There's a moment when Madi straightens upon the "affirmative," having chill go down their mechanical spine. It clicks and buzzes as they adjust their posture, forcing their body tall once again from cervical to lumbar. A reminder.

"Do what you need, you will not hurt me." Their arms fall to the side as Ethan stands, leaving Madi underneath him for a moment as they put Spades' glove back on. As that happens Madi feels Spades relax once again.

"We've been down this road before, we can try it again."

Slowly Madi looks at Spades' gloved hand for a moment, eventually peeling the leather off to reveal a pale hand. They check Ethan's forehead for temperature, using the back of his hand while avoiding eye contact.

"If you need to sleep it off, I got you. I'll watch your back so nothing happens." Now they look at him, confident as ever but gentle. "I've got strength if need be too."

Madi moves back to Ethan's side, feeling the glare from Spades and ignoring them. They move a hand to feel his forehead before hesitating, "may I?"
