You know what was eye opening about the funeral for me?

It wasn't at all what I expexted.

I expected a devastated Harry (who's not very good holding back his emotions) and instead I got a grieving but stoic Harry, and a broken and emotional William.

I expexted Bea, Euge and Zara to cry their eyes out, and got three very at peace looking ladies, and Peter breaking down in tears.

I expexted Anne, the one who is most like her father to go through it like a boss. I saw a grieving daughter with red eyes barely holding back tears and leaning on her husband and children.

I expexted rules, pomp and precedence. I got a ceremony where everyone was just a child, grandchild, nephew, niece, cousin, friend, beloved staff. Al together, all mixed, all there for each other.

I expexted a cold, distant, quintesentially British and Royal family. And I saw Sophie blowing her nose, Charles weeping during the procession, everyone conforting everyone on the walk back, the Queen looking for her family's support, Catherine crying and Sophie going straight into "auntie mode", rebuilt bridges and eyes all over. Family love. Public love.

What I'm trying to say is that I realised we don't know this people at all, and that at the end of the day these were normal people on their papa and grandpa's funeral.

I hope the let us see behind the curtain more often. All my love to Philip's boys and girls.
