i love fur, i love leather, i love wool, i love long lasting materials without plastic in them that will decompose and go back into the ecosystem after serving me well for several decades.
Something something. The way the nail bat is one of the longest-running and most heavily associated pieces of imagery for Steve. The way the nail bat was passed from hand to hand from Nancy to Jonathan before it came to Steve. The way Nancy was the first to have it first, to hold it, to bring it into the world of monster hunting, while Jonathan drove the nails through it, brought out the danger within it, and weaponized it. The way Steve had the choice as to whether or not he would go back and pick it up, but it was the cries of Nancy and Jonathan that ultimately helped push him to make the decision. The way it is a tangible manifestation of the ways in which Nancy and Jonathan both positively influenced Steve’s character. The way they incensed him to be stronger, grow taller, stop running, and be true to who he really is. The way they provided him with what he needed to be a protector and fully begin to step into the role that he later becomes known for.
