i think people in general really struggle to consider how the factual claims of a certain relationship or dynamic can have an underlying gendered implication that perhaps problematizes the perspective of the person (esp when that person is a man) who is communicating those factual claims to you.

like the post going around that started with a conversation about how men wished they received more gratitude for doing chores, which then turned into a gender-neutral discussion about how EVERYONE deserves gratitude for chores because chores are HARD, when the og convo is obviously very rooted in gender dynamics where women in relationships with men often take on a disproportionate number of chores, such that they struggle to express gratitude towards their partners for doing chores out of resentment and frustration. like yeah chores are hard, feeling gratitude is nice, but are we not completely diverting from the actual problem here?
