I feel like the reason certain dog-lovers insist cats are evil is because they read their body language as if they were dogs. So here’s a very basic guide to common “mean” things cats do that actually aren’t mean at all if you know what they’re thinking.

Rolling and exposing belly- attacks you when touched Does not mean: Give belly rubs! - haha I tricked you!  Actually means: I’m playful! If you reach for my belly I’ll grab your arm and bite it because I think we’re playfighting! 

Lazily exposing belly - still attacks when touched Does not mean: tricked you again! Actually means: I’m showing you my belly because I trust you. Please don’t break that trust by invading my personal space. I might accept a belly rub if I’m not ticklish and I know you well. Snapping at you while being pet Does not mean: I suddenly decided I dislike you! Actually means: You’re petting me in a way that gives me too much restless energy. Please focus on petting my head and shoulders instead of stroking the full length of my back next time.

I know a lot of people are going to be butthurt about this post (I don’t care) but a lot of women/trans/non binary folks feel unsafe in this world because of (cishet) men, because of how they interact with others who are not men!

We as a society have to ask ourselves what is the root of the violence against women? Why are so many women victims and survivors of violence inflicted by men? Is it toxic masculinity? Their desire for power? Or is it something inherent in human nature? Does our societies help encourage such dangerous behaviour by encouraging such behaviour at a young age through our actions and words?

Our mindsets are constantly influence especially at a young age. This is why it’s so important that we start young in teaching men and boys healthy attitudes regarding gender, masculinity, love and more!

BANGLADESH NEEDS HELP

For those of you who don’t know Bangladesh, it is a small country right beside India and Myanmar.

I am a Citizen of Bangladesh

This is a plea for help.

On 29th of July 2018, 7 school going students were killed by a reckless bus driver. The students protested with slogans on the same bus stand.

Since then All students of Bangladesh are protesting for safer roads and more strict regulations.

Their intention was never to harm even a single person. Neither it is now.

But today POLICE AND PEOPLE OF CHHATRO LEAGUE(a student council that’s controlled by the government) tortured students with tear shell, they beat students brutally and raped the female students (on 4th August 2018). The students are trying to defend themselves with sticks and tree branches that they’ve found on the streets.

Till now 4 students have been murdered and other 4 female students have been raped. 2 students lost their eye. And the Government is sitting there silent.

WE NEED YOUR HELP. PLEASE.

LET THE WORLD KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN BANGLADESH.
