We all love to complain about the classes we take, though I think the award for “most random coursework ever” goes to those seeking a degree in “Library Work” in 1937. Having a general knowledge of all major subjects is helpful for assisting patrons, sure, but systematic botany? That’s a tad obscure. Hey, at least there’s a Reference class thrown in there eventually!
This degree track is part of a booklet published by Milwaukee-Downer College entitled “The Liberal Arts College Prepares the Way,” from the Milwaukee-Downer College Records, Milwaukee Mss L, Box 10, 1937.
