Fictional characters are objects.

They are not people. You cannot "objectify" them, because they have no personhood to be deprived of. They have no humanity to be erased. You cannot "disrespect" them, because they are not real.

Kendra and Jase actually survive in the apocalypse for 3 years or so, getting by as bandits and robbers. They only cared about each other. They've had a couple of run ins with the Resistance but were wary of big groups (let's be honest there is always a sketchy group arc of any apocalypse related show). In one devastating attack, Jase dies and Kendra gets blasted in her right side, losing her eye in the process. Donnie, who happens to collecting Kraang samples next by was about to evacuate when he gets an alert of nearby enemies until he realizes it's not just kraang energy signatures he's picking up.

Comprehensive guide to writing deaf characters

Despite not being intented as a blog resource for writers, we get a lot of questions regarding how to write deaf characters. (and by a lot, I mean like half of questions are about writing)

Since lot of these questions are similar anyway, I wrote up this guide for anyone intending to add deaf characters into their writing. From now on, we shall only answer questions related to writing which AREN’T covered in this guide.

Please, keep in mind that deaf people aren’t a hive mind and this guide is based on our personal experience. We recommend a sensitivity deaf reader if you plan to make any deaf character a big part of your story.
