all of the general housekeeping stuff is either done by robots or al insists on doing it himself. like if any other Fancy Rich Orokin dropped by and saw THEE albrecht entrati making dinner while loid is like just standing around in the kitchen talking to him but not helping they’d have an aneurysm. but al not only genuinely enjoys cooking and insists on it, he ALSO knows way better than to let loid anywhere near that stove unless he wants every single smoke alarm in the building to be set off. it’s like every appliance in that kitchen is alive and hates him specifically even IF albrecht wasn’t shooing him away every time he tried to help he would find some way to set something on fire. it’s a curse

hoenstly the one headcanon that is nearest and dearest to my heart is that even though many people assume that loid is just generally like a Family Servant or whatever, there is absolutely a reason that he’s strictly albrecht’s ‘personal assistant’ on paper and it’s because loid is actually not very good at general housekeeping shit at all. like he does great work in the lab and he’s good at getting on al to get places on time and other such things, and he’s a neat person so he can keep things relatively organized and tidy, but he’s like. he is NOT a good cook in the slightest, even with a detailed recipe right in front of him he has no idea what he’s doing and is generally uncomfortable with it. he absolutely hates getting dirty unless it’s for a good reason so he’d be loathe to do any Actual Serious Cleaning unless it was like a life or death situation and even then he’d make it very well known that he’s not happy with what he’s doing. dishes? nope, the possibility of maybe touching wet food grosses him out so much he adamantly refuses. laundry? ugh, don’t you have necramites for that? what am i, a construct??? if he worked for anyone else he would have gotten fired within a week because on top of being very adamant about only doing whatever’s on his job description he also has a hell of an attitude and has no hang ups about telling someone they’re doing something wrong. but because albrecht likes this about him he has job security despite generally not being very good at being a personal assistant
