A detail I just noticed.

Pav is panicking because this is probably the 1st big disaster that's happened to him in his time as Spiderman.

Miles, seeing that, puts a comforting hand on his shoulder before proceeding to give instructions in damage control.

you had yet to see, hiding further back under the protection of the cafe's awning, the rain only pouring down harder as the seconds passed.

a frown rested itself upon your face as you sighed.

the one day you and pavitr found time in your schedules to go out together on an actual date, one you spent so long planning, ruined because of some silly rain.

"-rain's not gonna stop."

speaking of pavitr- he spoke up, reading off the news on his phone before putting it away, "we really should've checked the weather beforehand, huh?"

he snorted and shook his head, nudging you playfully, only to receive a small 'yeah' in response.

now was when he turned and got a good look at your dejected expression, a terrible contrast to the cheery you wore before the water came.

"honey, you okay?"

"yeah 'm fine, it's just..." you sniff, "i was really looking forward to today an-and who knows when we'll both be available to go out like this again. i'm so busy with school and work and you are too.."

you weren't sure why this had you so emotional, it's not like you guys never saw each other, that was quite frequently actually.

maybe it was just the hard work that went into it and the hope of spending some quality time together outside each other's houses or classes...

pavitr frowned, matching your own face as you turned away from him, suddenly embarrassed as you rubbed at your glossy eyes.

"sorry, pav."

he looked from you to the rain, his brows furrowing together in thought and as if a light bulb went off in his head, and in a quick move, he ran out into the rain, surprising you.

"pav!"

"we are not gonna let some water ruin our day,"

he refused to let that happen, refused to the weather ruin your day, the date, and most importantly, make his precious beloved upset.

it was like out of a movie scene, some sort of cheesy romcom, as the water continued to pour down and soak him, his hair falling flat on his head and obscuring some of his sight, hand extending towards you, the dopiest grin on his face.

"dance with me?"

you stared for a few seconds, astonished at how good pavitr looked despite it all, cheeks slowly flushing as your hand hesistantly reached out to his.

"what if we get si-"

he pulled you into the rain with him, cutting off your sentence as the cold rain and pavitr's beaming face embraced you, not helping the grin that overcame your own face.

taking your other hand in his, he spun you around into his chest before back out, short giggles turning into cheerful laughter as he continued to spin you around, performing silly dance moves just to hear your laughter more.

with gwen and hobie being friends in across the spider-verse and hobie being so super cool i do hope that there is some acknowledgement of the origins of their friendship

aka - hobie brown is a gwen stacy fanboy and is immediately excited to meet her and then they play some world-saving punk rock music together

with pavitr having his hair out of the mask, and hugging gayatri when he saves her, and having The Worst attempt at disguising his voice out of all the spiderkids (which is saying something, when you're up against miles and gwen) - i love the idea that everybody in mumbattan absolutely knows that pavitr prabhakar is spider-man, but all have an unspoken agreement to never actually acknowledge it, because he's sweet and helpful and god, he's just a kid.

tourists and visitors and people just moving there will gesture to his very visible and easily identifiable hair and open their mouths to comment on it, and the nearest Seasoned Member of the Pavitr Prabhakar Defense Committee™ will slap a hand over their mouth and wrangle them in the opposite direction before they can blow his cover and get him arrested

I was thinking about how genuinely heartbreaking it was for Pavitr’s last line in the movie to be “Is everything going to be okay?” No one responds to his question either, Gwen can’t seem to even look at him. He stands there looking so confused and sad as he watches Mumbattan be enveloped by this black hole.

What's upsetting is that the death of a couple billionaires who willingly put themselves in that situation will most likely go into history books. While the death of migrants who didn't have a choice at Greece will be shoved under the rug. I would like to be proven wrong, though. Life of any kind is precious, and each one should be given the same amount of empathy and respect.

this is a miles morales appreciation post!! i am so proud of him for being spider-man and not letting others tell him he doesn’t belong. i am so proud of him for choosing to make his own path and not doing it like anyone else. i am so proud of him for changing the narrative to try to save his dad. i am so proud of him for having the courage to tell his mom he’s spider-man. i! love! miles!
