I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

Something I wanted to tackle, that I've been thinking on for a while, is the accusation that trans people uphold the patriarchy by reinforcing gender roles. You see this accusation most from gender critical radical feminists. And it definitely did make me think. Do trans people reinforce the gender binary? When a trans person takes on the clothes and behaviors of the "opposite sex/gender", are they just reinforcing the binary?

If you believe the only kinds of trans people who exist are gender-conforming binary trans people, then I can see how you'd come to that conclusion. That's not true, obviously. GNC trans people exist all over the place. Plus, a trans person being trans is literally a defiance of the roles they were assigned at birth. It is literally looking the patriarchy in the eye and saying "No, you do not get to tell me who I am based on my genitals". It is a defiance of bioessentialism.

A trans person is doing things normally not associated with their assigned sex, and that is inherently transgressive and is in fact breaking down the gender binary. We are very distinctly showing that these behaviors are not attached to birth sex.

And I think that's what it boils down to for me, personally.

If the whole idea is that "anyone can do anything they want", "birth sex does not predetermine your role in society", and if gender is a social construct, then trans people are literally on the cutting edge of defying the patriarchy's bioessentialist expectations of how people should behave.

If you claim to be gender critical and support GNC people, why do you not support trans people? If you support a cis woman choosing to be feminine, why is it bad for a trans woman to be feminine? And on top of that, if you don't consider the trans woman to be a woman, then you consider her to be a man, which means in your mind she's a GNC man breaking down the gender stereotypes associated with men by being a feminine man. Isn't that what you want???

Either way, it just doesn't make any sense to me to be anti trans. Y'all hate GNC people too, you just don't want to admit it.

begging queer kids to read up on princess diana’s involvement with the community. yes, she was a rich, pretty monarch. yes, she died young.

but the reason why queer people love her is because she used her privilege during the aids crisis to advocate for sick queer men, when very few others would - much less someone of her status.

diana spent years advocating for the health and care of queer people with hiv/aids. in 1987, at the height of the epidemic, she opened the first specialist clinic dedicated to treating aids patients (the first clinic of it’s kind in the uk).

she also fought public hysteria by hugging and shaking bare hands with aids patients, at a time when aids was thought to be spread by skin to skin contact. not only that, she visited patients in the clinic regularly and even comforted them through their sickness.

and when queen elizabeth told her to try focusing on “something more pleasant”?

diana ignored her and kept fighting.

and this is only her work towards the aids crisis. she publicly called out the royal family, brought attention to numerous world issues, and was known as an advocate for empathy and kindness. she’s known and loved as the people’s princess for good reason

i personally think there is a huge moral problem in the government/country when millions of pounds are going to be spent on the funeral and the subsequent coronation when people cannot afford to heat their homes and feed their children

amid the celebrations about the queen probably dying soon, we need to remember how this will negatively affect the country. there will be millions spent on a funeral and charles’s coronation while we are in the middle of a severe economic crisis and working class families are having to choose between heating and food. it will take attention away from all the important politics and parliament may be suspended. all news and television will be about her death and her reign — it’s been said that comedy programmes will be cancelled for potentially up to a fortnight out of ‘respect’.

yes, celebrate this news. but her death does not erase the fact that the monarchy exists, and it will be a spit in the face for working people when the money we all so desperately need is spent on her and the rest of her family
