck’s Lights Fantastic, then spend the evening hunting for worms (which is more romantic than it sounds). Once your empty lantern is filled with worms (again, better than it sounds), you can explore the Dark Cave, located next to The Gilded Page. If you’re lucky, you might be able to gather up the ingredients needed to make a petpet at Tangor’s Workshop to give as a gift, or keep, to commemorate the day.
10. Roo Island
Our final romantic spot is the cheery and colourful Roo Island. This bustling town is filled with fun things to do, all in a dreamy colourful palette. You can play Dice-A-Roo, pick something up from the Souvenir shop, play at the Games Room, go on the Merry Go Round together (guaranteed to brighten up any mood!), learn to draw, read some poetry, see some art, get some coffee… the activities are endless, all things you can do together. And the signature blumaroo footprint is famously heart-shaped, meaning the ground and some other decorations can be interpreted as Valentine’s Day themed!

If you’re a premium member with the maximum amount of pets, you’re sitting on 21 blank canvases for you to create whatever you want. <br><br> <b>Portfolio</b><br> A portfolio is an array of different bits of information about yourself
A portfolio is a great platform to share details about yourself, your goals, your achievements, and some of your favorite things!  Are you a storyteller? A portfolio can be a great place to show some glimpses into your favorite work! This is also a great place to show off all of your pets and a little information about them all in one place. If you have multiples goals at a time, this is also a very handy platform to keep track of your journey. Have you won some trophies lately? Great! Congratulations! This is also a good place to humble brag about your achievements ;) Show off some of your favorite art or some of your favorite items. A portfolio is truly the thing to have for all of your miscellaneous petpage needs.
{I hate this sentence please correct it} <br><br> <b>Art Page</b><br> There is a massive artist community on Neopets, and there’s an even bigger group of non-artists who appreciate viewing all your hard work. <br><br> You can keep it as a way to show your progress and hard work, or turn it into a public Adoptables site! <br><br> <b>Goals</b> <br><br> <b>About You</b> <br><br>
<b>Guides</b><br> Everybody’s good at something, so why not write a guide about it? Even if you aren’t good at something, “Game Avatars for Those Who Are Terrible at Every Game” would probably have a very large audience. A huge portion of Neopets runs on user-to-user support, and that’s not sustainable without people like you taking an interest in advising others. If you’ve got a Petpage to spare and some Wisdom to share, writing a guide might be for you! <br> <b>Character Profiles</b><br> …or other roleplaying tools, such as world descriptions. <br><br> <b>Lookbook</b><br> If you’re the kind of person who spends their evenings on the fan site Dress to Impress, planning out looks for every pet you’ve ever encountered, a Lookbook might be the perfect excuse to keep doing so! {{{IVY you should do lookbook I kind of googled it but tbh I’m not 100% sure on what is/isn’t a lookbook}}} You can save all the customizations you create for your own pets for your own personal reference, or create customizations of a variety of pets for others to use or be inspired by.
Are you a customization addict? With all of the wonderful customization items out there it’s very hard not to be!  This is the perfect place to show off the past customizations on your pets both for personal reference and for others to enjoy!
<br><br> <b>Blank Petpage</b><br> We’re telling you to turn your blank petpage into a blank petpage. Crazy, but hear us out! It’s not always ideal to fill up every petpage with content, because you never know when you’ll need a page for something, and you don’t want to have to choose to take down one of your other petpages. Speaking from experience, things can go wrong when saving petpage coding elsewhere! It helps to keep one page reserved for those special occasions, such as: <ul><li>You want to show some Neofriends pictures of something, but you can’t post it on the board, so throw them up on your blank petpage!</li> <li>You’re fiddling with coding but don’t want to edit your original layout directly, in case something goes wrong. Copy and paste that code into your blank petpage and edit from there.</li> <li>Trying to plan something visual, such as which pets should go on which accounts for maximum coordination? Put all your pet images on one page and shuffle them around, or whatever else applies. It’s easy and quick, and you can save it on the Petpage for future reference.</li> <li>Your dream pet has just gone UFA, and your application is too long for Neomail, that empty petpage is a perfect place for it!</li> </ul><br>
<br><br><b>Avatar Lending</b>
<br> <b>Note to Self</b><br> For us forgetful types, having reminders written down is very helpful. Sure, you can use paper and pencil like a Tyrannian, or you can take advantage of the modern age. You can use this page to remind yourself of ANYTHING, but some suggestions are: <ul><li>If you’re determined to find out the time of day your Magma Pool guard falls asleep, you can make a list of 10 minute intervals (or, for extra assurance, smaller intervals such as 5 minutes) and cross them off as you check them.</li> <li>Make a list of all your pets and their birthdays, in the calendar order. That way, you can keep checking back and never forget to celebrate their birthday and collect a Birthday Cupcake. </li> <li>If you don’t yet have Battledome Boons memorized, it’s helpful to make a list of which teams give which boons, and personally note which boons you prefer. It can make choosing a team and choosing a boon a much simpler and quicker decision!</li> <li>Got a board up you don’t want to lose, such as an UFT board on the Pound Chat? Link to it on your Note to Self page, and as long as the board isn’t deleted (either due to hitting the post limit or not being posted on for so long), you can keep it as long as you need it!</li></ul> at this point it’s almost 750 words so if we at least double it we easily fix the minimum word requirement, then after that it’s smooth sailing yay.

Remember that goal you thought up at 2 a.m. in a sleep deprived state? This petpage does! For those of us who have short attention spans or too many goals to count, a petpage to track your goals is an excellent thing to have! Whether it be avatars, pets, trophies, items, NT entries to write, big goals, little goals, or anything really! This petpage is sure to help you stay on track and keep everything in order. It’s especially useful as a self-reminder for those of you, like me, that like to drag your feet on some of your more difficult or daunting tasks. Updating your page and watching your progress is both motivating AND satisfying.  <br><br> <b>About You</b> <br><br>
