You will be too much for some people. Too loud, too soft. Too this, too that. But you always be perfect for the people who need you.

Cassey (@blogilates) shared this thought when she was talking about her “haters” the other day.
Someone wrote her a mean comment–something about her butt not being good enough because “she doesn’t even lift”–and this was the perfect response.
You should NEVER assume you know anything about a person’s exercise or eating habits (or anything about them really) just based on their outward appearance. You don’t know them and you don’t know their story and you have no right to judge them or throw mean or degrading comments their way.
I know most of you already know this and practice it in your day to day lives and on social media (because you all are FREAKIN’ AWESOME) but I still wanted to put it out there because I think this message still needs some amplification.
Please reblog if you agree!

Lemony Snicket's Advice on Writing a Nice Thank-You Note
1. Do not start with the thank you.
2. Start with any other sentence. If you first say, “Thank you for the nice sweater,” you can’t imagine what to write next. Say, “It was so wonderful to come home from school to find this nice sweater. Thank you for thinking of me on Arbor Day.”
3. Then you’re done.
I recommend learning how to write a very good thank-you note. A child who can write a nice thank-you note can turn into a cocaine dealer five years later and be remembered as the child who wrote nice thank-you notes.

The difference of a year. Im not sure what I weighed in the first pic. I think around 350lbs, my highest weight being 365lbs. The pic today is around 282lbs. For five months I lost/gained the same 15lbs by trying to use techniques that wouldnt work, eating small bits of poor food, and hardly working out. Mid-December I finally decided it was time to stick to low carb (which is doc recommended for my thyroid) and work out 3 times a week. With school I havent worked out as much, but I still feel good and am losing weight. This just gave me the push to get a small salad instead of pasta at dinner tomorrow, and follow my goals. I wish I could see my progress when I look at myself, part of me worries Ill always see who I was 80lbs ago, but Im not going to focus on that. I have summer to prepare for. 😄đŸ’Ș

One of the biggest de-motivators for those on a massive weight loss journey or those who are significantly overweight isn’t the exercise or the eating its just knowing your journey is going to be unbelievably long.
Its not going to be a 30-day-to fit and skinny thing, Its a 2-3 years of daily regimented eating, changing a lifetime of bad habits, habits that other people do not understand or care to empathise with. Its the probability of excess skin that you cant afford to remove.
2-3 years of self sabotage, hormones and mood swings, sabotage by those in your life who think its funny to see you fail. Its not one dress size down, its 5-10 dress sizes down. Its expensive, its exhausting, its physically painful doing thing at your biggest that appears easy to other people. You get waves of support, jealousy, suspicion, judgement
. for 2-3 years
So yeah, “just eat healthy and everything will be fine!”
.. yes it will be, but please don’t forget the length of our journey ahead can be massively overwhelming.

Change your mindset. Educate yourself. Stay positive. Cut shitty people off. Eat healthy. Focus on your goals. Spend some time alone. Read books. Drink more water. Take care of your skin.

I’ve realized that for so long I was waiting for perfect conditions, but now I just need possible conditions. I just need possible. And that’s all.

For what it’s worth: It’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over.
