hello everyone!

i can't believe that i finally get to show you my first ever modular set. meet SOL KITCHEN - a modular kichen system which comes in wood & solid color finishes. several weeks ago, i ran a patron-only poll to help me pick the style of this kitchen set - and i am so happy that the top-voted option ended up being the primary inspiration for these items! i just love creating items with leather handles, ok??

A/N: someone mentioned it, so here i am

WHAT THE HOGWARTS COMMON ROOMS LOOK LIKE, IN MY CLEARLY SUPERIOR OPINION…

gryffindor common room

i’m no interior decorator, and i’m betting godric gryffindor wasn’t either, so it looks like a glorified man cave

lots of designated areas for just hanging out, a huge, central fireplace, lots of open places perfect for pulling your wand on someone to duel, but very cluttered in other areas where you are meant to be close for house bonding!

secondly, there are a total of like, 4 desks you can use to work on, and they’re pushed to the walls, the chairs constantly stolen for something or another.

the main focus of the gryffindor common room is the couches and chairs

there’s a recliner that some muggle-born student brought in, and when they first kicked it out the purebloods went absolutely feral

they don’t know how it works, but they love it

there are so many radios… gryffindor has the best sound system for any kind of party. the other houses have to use charms to get the sound evenly distributed, but gryffindors just use their like, 10 different radios

there are a lot of spare pillows and blankets, but they don’t exactly have a place to go - they’re usually just thrown on the back of the couches or cast to the floor.

sometimes the 1st years will play “the ground is lava” and it’s vvv sweet

the ceiling has constellations mapped onto it, and they’re actually accurate. using your wand, you can “shift” the sky and it’s a really effective way to get your astronomy homework done

harry didn’t notice it because he’s as observant as a doorknob

the most chaotic thing about the gryffindor common room is the fact that there are real swords and battle axes on the wall, all of which belonged to godric gryffindor himself

students will 100% try to use them as jokes, but they can never manage to actually grab them? their hands just go right through them like they aren’t real

but if you approach them with nothing but wonder and reverence, when you reach out, you can most definitely feel them, and they are real

i really just want someone to have picked up a battle axe during the battle at hogwarts, now

there are a couple of portraits that give life advice, but most of them are #tired and leave their portraits to go visit others because the common room can get so crazy

the amount of animals this common room has,,,, i sure do hope you’re not allergic

there are lizards, rats, toads, cats, tarantulas…

if you’re afraid of any of them, tell your classmates when you’re still a first or second year and the whole of gryffindor tower will rally behind you to make the other person put their animal in their dormitory

there always seems to be leftover food from a party, so you’re well fed. 

and if you’re from another house, this is the easiest house to steal food from.

oh, and the carpet (because YEAH, someone put in carpet with some kind of magic) does not match the furnishings at all.

hogwarts house aesthetics

gryffindor: flushed cheeks, eager eyes. lips that talk a mile a minute and thoughts that run rampant. skulls are cells and words are the prisoners inside. notions, feelings, fire, burning through all that exists. being the strongest, the brightest, the star that lights up the world as it falls. parties, common rooms, quidditch matches where only adrenaline is needed to get a high. hands that never tremble except for in private, feet that walk the wrong way with pride outlining each step. hearts that thump like drums, even when the quiet is suffocating. silence being the enemy, for truth comes in the breaths outside of calamity. more, more, more, because what's existence without indulgence? late nights that end too early and early mornings that you wish ran late. there is more to life than surviving, and to live means to fight.

hufflepuff: kind smiles, gentle touches. knowing the ins and outs of every situation, nimble fingers weapons against destruction. loyalty, hard work, doing the right thing even when it hurts. indulging in wrong things for the sake of others. knowing that people exist, walk the earth, have minds and souls and hearts that synchronize like symphonies. the world needs more goodness, and change starts at the fingertips of the observant. vines and greenhouses, the smell of dew and grass and petrichor. the soft pulse that licks at your throat, steadies in your ears. secrets whispered behind hands and feet bumping feet under tables. pinkies that link and eyes that shine. being one with your environment, because inner-peace doesn't have to be boring. friendship, above all else, because why live when you can love?

ravenclaw: long nights and cold mornings. ink-stained fingertips and the smell of old parchment. couches and comforters and cleaning out a soul by stuffing it with more. the mind is a weapon, and to be the best, you have to earn it. words that are never-ending but all too short. blankets sewn from dreams and wishes, a fantasy to rock one to sleep. stars that glint and moons that guide. lips that are chaste and loud, rivalry to the bone. rumbling stomachs because knowledge is food, and everyone needs sustenance. kisses shared in dark libraries and darker corners. secret glances through stacks and shaking hands with threaded fingers. earl grey tea and rainy thursday evenings. the lust for knowledge of any kind, because life is too short to not learn all you can. questions that earn reprimands and dares that earn regret. pushing and pulling and taking and testing, because the power you taste on your tongue is sweet.

slytherin: competitions, fights, winning. no pauses, no breaks, no breaths. ambition that knocks around in the skull, filling one with a unique sort of drive. tongues like snakes and curses like monsters. be what others fear, so they may never test what terrifies them. poker games and firewhisky—injuries healed by subconscious affection. trust in your friends, but even more in your enemies. to be one's greatest critic, even when it hurts. cold fingers and warm pockets, the perfect size for hiding held hands. observing, understanding, strategizing. pros and cons and lists that never end. knowing what you want, how you want it, where you want it. and even if you don't know what it is, you do understand that you will get it. silk sheets and old tomes, runes like precious art. drawing temporary tattoos on skin, being we are ever-changing, and you mustn't be stagnant. sarcasm and spitting insults, the sensation of superiority when surrounded by friends. sympathy is good, but never to share. be quiet, be discreet, be the best.

severus: view one

There is a bedroom in the cottage, small and Spartan, just a bed with plain sheets and a cupboard for his robes. It is nothing but a place to rest his body and mind when even the most potent of Pepping Potion leaves him loopy instead of focused.

The real heart of the place is his laboratory, his empire. Lined with shelves, and each one packed to bursting with jars and boxes of ingredients, from the pedestrian to the fantastically rare. He keeps a supply of cauldrons in the lower cabinets, and the worktable in the center of the room is generously sized. He has been known to keep up to six individual potions brewing at any point in time; they say it can’t be done, that no one could give the due attention and care to each, but Severus Snape is the man that you come to when you are told it can’t be done.

Need a potion forgotten by time, vague instructions left in half-legible scrolls? Bring it to Snape. Or one that is fiendishly difficult to prepare, requiring the upmost of precision? Bring it to Snape. Perhaps what you seek has never been done before? There is a reason that Severus Snape is the premier private potioneer of Wizarding Europe.

He had been bitter, once, that after all he had done for Dumbledore, the old man still rejected outright his application to teach at Hogwarts. The bitterness still lurked at the back of his throat like so much bile, for Severus was never the sort to let go of a grudge. But in his better days, after having spent a week prepping a particularly difficult potion to perfection, wiping his brow with the satisfaction of a job well done perhaps, he knew that this was a life that suited him. There were no horrible children about, no one to bother him. No one looked to him for coddling; his clients knew that he was the best and gave him the according respect.

And when one day he opened his morning Prophet to see the spitting image of damned James Potter staring back at him, eleven years old and off to Hogwarts, he was able to toss it in the bin with great prejudice and know that the boy, the living embodiment of his life’s greatest disappointment, would never darken his doorstep.

Honestly Loki is basically the only morally complex character marvel has tried to write and he's been through like seven different directors' intentions and rewrites and the most fucking inconsistent characterization fiction has ever seen so kudos to Tom Hiddleston for actually pulling a semi-compelling character out of that mess but also for not going fucking feral on every new director who, thinking theyre god's gift to marvel and cinema, has turned to him and said "I think we're gonna do something a little different with Loki this time"
