Vroeger zei mijn moeder altijd dat tijd alle wonden heelt. Dat hoé erg je iemand ook mist, dat vanzelf wel weer weggaat, net zoals de wintermaanden. Ze vertelde me alleen nooit op welke manier die tijd voorbij gaat. Ze vertelde nooit dat ik alleen maar zou douchen zodat ik ongezien kon huilen; en dat ik door mijn tranen het water niet meer zou zien. Of dat die leegte niet alleen in mijn hart zou zijn, maar ook in mijn maag en dat ik mezelf moet dwingen om ook maar iets te eten. Ze vertelde me nooit dat foto’s van jou als kogels van spijt, dwars door me heen zouden gaan. Ze vertelde nooit dat ik, als de cijfers op de klok, stil zou staan terwijl ieder ander vooruit beweegt. Ze vertelde nooit dat jij me zo snel zou vergeten. Al deze dingen die ze nooit zei, zijn hoe de tijd voorbij reist. Ze had ook wel gelijk, tijd heelt alle wonden wel. Maar de littekens die je onderweg maakt, die zijn voor altijd.
