7 Pieces of Furniture Your Home Should Not Be Without
When you are furnishing your home, there are pieces that do more than just fill the open space. These pieces can work in more than one room in the house and could even be taken with you if you relocate. If you choose well-made timeless pieces, these items could last for a lifetime. Seven pieces of furniture that no home should be without are listed below.
1. A comfortable couch
Tumblr media
The couch is the place other than the bed where you probably spend most of your (sitting) time. This means that above all, the couch you choose should be comfortable. If you combine this with a hard-wearing fabric and classic lines, then you will have a couch that will serve you well for as long as you need it.
2. An occasional chair
Tumblr media
Occasional chairs can provide a real style contrast in any room and they have a practical use if you ever need a spare chair. Therefore, the best occasional chairs are ones that are lightweight and easy to move. Chairs that have open backs let the light through and this can create interesting shadows. One of the beauties of the occasional chair is you do not have to worry about matching them with any other furniture and so you are free to choose any design that you want.
3. A console table
Tumblr media
A console table is narrow and is generally placed along a wall. There are a lot of options that are available to you in terms of the designs and features. Some of them are completely open while others will have drawers or cabinets. They are ideal for storage and decoration and work well in any room.
4. A dresser
Tumblr media
Dressers can add character to any room, and they give you a great amount of extra storage space. They come in a range of different designs and finishes so you are sure to be able to find something that you love. Low or narrow dressers are a good choice because you can have a pair of them side by side, or even across the room from one another.
5. A demilune table
Tumblr media
The demilune table is more versatile than other types of tables because they do not take up as much space. Their semi-circle design means that they can push up right against a wall. The fact that they do not have a leg in the center also means that a chair can be tucked right underneath it as well.
6. An ottoman
Tumblr media
An ottoman is a versatile piece of furniture that can be used in various rooms around the home. The seat is usually upholstered, and it is often used as a stool or footrest. You can even get models that have built in storage (a great place to store those warm blankets for chilly couch sessions!)
7. A nightstand
Tumblr media
Nightstands are primarily used in the bedroom, but you could also use them in other rooms where you like to keep things close to hand. In the bedroom it can be a place to keep your alarm clock and a glass of water. It is also somewhere to store the things that you may use before bed such as a book or magazine.

British Blue Cheeses
Tumblr media
Not everyone likes blue-veined cheese, probably because it has a strong flavour. Personally I love it, although my favourite is a creamy Dolcelatte made in Italy. I've noticed that the Italians keep the best of their dairy produce for themselves. So you haven't tasted the best Italian cheeses unless you've been to Italy.
Let's consider British blue cheeses though, after all, they are what this article is about.
The most well-known blue cheese in Britain is stilton and of course, there is a white stilton cheese too. Stilton cheeses have a Certification Trade Mark and they can only be made in the English counties of Leicestershire, Derbyshire, and Nottinghamshire. It has never been produced in the town of Stilton, which is in Cambridgeshire. The best blue stilton should be crumbly, not hard.
Other famous British blue cheeses are Wensleydale, Shropshire blue, and Cheshire blue. However, there are many more that are produced all over the UK. They can be made from cows milk, ewe's milk or goats milk. Dovedale is made with cow's milk, while Harbourne blue is made with goat's milk. One of the cheeses made from ewe's milk is the Scottish cheese, Lanark Blue.
Tumblr media
One of the Welsh blue cheeses is Perl Las (Blue Pearl in English), which won the gold medal in 2015 at the World Cheese Awards. This is a special blue cheese which is handmade with sea salt rubbed into its rind, rather than it being placed in brine like so many other cheeses. It has a mild taste, so perhaps even those who profess not to like blue cheese would like it. It's made with cow's milk.
Dovedale blue is produced only using cow's milk from the counties of Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire. There's also Dovedale Blue and Black cheese, with the black coming from the inclusion of cracked black peppercorns.
Dorset Blue Vinney used to be made in all Dorset farmhouses before the Second World War. Production began again on Woodbridge Farm, Dorset, in 1980. It's made to a recipe that is more than 300 years old. The family that owns the farm have been producing Blue Vinney for more than 40 years.
Some blue cheeses have imaginative names, such as Blissful Buffalo, made from ewe and buffalo milk. Then there's Blue Murder, a cheese from Scotland, made from cow's milk. That is made by Alex James a former member of the UK band Blur.
There are many other British blue cheeses to sample, although you may have to order them online.

Hot Diggity Dog
Tumblr media
Also known as a frankfurter or wiener, the hot dog's origin is claimed by the city of Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany, and also by a butcher living in Coburg, Germany., who traveled to Frankfurt to promote his new product, sometime in the late 1600s. Either way, German immigrants brought not only the sausage with them in the 1800s, but also their beloved dachshund dogs, and the name probably began as a joke about the small, long, thin dogs.
Food historians at Yale University say the word "hot dog" began appearing in college magazines back in the 1890s. when students started calling wagons outside their dormitories selling hot sausages as "dog wagons." It didn't take long for the word "dog" to become "hot dog." German immigrants first sold them from push carts in New York City's Bowery in the 1860s. Another story recounts a German butcher, Charles Feltman, in 1871 hawked sausages with milk rolls from his stand on Coney Island, starting a trend to this day of the famous "Coney Dog," (usually topped with a savory meat sauce). The bun made its debut at the Colombian Exposition a few years later where visitors gobbled them down in large quantities. Vendors had a hit on their hands, and we can thank Germans for their culinary contribution.
These 2016 statistics bear out the huge demand and popularity; Los Angeles residents consume more hot dogs than any other city (more than 36 million pounds), beating out New York and Philadelphia. Dodger fans alone consumed 2.6 million in 2016 the birthplace of the Dodger Dog, a 10 inch pork wiener wrapped in a steamed bun sold at Dodger Stadium; across the country major league fans enjoyed 19.4 million during the 2016 season;
+On Independence Day (July 4th) Americans enjoy 150 million hot dogs, enough to stretch from to D.C. to L.A. more than five times;
+During peak season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Americans typically consume 7 billion; that's 818 consumed every second.
+Top hot dog consuming cities are all home to a major league baseball team (no surprise there):
Los Angeles Chicago New York Philadelphia Boston Phoenix Atlanta Detroit Washington, DC Tampa
+Nathan's - started in 1916 by a Polish immigrant Nathan Handwerker selling a 5 center from his stand on Coney Island, they still dominate NYC and are famous for their July 4th eating contest; reigning men's champion again in 2018, Joey Chestnut (with a record 74 in 10 minutes) and Miki Sudo (women's) at 37 (burp);
+Wienerschnitzel - an American fast food chain founded in 1961, also known as the World's Largest Hot Dog Chain 358 locations;
+Chicago style - who doesn't know what this is: hot dog, poppy seed bun, Vienna wiener, mustard, tomato wedges, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, sport peppers and a dash of celery salt, don't even mention the "k" word (ketchup);
Most popular retail brands:
+Nathan's Famous Skinless Beef Franks (New Yorkers will settle for nothing less) +Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners (no surprise here) +Hebrew National 97% Fat Free Beef Franks (fewer additives and fillers) +Sabrett Skinless Beef Frankfurters (who?) +Ball Park Beef Franks (always popular)
Costco - In 2015, Costco food courts sold 128 million hot dogs; at $1.50 (includes drink) on average, up from 100 million a year earlier;
Retail sales - 1 billion pounds were sold at retail stores. That number represents more than $2.4 billion in retail sales.
+Chicago's O'Hare Airport sells six times more hot dogs than Los Angeles and LaGuardia Airport combined which clocks in at 725,000; travelers hope for a flight delay so they can nosh on those dogs;
Well, statistics don't lie.Americans love their hot dogs, and they have their own unique ways of preparing and enjoying them. Whether you choose sauerkraut, chili, cheese, mustard, relish, onions, ketchup or all of the above, nothing satisfies quite like a hot dog. Eaten on the run, wolfed down from a street vendor or savored at a backyard barbecue, they are pure American and anyone can enjoy them anywhere, anytime. So pile on the condiments and chow down.

Mexican Foods
Tumblr media
Mexican food is extremely popular. In fact, it is so popular that there are Mexican restaurants almost everywhere all over the United States. And no, Taco Bell does not count as one of these options.
Sure, the Mexican food that Americans think of is the slightly Americanized version of the Mexican food, but still it is very similar to what they eat in Mexico.
One of the staples of Mexican cuisine is the taco. Whether you are eating a soft taco or a hard taco, they are both very common options in Mexico or the United States. If you want more of an authentic Mexican taste then the corn tortilla is the option to go for. While this is something that turns off many Americans, if you are able to track down an authentic Mexican joint in the U.S. then it's very likely there will be soft corn tortillas available. Personally, I feel like this is an incredible option.
Of course when it comes to side dishes there are the classic options of rice and refried beans. If you are an American then it's very possible that the only time you have ever eaten refried beans is when you are enjoying Mexican cuisine. And then the rice is just a little different when there is the Mexican touch on it. The side dishes are just different from other foods Americans eat and very delicious. These are sometimes the only two sides available at Mexican restaurants and that's quite alright.
Tamales are a very popular Mexican dish. They can be had for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. They can be had either red or brown. There is also an option that is the complex brown mole sauce which completely transitions the tamale. You can enjoy tamales with a cup of atole, which is a sweet, thick drink made of corn.
Another staple of Mexican cuisine is the quesadilla. These are very popular and even restaurants that aren't Mexican serve these. They are so simple. Grab some cheese, some chicken, some peppers and onion and grill it up and you are good to go. You can have them in the morning or in the evening. All it takes is some salsa, which can even be store bought, and some sour cream and you are up and running with some tasty quesadillas. They can be made in a matter of minutes. If you already have some chicken then it can be a matter of seconds.
Odds are there is a Mexican dish for everyone. These were some of the more popular ones, but you can dig deeper and find the more unique options.

Too Much Good Healthy Food Can Kill You
Tumblr media
Water is essential for life and we need to consume it in order to stay healthy but when too much is taken it is known to kill. That was driven home when dizziness and unwell feelings have had me involuntarily taking it easy. At times my legs were too heavy and tired to walk while my arms feel like they are being dragged from their sockets. My only respite has been doing more in the garden with frequent brakes.
During the cold winter months it is natural to turn to the good leafy green vegetables and the oft promoted super foods. It was with great pride and joy that my patch sports them in abundance. Bok Choy, which grows so quick one can pick leaves everyday while it thrives. Kale, which never seems to be a trouble to grow, and spinach, which is my favourite.
From around the start of winter they became my staples every night. Knowing the benefit they give with their super abundance of essential elements and vitamins a short burst of heat in the micro-wave had them ready to eat.
Following the nightly meal, it is a treat to pamper my stomach with yoghurt and blueberries. Delicious and moorish even the cats front up to lick the plate. Almonds have been another staple recommended by dieticians for a healthy gut.
So with all this goodness inside why is my body letting me down. Tired aching muscles, nausea feelings and then the dizziness that has often sent me spinning towards a chair.
Doctors, Naturopaths, PT trainers and others all suggested different causes. From stones in the ears to a damaged shoulder everything was suggested but nothing seemed to fit.
As a spiritual person it is normal for me to consult the Spirit for answers and they came thick and fast. Looking at the Bok Choy waving its lovely leaves amidst the other great foods it hit me. What is it about that vegetable that could make me sick.
It has been like poisoning whereby my brain becomes cloudy and then my body feels wobbly. Led to the Internet the riddle was soon solved.
While bok choy, kale, spinach, etc. are super foods with components to block cancer growth and even prevent diabetes, they contain a high amount of potassium. Symptoms of too much of that element exactly matches mine. Lethargy, nausea, and dizziness are part of it. Almond milk and nuts are also full of it, as too is milk and other staples, including eggs.
The danger of an abundance of potassium leads to heart attacks and other things. The lesson that too much good healthy food can actually kill you has been learnt. The Great Spirit has once again protected me, as it does all who are spiritual. All one needs do is ask it as a friend for answers and it rarely lets you down.
Norma Holt identified the Spiritual Children, who are those whom God has selected to grow in spirit throughout the course of the day. They have been stolen by the work of 666 and belief in heaven and hell while ignoring their spiritual connection.

Get Saucey
Tumblr media
Referred to simply as the five Mother Sauces, their basic repertoire comprises the better cuisines and can easily be expanded upon to create dozens of sumptuous toppings and foundations for your food (if you know what you're doing).
In the nineteenth century, a young pâtisserie chef and later a renown French chef Marie Antoine-Carême was the first to organize the French sauces into groups that were based on four foundational basics. Later, French chef Auguste Escoffier added one more sauce so that there were now five, which he systemized in recipe form in his classic 1903 Le Guide Culinaire.They're called mother sauces because each one is like the head of its own little special family (is that cute or what?):
+ Béchamel - This is a basic roux whisked with milk, butter and flour to make a white sauce, including Mornay and Cheese sauces; + Velouté - A velouté is a light roux whisked with chicken, turkey, fish or any other clear stock; + Espagnole - your basic brown sauce made with tomato purée and mirepoix (usually a combination of onions, celery and bell peppers) for deeper color and flavor, including Mushroom Sauce, Madeira Sauce and Port Wine Sauce; + Sauce Tomato - classic tomato sauce, the staple in Italian restaurants,plus expanded to include Creole and Provencale sauces; + Hollandaise - a rich egg yolk sauce known for topping Eggs Benedict and asparagus (Bernaise sauce is part of this "family");
These sauces are considered the foundations for many dishes and required learning by culinary students whether they specialize or not. You can be sure any Michelin rated restaurant has a saucier on staff, painstakingly whipping up all five sauces each day like a creative scientist, ready for whatever needs that special addition or smooth creamy topping. Besides his sauces, he (or she) will be simmering stocks from scratch, preparing gravies and soups.
So let's envision this for a minute. f you are lucky enough to dine in a top-rated restaurant, the sauce which envelopes your filet mignon will have been prepared by a bona fide sauce chef from scratch and will taste like it. If you are dining at the Olive Garden, you will be slurping down their standard tomato sauce (not that there's anything wrong with it) or a (probably) pre-packaged alfredo sauce. It will taste okay but nothing like it was prepared at a Thomas Keller, Gordon Ramsay or Wolfgang Puck Michelin-rated establishment. You'll also find sauciers in the kitchens of finer hotels like the Ritz Carlson and the Sofitel. By the same token, don't expect some line cook at Denny's to be stirring a pot of homemade Bordelaise red wine sauce for your steak and eggs. The waitress will slap down a bottle of ketchup on your table and ask if there will be anything else (okay, maybe some A-1 for those more discriminating palates).
When all is said and done, in your own kitchen save yourself some big time aggravation and just go to the supermarket, buy a couple of envelopes of Hollandaise sauce, mushroom sauce, brown gravy mix and a jar of tomato sauce and call it a day. You'll sleep better for sure. And we won't tell if you don't.

Foods of Russia
Tumblr media
In short, Russian cuisine can be divided into four main eras:
Old Russian cuisine (9th-16th centuries);
In the medieval period most Russian beverages turned national: mead, khmel, kvass, cider. Beer appeared in 1284. In 1440-1470s Russia discovered vodka made from rye grain. Until the 17th century milk and meat were not popular. Meat boiled in shchi (cabbage soup) or for kasha was not even roasted until the 16th century.
Old Moscow cuisine (17th century):
Starting with Peter the Great, Russian nobility borrowed some of West European culinary customs and traditions. Rich nobles who visited countries in Western Europe brought foreign chefs with them to expand their repertoire. It was at this time that minced meat was introduced into Russian cuisine: chops, casseroles, pates and rolls became quite popular, along with non-Russian (Swedish, German, French) soups, which appeared in the 17th century: solyanka, (beef soup) and rassolnik (potato and pickle soup) containing brines, lemons and olives appeared at the same time and were hppily integrated into the cuisine. It was during this period that such well-known delicacies as black caviar and salted, jellied fish appeared.
In the 16th century Kazan and Astrakhan Khanates along with Bashkiria and Siberia were annexed to Russia. New food products such as raisins (grapes), dried apricots, figs, melons, watermelons, lemons and tea made their first appearance, much to the delight of the populace. During the short growing season, even poor farmers could enjoy a variety of fresh fruits, along with drying them for the long winter months. Foreign chefs cooked their national dishes, which harmoniously fitted in Russian cuisine. There was also the time of German sandwiches, butter, French and Dutch cheeses.
Petersburg cuisine (end of the 18th century-1860s)
The French expanded the assortment of starters by adding a number of old Russian meat, fish, mushroom and sour vegetable dishes the variety of which can be a surprise for foreigners. Because cold weather could last as long as nine months in some regions, preserved foods were a large part of Russian cuisine, and households would store as much food as possible to last through the long winters. This included smoking, salting, soaking, and fermenting. Cabbage could be used all winter to make shchi, or be used as a filling for dumplings. Soaked apples were often served to guests or in some side dishes. Pickled cucumbers were a main ingredient in many dishes, including several traditional soups. Salted and dried meat and fish were eaten after religious and pre-holiday fasts. Overall, it was a pretty spartan diet, with most economic groups using what was available.
Traditional Russian foods are heavily influenced by filled dumplings, hearty stews, soups, potatoes and cabbage:
+Borscht one of Russia's best-known foods, a chunky, cold stew made with beets and topped with sour cream
+Beef Stroganoff - strips of beef sauteed in a sauce of butter, white wine, sour cream (called 'smetana' in Russia), mustard and onions; eaten either straight or poured over rice or noodles
+Sweet-and-Sour Cabbage - cooked in red wine vinegar, applesauce, butter and onions.diced apples, sugar, bay leaves
+Solyanka Soup - a hearty soup made from thick chunks of beef and/or pork, cooked for hours over a low flame with garlic, tomatoes, peppers and carrots
+Golubtsy.- Shredded or minced beef wrapped in cabbage and steamed/boiled until cooked; found all over Eastern Europe
+Olivie. - a kind of potato salad made with pickles, eggs, bologna and carrots mixed with mayo
+Blini - thin, crepe-like pancakces topped with savory or sweet toppings like minced beef, caviar, or apples
+Potato Okroshka.- cold soup made from buttermilk, potatoes and onions, garnished with dill; Vichyssoise (often attributed to the French, it was actually created at the Ritz Carlton in NYC in 1917 but of course disputed by French chefs, who insist they created it)
+Knish - mashed potatoes, ground beef, onions and cheese filled inside thick dough pastry and deep fried/baked
+Khinkali - dumplings of ground beef and cilantro
+Khachapuri - thick, crusty bread shaped like a boat and filled with a variety of melted cheese
+Zharkoye - a beef stew made with potatoes, carrots, parsley, and celery, spiced with garlic, cloves, and dill; served hot with sour cream
+Pelmeni - dumplings made from thin, unleavened dough, filled with minced meat, mushrooms and onions
+Shashlik - classic shesh kebab
+Tula Gingerbread - similar to our gingerbread, but may contain jam or nuts
+Pirozhki - pastries filled with meat, potatoes, cabbage or cheese, similar to Polish pierogi
+Morozhenoe (rich ice cream); well hey... now you're talkin'
+Chak-Chak (Russia's attempt at funnel cakes... would we make that up?)
You'll notice a distinct absence of fresh vegetable salads, seafood, pasta and rice.They are just not part of their basic diet. And of course Russia is certainly not known for their desserts. Even Chicken Kiev is generally credited to several NYC restaurants who claim they created it, not to any native Russian chef or restaurant. (gee... you can't believe anything these days).
So next time you get a hankering for some borscht or a kinkali, you just may have to whip it up yourself. There is not a preponderance of Russian restaurants anywhere in the U.S. nor the desire for them. Few people thnk of blinis or knish when planning Sunday dinner. But who knows? You might just discover a whole new world of cuisine when you stick your toe in the Russian diet (oh dear, that didn't come out right). Go for it.

Four Type of Spatulas You Can Choose From
Tumblr media
Basically, you can choose from 4 types of basic spatulas. Although there are many other types out there, they are not essential to meet your routine needs. Let's know more about 4 types of spatulas that you may need.
Fish Spatula
Although it seems fussy to opt for a single-use spatula, fish spatulas can be a great choice as they are multi-purpose. They have a long, angular design, which allows you to turn over a fish fillet with ease. You will find it much easier to fit a whole fillet on the turner and no part of the filler will flake off.
As said earlier, you can use this tool to flip pancakes, diner-style omelet, and grilled cheese. Usually, fish spatulas are stainless steel units. Moreover, they are durable and lightweight. However, if you are worried about scratches on its non-stick surface, know that you are out of luck.
However, the good news is that you can buy a pan that won't damage your non-stick pans. It can withstand temperatures of up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore, they are much more suitable for a cast-iron pan.
Scraper
A scraper is known as a rubber spatula as well. Since this product is not in the conventional flipper shape, you won't find it easier to use it for moving and turning heavy and solid foods.
However, the good news is that it's a good choice to prepare soft foods, such as scrambled eggs. This knife-shaped tool features a flat head on one side and a round head on the other side. Therefore, you can use this tool to access corners and scoop up from a mixing bowl or jar.
If you want to purchase a scraper, we suggest that you go for one that's in one piece. The problem with a model made of different parts is that their wooden handle has a rubber head that may get loose. Actually, this head should be heavy enough so you can stir with ease.
It's better to go for the GIR type for heat resistance. Plus, they are seamless enough to prevent food from sticking to weird parts. And the good thing is that the GIR types can be found in a lot of fun colors.
Wooden Turner
Wooden turner is a great kitchen workforce. As with the rubber spatula, you should opt for one that is made of the same material, not made of different parts joined together. Also, this is the kitchen tool that will stand the test of time.
Grilling
When it comes to buying a spatula, we will also discuss models that are suitable for grilling. So, what you need to do is consider two things: a long handle and stainless steel material. Ideally, the length should be between 16 and 19 inches. Aside from this, the folding handle will make it easier for you to store the unit. For instance, you can choose a serrated edge.
In short, these are the 4 popular types of spatulas you should buy. Hope these tips will help you get the right one.

Do You Know Where Does Your Seafood Come From?
Tumblr media
Sea provides us a lot of things. Food, livelihood, entertainment, and sailing are a few of them. You may imagine the usual scene of fishermen with their nets when you hear the term seafood but things have changed now.
Commercial companies have been employing high technology equipment to track and catch the fishes in the oceans. High-Technology equipment helps them catch a large number of fishes and other marine animals. But this is causing a serious impact on the ocean ecosystem. Fishes that are in high demand such as Salmon, Tuna and several others are hunt more. This results in the decline of these varieties in several parts of the world. This also includes some endangered and protected species.
Another problem associated with modern fishing is bycatch. The fishing industry uses the term bycatch to represent those unwanted fishes that come along with the target fishes. As these fishes are undesirable, they are thrown back into the sea dead or alive. With the growing competition and the demand, the situation is becoming worse day by day.
Fortunately, several individuals and non-profit organizations have joined the sustainable seafood movement started in 1990 to save the oceans. However, their contributions alone would not be enough to change the current situation. Everyone has to take responsibility and perform the necessary things.
Now what should you do? Well, you can do a lot of things. Being a consumer, the first thing you can do is to buy sustainable seafood. Brands and companies that provide sustainable seafood take into concern issues such as overfishing, bycatch that are seriously damaging the ocean ecosystem. They follow certain rules and standards set by international communities such as FAQ. This includes certain practices such as no target stocking, use of selective fishing gear, no bycatch, etc.
You can also drive the market for sustainable seafood by demanding sustainable seafood from local restaurants. The consumer can eat those fishes that are caught locally or that are lower in the food chain such as codfish. It would be great to educate yourself on endangered species and avoid eating them.
You can also go with farm fishes. These fishes are raised in a closed environment or a pond. It doesn't matter where you are thinking to buy your fish from, but make sure that it is posing minimum effect on the nearby habitat. Whether the fishes are placed in the open ocean or raised in a pond, the structure should be built in harmony with the environment.
Take the first step towards conserving the ecosystem by choosing sustainable seafood. And don't forget to check the Eco-logo on the product.

What Are the Benefits of Eating Sustainable Seafood?
Tumblr media
As more and more doctors are recommending seafood, it has become difficult to take into consideration the sustainability and ecosystems associated with fishing.
What is a sustainable fish? Does the risk associated with fishing exceed the health benefits of fish? What one should eat, raised fish or wild fish? Well, there can be a number of questions where one can get lost. So, let's understand what are the benefits of eating sustainable fishes?
1. They are healthy Numerous sustainable fishes are high in protein, nutrients, minerals, and heart-sound omega-3s while containing low measures of destructive synthetic chemicals. Overfish fish, for example, Salmon and Tuna, as a general rule, contain Mercury, PCBs, and contaminants. Bigger fish that are higher up on the food chain will, in general, have more elevated levels of unsafe synthetic chemicals because of bioaccumulation. Thus, sustainable seafood is pure and healthy.
2. You have to spend less money on them Sustainable fishes such as trout and Arctic char are quite affordable, unlike salmon. You can also buy farm-raised fishes instead of expensive wild-caught fish to save your money.
3. You can consume seafood in the form of fish oil One can gain the immense benefits of eating seafood by consuming it in the form of supplements and fish oil. The fish oil is obtained from fishes that are caught to feed humans as well as from the fishes that are caught to feed animals. Buying sustainable fish oil and supplements not only benefits your health but also benefits the ocean's ecosystems.
4. It will help you support local farmers Local farmers survive on small scale fisheries, unlike big commercial fishing companies that can hunt fishes in large amounts using modern gears and fleets. By choosing sustainable seafood and third-party certified products, you will help poor farmers to earn their living.
Is it wise to stop eating fish? Several people claim that one should stop eating fish as the oceans are getting depleted of marine life. We think it is not the solution because several fishermen are dependent on fishes for their livelihood plus fish is packaged with a lot of health benefits. They are high in nutrients, vitamins, minerals and high-quality. They contain omega-3 fatty acids, which is vital for a healthy body and reduces the risk of disease such as heart attacks.
They boost brain health, prevent depressions, reduce the risk of autoimmune diseases, and can improve sleep quality and many more.
Fish is a delicious food having a lot of health benefits. So, instead of taking a drastic step, you must take a certain step that can benefit both the environment's being and human health. The best way to achieve this is to start looking for sustainable seafood.
How to check if the seafood you are buying is sustainable or not? Sustainable fish has become an intriguing issue in the previous decade because of worries of overfishing and seabed harming fishing practices. For fish to be described as sustainable, numerous elements are considered like what sort of feed is given to the fish if it is cultivated raised, ecological effect of fishing, angling strategies, and current stock of the fish, etc.
There are numerous sustainable seafood certifications and programs that work in collaboration with fisheries, farms, and companies to promote sustainable seafood practices and to guarantee a protected, solid and responsible fish supply. You can check for these certifications when you are going to buy groceries. You can also look in for sustainability options when you are going to eat at a nearby restaurant.
According to the report of the international union for conservation on wild fishes, more than 85 percent of the world's fisheries are completely misused. So, picking reasonably cultivated fish lessens the weight on wild fisheries and permits them to reproduce.
At last, seafood is a wonderful source of protein, omega 3 fatty acids, but to create the right balance among the fish, humans, and oceans nothing is better than opting for sustainable seafood choices.
Sustainable seafood healthy and having a lot of health benefits. You can buy Friend of the Sea certifies Sustainable Seafood.

According to statistics, 48 million people fall sick because of food borne illnesses, 3,000 lose their lives from food poisoning, and 128,000 are hospitalized. Given below are some common reasons why food safety is so important.
1. First of all, if the available drinks or foods are not safe, you can't have them. For instance, if water is not free of harmful elements, you may fall sick from drinking dirty water. The same rule applies to different types of food.
2. People from across the globe fall sick from contaminated food or drink on a daily basis. Food poisoning occurs because of parasites, viruses and bacteria found in different food products.
3. There is no clear way of identifying if a food product is contaminated. The reason is that you can't detect unhealthy substances in food by using your sense of taste, smell or see.
4. According to many reports, food poisoning may cause dehydration, gastroenteritis or many serious problems like kidney failure. In some cases, the patients may even pass away.
5. The risk of food poisoning is greater in those who are babies, kids, the elderly or pregnant moms. Similarly, patients of cancer, HIV infections and other major diseases are also more prone to the effects of contaminated food.
With food safety and hygiene, it's possible to prevent the multiplication of germs and bacteria. So, they don't reach dangerous levels.
6. It's important to keep yourself healthy and avoid spending money on medication and regular check-ups. And this is of paramount importance for companies as they lose billions of dollars because of employee downtime each year.
7. In most cases, food poisoning occurs because of poor hygiene, such as not washing hands properly before eating. Therefore, it's important to follow proper hygiene practices. In other words, hand washing is more important for those who work in kitchen.
Another major cause of food poisoning is cross-contamination. This process transfers bacteria to different foods. For instance, the contaminants can transfer from raw food to products that are all set to be sold.
It's important to know how bacteria and viruses spread. The idea is to find out how to prevent the spread of these unhealthy elements. Therefore, good hygiene practices are essential for both factories and common users. The food sold by these production units must be safe to eat.
Long story short, these are some of the main reasons why you may want to follow food hygiene practices. Aside from this, food testing is also important to ensure what you eat is free of bacteria, viruses and other stuff that may have a negative impact on your health and the health of your family.
The importance of food hygiene can't be denied. Therefore, if you are looking for a food safety test, you can check out Ballya.
