eddie & matty.
❛ have you ever tried asking politely ? i do believe the first thing you said to me in my office was i’m not here for any of that no comment bullshit, i just need a couple of answers. ❜ the smile on matthew’s face was nothing less than teasing as he pressed a kiss to eddie’s forehead and wrap his arm around his shoulders. the pout made matty laugh as he watched eddie’s eyes sink down towards the cups of tea. gently extending them towards eddie, matty nodded, ❛ the one closest to you is yours. made just how you like. ❜ taking a sip of his own tea after eddie took his, matty asked, ❛ would you like to come back to my office with me ? i’m about to go get briefed on a bunch of flying teddy bears who have gone missing in muggle london. ❜
eddie rolled his eyes at matty’s statement, his smile only widening at the memory. that was exactly how he first met matty, but still, did matty really have to call him out like that? “hey, in journalism, that’s how we get things done. most of the time, anyways,” eddie said with a laugh before taking his tea graciously, pressing a soft kiss to matthew’s cheek as a way to thank him. he nodded at the question, matthew could have asked him to go on an impromptu trip and he would have gone. “flying teddy bears? you should have told me sooner,” he laughed as he took a sip of his tea. “maybe that can be my story for tomorrow’s paper: teddy bears wreaking havoc in muggle london.” it was only a joke, as over the years, eddie wouldn’t use matty in his stories, considering now it would definitely be a conflict of interest. “but yes, love. it’ll be a nice change of setting compared to the daily prophet headquarters,” eddie answered, as if he didn’t spend more time in matthew’s office than his own.

eddie & harry.
the truth was, harry could do without them entirely but hermione emphasized the important of working with the press, and harry had to admit he agreed. he’d seen firsthand what it was like when information didn’t travel freely. with that in mind, he nodded briskly, “edward, isn’t it? don’t suppose you’ve started working for the quibbler since i last read a piece of yours?” harry didn’t have much hope, though the lovegood newspaper was still the only one he really liked (it made him laugh as much as ever). he tried very hard not to hold onto old grudges, but he doubted skeeter’s grandson was going to make him laugh. “i don’t give details on active cases and i don’t talk about my family,” harry used his coldest voice, usually reserved for convicted dark wixen, then sighed and forced his features into a polite smile. “you get five minutes. let’s not go back in there - i don’t think you made many friends.” he lead the way to hermione’s office instead, security allowing him past.
feeling accomplished to have an unscheduled interview with harry potter himself, he didn’t even bother correcting him, saying he usually only goes by eddie. “no, sir. seems like i’m still working for the daily prophet,” eddie stated, turning on the manners that he had seemed to have forgotten when he was thrown out of the auror department. plus, eddie figured showing his... distaste for the quibbler ( much like his grandmother and mother ) wouldn’t have been wise. he nodded his head, the family he would leave alone but he wasn’t going to just forget about some of the active cases in the department. “thank you, sir,” he grinned, following harry to wherever he was leading him, anywhere was better than his own office really. notepad and enchanted quill already at the ready, eddie began to speak. “so first off, how are you doing? everything going okay in the department? no sudden breakouts by anyone?” the last question was asked more of a joke, hoping that it wouldn’t be so tense between the two of them.

apollo & frankie.
@ofhesperus.
IF ONLY SHE’D ACCESS TO A TIME - TURNER . back to her school days she’d go , tell itty - bitty frankie to become an unspeakable instead . it’d mean giving up her hopes and her dreams , sure , but at least she’d know the truth . ( and while she’s giving her younger self advice , here’s another piece: don’t befriend apollo zabini . he’s nice to look at , fun to talk to— but is that really worth the irritation ? frankie fights against the urge to stomp her foot . why won’t he just tell her ? ) ❛ so what happens if you do spill ? do they just fire you ? or do you get , like , punished ? ❜ now , there’s a thought ! her eyes light up . would they obliviate him ? would they obliviate her ? maybe they have already , and she just doesn’t know . hmm . maybe that’s not a road she wants to go down . ❛ in a bad way , not a kinky way . unless you’re having way more fun at work than me . ❜
apollo always enjoyed being an unspeakable, the mystery and high levels of security kept him loving his career. however, his big mistake? telling frankie about his position. while he had enjoyed spending time with her, in school and after graduation, he never would have expected how nosy she would be about his chosen career. looking over at her with tired eyes, apollo feigned exhaustion, but honestly, he was used to people asking about his career. apollo shook his head, although he had the faint resemblance of a smile on his face. he began speaking, acting as if he was actually tell her. “there was this one guy a couple years ago who told some people down at the three broomsticks about his work,” apollo shook his head once more, his voice quiet as he continued. “the next day, he didn’t show up to work. a couple weeks later? they got word that he was fed to a couple dragons in bulgaria,” apollo finished, emphasizing the last word. “so i’m not gonna risk anything, you know?”

apollo & oberon.
oberon wasn’t quite sure if he was grateful for conversation or annoyed by it. part of him wanted to just fixate on the case burning in the back of his mind. but a lot of him wanted to just relax for once. he just was having a difficult time of figuring out how he was going to relax. even if he managed to let the case rest he still had a whole hoard of other worries. the unsigned divorce papers sitting in his locked desk drawer. maisie’s upcoming birthday. lena’s first birthday. but he doubted that anyone wanted to hear about the mess his life was. “i’m as okay as someone drinking alone at a pub on a weeknight can be….i suppose.” oberon said after a moment’s thought.
“i guess that’s a fair point,” apollo nodded his head in understanding. while he was only at the pub for fellowship with a handful of colleagues from the ministry, he had seen plenty of people like oberon before, where the stress of whatever was happening in their lives seemed to weigh them down. apollo usually spoke to the different people that frequented the pub, maybe he was a minor chatterbox, but even if he wasn’t, he wasn’t going to let oberon just sit there and sulk silently. finishing off his glass of whiskey, he waved over to the bartender to pour him another one. “well, at least now you’re not drinking alone anymore,” he said to him, hoping the smile spread across his features would somewhat make him feel better. “i’m not gonna say i’m open ears or anything,” apollo defended, just in case that was what he thought was going to happen. “unless you want me to be. but i’ll warn you i’m not that good of a listener.”

apollo & teddy.
“ nothing says badass quite like a FLORAL PRINT , amirite ? “ fingers run through deep blue hair that matched the background color of their shirt. “ it’s fashionable ! “ teddy was known for dressing differently and having a lot of different types of clothes. including florals. they loved floral printed shirts.
apollo looked over, looking at their shirt and thinking that it did look quite good on them. he was so used to having to wear just black clothing to work, he almost envied them. “it does look good, makes me want to go out and get one of my own,” apollo said with a laugh. “but i would never steal your style.”

eddie & genevieve.
“Are you talking about yourself, Eddie,” Genevieve teased, a playful smile pulling up the corners of her lips. Even if she wasn’t there with him, it would have been impossible for her to miss the scene. She found it more amusing than she presumed he did. While she was never shy of sharing her opinion she was aware of it not always being the best idea during work. However, that applied much more to the people she interviewed than coworkers. It wasn’t her job to be liked. “Hasn’t anyone ever told you that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar?” Every sign pointed to her not liking Eddie, especially him holding a position higher than her own. The opposite was actually true even if she would never feed his ego with the truth. She saw it as obvious friendly teasing - not that she cared if it wasn’t taken that way. “We should play good cop, bad cop. I think I’ll win. I’ll even let you share the byline.”
eddie rolled his eyes as genevieve walked up. the two were always cordial, but that didn’t mean they weren’t as competitive as they possibly could be when it came to their jobs. it was just a bit of friendly competition, but of course eddie always wanted to be the better one. “no one has the time to use honey, genevieve,” eddie looked over at her with a small grin. “not with the deadlines that i have,” he admitted as he stuffed his materials back into his bag before looking back up at the girl. “the byline?” he repeated, eyebrows furrowed in visible disbelief. “absolutely not, if it’s my story, you’re going to be lucky if you even get some small credit on the page.”

eddie & harry.
as harry approached the auror department, he heard the faint sound of yelling. it was enough to make him put a careful hand to his forehead. quiet days were so elusive. admittedly, those were frustrating in different ways. the situation soon became clear, and harry looked at skeeter with raised eyebrows. “i’ll take god-awful and idiotic. but i try very hard to avoid being pompous. clearly my efforts are unappreciated.” this was hardly the first time his aurors had sent a reporter tumbling out of headquarters. they knew how little he generally cared for press, certain sports editors excepted. the loyalty, at least, he appreciated, even if their methods were a little blunt. “manners do need to go both ways. for example, if it was me you were looking to speak to, i appreciate journalists making appointments.”
as he turned to follow the voice that had come out, eddie instantly recognized who it belonged to ; it was hard to not know who harry was, especially considering the way his grandmother spoke about him, both verbally and in her old writings. he smiled as harry spoke, “well if the shoe fits,” he replied, although it was more of a joke than anything else. “i’m joking, i wasn’t exactly looking for you, but if you’re free, maybe we can have a little chat,” eddie said, completely ignoring the fact that harry said anything about making an appointment.

eddie & felix.
MANY YEARS SPENT RESENTING HIS STATURE , but there are times that it helps to loom over near everyone he meets . even he must crane his neck to meet the bodyguard in the eyes , but felix does so without flinching , hovering protectively over the shorter man . ❛ everything all right here ? ❜ he says , no questioning lilt to his tone . let him go , his narrowed eyes seem to say , and the man does just that . the door slams in their faces , rattling on it’s hinges – seriously , had the guy been half giant ? – and felix untenses at last . ❛ you good , man ? ❜
before, eddie felt small considering the tall bodyguard ( or as he saw it, a guard dog ) picked him up like it was nothing. but as felix walked up as well, eddie shrunk even more, despite being taller than the average person. either way, eddie appreciated felix stepping in, although he didn’t necessarily need help ; he had been tossed out of places before because of his occupation. brushing himself off and adjusting his glasses, he waved off felix’s question. “yeah, nothing i’m not used to,” he said jokingly with a small laugh. “just another day at the office really.”

eddie & arden.
arden had been standing by a wall in diagon alley, trying to pick up the strewn paperwork she had just dropped. when she had signed up to be a mediwitch, she hadn’t signed up for the massive amounts of paperwork she had to complete at the end of every day; the paperwork she was carrying was what she had to take home with her, since she hadn’t gotten a chance to finish it at work. finally stacking the pieces on top of each other, she prepared to stand when a man was thrown out of a door next to her, yelling at whoever was inside. she fell back on her ass, alarmed. she frowned as she stood, prepared to give the screaming man a piece of her mind. “hey, you need to watch where you’re–” she stopped suddenly as she got a good look at him, and gasped. it was eddie. eddie, the hot seventh year she fawned over when she was eleven. “oh– um… you…” she stammered uncontrollably, unable to get out a full word, frozen in front of the man.
too busy focusing on the loss of the head start he could have had, eddie didn’t realize he had bumped into arden. he threw out a couple more words that were far too colorful and would most likely get him in trouble when he got back to the office before sighing deeply. he looked around him, ensuring that no one really was paying attention before he finally noticed arden. his eyebrow raised, almost a challenge as she started to yell, but his demeanor changed as hers did. he thought he recognized the girl, but he couldn’t quite place her quite yet. “i need to what?” he asked, his mouth changing into more of a smirk than anything else.

eddie & louis.
a cigarette hung from pink lips, taking a moment to ingest the sweet toxins after ‘meeting’ with one of his more opulent of clients. his hair was ruffled, one of the buttons on his shirt undone and he didn’t seem to show any signs of giving a shit about his outward appearance. though observing eddie as he got thrown out from the building was WAY more entertaining then the acts he was engaging in just thirty minutes prior. an amused smirk preyed onto his features, tugging at the cigarette, “sounds like YOU need to relieve some stress. might i suggest a cigarette or a blow job? can offer you both.” the part veela was teasing. MOSTLY. but he offered the pack eddie’s way regardless, cocking a curious brow, “so what exactly was THAT? or are your knickers always in that much of a twist?”
smoothing out the front of his sweater, eddie glared at the door. being the journalist he was, and how relentless he was, he was no stranger to people getting a bit touchy with him. the voice made his gaze shift as he ran his hand through his curls. “well, they both certainly sound lovely, but i’m good for now.” eddie shook his head at the other male. “and that was me trying to get the story to educate the public but those bastards,” he shouted the word loud enough to where the people on the other side of the door could hear it before continuing, “would rather have our people in the dark. knickers are always in a twist in the pursuit of knowledge or whatever.”

eddie & matty.
❛ baby, between you and i, we have to be honest. sometimes, you don’t have manners when you’re trying to get all the details. ❜ matty told him teasingly, two cups of tea in his hands as he appeared behind his boyfriend ? significant other ? man he was in love with ? eddie. charming as ever, the grin on his face didn’t fade, even as he took note of the mused sweater and glasses that had been falling down his nose. the slam of the door still seemed to hang in the air.
❛ you seem a little more wound up than usual, darlin’. do you wanna talk about it ? ❜ matty shifted the tea in his hands to hold both in one hand while the other gently stroked through his lover’s hair. he liked seeing eddie all disheveled, but in the ministry offices was always a point of concern. ❛ what’s the story about ? ❜
eddie was more irritated than anything at the current situation, but the second he heard matty’s voice, he visibly started to relax. he didn’t know what they were labeled as, but matty could always make a bad day better by just being there with eddie. “to be fair, i have to be brash if i want anything done,” he teased smiling. while it sucked that he was quite literally thrown out of the small office, eddie always managed to find a way around obstacles. eddie smiled blissfully as matty started to run his fingers through his hair, looking completely at peace. “it’s nothing too horrendous, just wanted their statement on some allegations of their company, but it’s always no comment,” he pouted with his bottom lip dramatically before smiling once more. his eyes shifted to the tea before he spoke again, “is one of those for me, love?”

apollo & scorpius.
for as MUCH as scorpius enjoyed his job , he would be lying if he were to say he adored all aspects of it . especially when he was caught up on restocking the potions they were beginning to run low on and there was no need for him to be in the back putting to use the skills he learned during his potion making apprenticeship in france . with those instances and VERY much like right now , scorpius was stuck behind the register , watchful grey eyes following the movements of entering customers . it was the only RELATIVELY interesting aspect to the day so far as kept an eye on the floor traffic , feeling the dull ache beginning to BLOOM in the back of his skull - a horrid combination of his own lack of sleep and irritability . his shift lasted until closing , being the one to lock up and handle inventory before being able to retreat to his flat and call it a night . speaking optimistically , scorpius would head straight to bed following his arrival , but if he were to be a tad more realistic , his night would most likely involve cradling a glass of firewhiskey on his couch until he could will himself to sleep . nevertheless , that didn’t mean scorpius was enjoying standing around like a GLORIFIED security guard as he watched the newest person to enter walk around . ❝ is there anything you need help finding ?? you look rather lost . ❞ scorpius spoke aloud with raised eyebrows , tone neutral yet holding the formality of customer service work .
brows furrowed and clutching a small piece of parchment with ingredients on it, apollo’s eyes scanned the shelves haphazardly. instead of turning to muggle medicine for his adhd, he had always found that potions have worked better to just help him focus a little bit more. but of course he had run out, and not being the usual one to go to the apothecary. and in moments like these, he wished that it was something that he didn’t have to brew himself and could be found on the shelves so he could just grab it and go. hearing scorpius’s voice startled him, almost causing the small amount of ingredients he had in his hands to fall to the ground. “merlin, you startled me,” he laughed nervously, shaking his head at himself. “but um, i’m definitely a little bit lost. i can’t find any of this stuff,” he said, raising the piece of paper in the air. “i only need two more and then i’m good, but i have no idea where any of it is.”

apollo & thaddeus.
“You didn’t happen to see a um… a flying teddy bear, at any point go over here, did you?” Merlin Thaddeus really did love his job sometimes. He’d spent the better part of the day deanimating a hoard of stuffed animals from a nearby toy store and he had finished about forty-five minutes ago, but he needed to just double check he didn’t need to send an obliviator down this way as well before he headed home. “Or you know, a whole flock of them?”
“a what?” apollo heard thaddeus correctly, but he wanted to be sure that was what the other said. and he had thought working in the department of mysteries would have prepared to him for almost anything, but the idea of a flying teddy bear definitely beat anything he had come across the past couple years. “a flying teddy bear? no, i don’t think so. i think i would remember if i saw that,” he shook his head almost completely in disbelief.

apollo & oberon.
he’s wound up. he’s always been wound up. a spring coiled too tightly with no where to release the tension. he should be more relaxed considering he was sitting in the leaky cauldron nursing a drink. that in and of itself was rather stereotypical of him, an auror off duty drinking alone. but his other options were: go home to his empty apartment or stay at the office driving himself up the wall even further because the case he was working on had stalled out and it was simply a waiting game now. so a drink and an attempt to relax at least seemed like his best option. too bad it wasn’t exactly working. he let out a heavy sigh, wondering if he should just admit defeat and go home for now. he wouldn’t be any less tense there but at least he wouldn’t be as much of a living, breathing cliche there.
the leaky cauldron wasn’t exactly his favorite establishment, but it was where a lot of his coworkers went to unwind, and he was never one to shy away from socializing. but as time went by, more and more of his colleagues ended up leaving, most had families to go home to, but he was most likely going to spend his night out, his usual plan when he wasn’t working. as the crowd started to dwindle, he saw the other man, looking like he wasn’t enjoying himself. apollo’s body turned to face the other, taking a sip of his rye before smiling at the other. “you alright over there, mate?”

“fine, sit in there and say no comment, but don’t be surprised when there’s an article tomorrow morning bashing your god-awful, pompous, idiotic boss,” he was practically yelling as he was all but dragged out of the office by some bodyguard who most definitely had some type of giant in his family. he still was clenching the notepad in his fist, rounded glasses dangerously close to falling off before the door was slammed in his face. he huffed, fixing his sweater and pushing his glasses back up on the bridge of his nose. “people certainly just don’t have manners like they used to,” eddie grumbled as he put the notepad back into his bag, still visibly irritated at the situation.

yep, it’s me again, who is surprised? anyways, this apollo ; who is just..Too Much at times. anyways, here’s a little bit about him :-)
「 michael b jordan, twenty-nine, cismale + he/him 」 ☆ is that APOLLO ZABINI spotted in KNOCKTURN ALLEY ?! as they walk along the cobblestone ground they seem to be quite QUICK-WITTED, but also ARROGANT, it makes sense given they are an UNSPEAKABLE and their patronus is a HAMMERHEAD SHARK. heavy is the head that wears the crown, partying with strangers until the early morning, whiskey neat, and always looking over your shoulder + ICON by JADEN SMITH make me think of them.
background
born into a family such as the zabini’s, it was obvious that the boy would never want for a thing. he was their first born son, and the moment he was born, they knew what a strong personality he was going to have.
he was their first born, and of course he did what he was told but he wasn’t always like that.
the first couple years of his life, he made his parents’ lives hell. apollo would never sit still, he would speak out of turn, and even before sitting in a classroom at hogwarts, he couldn’t focus for shit.
and his parents just didn’t know how to handle it. and so that caused them to get frustrated, and he met that frustration with the same. from a young age, apollo had found his voice, and he wasn’t afraid to yell.
it took one of his professors his first year at hogwarts to recognize that apollo wasn’t troubled or disrespectful or dumb, he simply just had adhd.
now knowing why he was behaving that way, he got the help he needed, and they tried medication for awhile, but during his second year, he found what really helped his adhd: quidditch.
he tried out for chaser for slythering ( bc apparently? that’s the only house i know how to play ) and to say that he fell in love with quidditch & the intensity of it all
and he did great. was he a potter/weasley/wood? absolutely not, but he was pretty damn good. that way of release was perfect for his adhd, causing him to be able to focus better in classes
and even when it was off season, you could find him on the pitch, still practicing and using that as a way to help his adhd
anyways he did really well in his studies, always taking an interest in charms & defense against the dark arts.
but also ! apollo was certainly never one to shy away from a party so like...he can get lit most of the time, someone just
so when he graduated, it was no surprise that he went to work for the ministry of magic. he was recruited to work in the department of mysteries ( most likely due to familial connections ) but he currently is there working as an unspeakable
tbh he probably has never told a soul what he does there, bc they’ve probably scared their employees
but yeah he absolutely loves it so much working there bc it’s cool and honestly he’s a Nerd
tbh he just wants to make his family proud and be successful. their family trust certainly has enough money in it but apollo wants to have his own because he refuses to depend on anyone really
wanted connections
friends! give me a bROTP!!!
ex-friends that maybe have drifted apart since their days at hogwarts but now they’re reconnecting or smth idk
maybe ppl that also work at the ministry so they cross paths a lot
unlikely friends? hmmm
ex-flings, im in love with exes and messy relationships
tbh anything and everything, but im gonna tell u rn, apollo is an arrogant pos most days :~)
