people telling you they reread your fic is the biggest compliment you could ever receive. there are thousands of stories out there begging to be found, to be explored, but your story meant so much to someone that they came back to it eagerly, they went over every word again. to love is to return and loving a fic is rereading it. thank you to all readers and rereaders <3333

Fanfiction is not "Eww... fanfiction".
Fanfiction is comfort after a long day. Fanfiction is hope when things aren't going so well. Fanfiction is exploring your emotions and sexuality in a safe place. Fanfiction is reaching out into a universe to discover things you never knew before. Fanfiction is discovering things about yourself that you were unsure of. Fanfiction is going on adventures. Fanfiction is walking when maybe you cannot. Fanfiction is standing up for yourself when it's hard to do in real life. Fanfiction is having the family you never had, the friends you always wanted, the love and affection you deserve. Fanfiction is letting out your frustrations and anger in a safe place. Fanfiction helps people. Readers and Writers alike.
Fanfiction is not "lesser writing".
Fanfiction is 100k stories about two dudes in a shiny black car. Fanfiction is 47 chapter epic tales about dragons and magic. Fanfiction is short stories that evoke such emotions that leave you crying for hours. Fanfiction is incredible prose that lingers in your mind for years to come.
Fanfiction is not shameful. It is not worthless. It is not just some silly thing kids do.
Fanfiction is beautiful art and no one can take that away from you. If they try, just write them into your next story and beat the hell out of them.

Summary: Mackenzie and Will struggled to handle their working relationship, as arguments spill outside the hours of 8 and 9.
It was her first real week at the news company and the delicate thread of their relationship was a tight rope act he wasn’t sure he could manage. During the day they were just Will and Mackenzie, fighting the awkwardness of her betrayal and their power struggle for control – but overall working well. After the show Mack would go downstairs and collect Daniel before bringing him up to the newsroom.
I’ve just got some files to put away… I just want to check something… let me just do this job and then we’ll go… play with Will for a bit honey…
He appreciated it because he knew she was just finding any excuse to let Will spend time with his son. Daniel enjoyed running around the newsroom, looking at the equipment and spinning in the hair and makeup chair. He liked letting Will show him around and finding fun games to play. Each day Daniel and Will grew more and more comfortable around one another. Just for an hour in the evening it was easy.
And then Friday came. He had his meeting with Rhys, and all went to shit. He got in his head about the ratings. So Will went behind Mac’s back, putting in a segment about Sarah Palin he knew she wouldn’t like, and he knew he couldn’t stand by. He didn’t do it for good news, he did it to be liked by the viewers. Her team had failed and lost them an important guest, leaving him to talk to three idiots who made him, and the newsroom look like armatures. He was mad at her; she was mad at him.
He had to admit, it was one of her best lectures. One of her angriest and most fire fuelled – but with good reason. He knew she was in the right; she had the high ground but like hell was he going to let her know that.
“Are you in or are you out?” she stormed down the hallways with whisps of hair flying around her face.
“I don’t understand, you’re mad at me right now?” it was automatic. It was too easy. He saw her standing on her high horse and had to fight back. Yes, she was right about this situation, but she had no right to assume an ethical throne. She lost that right when she slept with her ex-boyfriend.
“How the hell did Palin get into the run down?” He couldn’t answer. She already knew and he wasn’t going to admit it. “First of all, I’m the EP! Don’t send…”
“And I’m the managing editor, not your puppet! I don’t need your permission to…”
“yes you do! And you didn’t ask for it because you knew you wouldn’t get it! I made it clear this show was not going to participate in the endless cycle of co-dependency between Palin and…”
“I know!” that was his mistake, interrupting her when she was on a role. Now she was going to make it personal.
