this is going to be an unpopular opinion but you should 100% make going to college the default, especially if you don't live in the US. not having a degree has bitten me in the ass like a rabid dog. if you do live in the US just tell your kids to go anywhere in Europe, like for bachelors/masters/PhD all of it.

"you can make it without a degree" is definitely true but honestly, it's 3-4 years at the age most people don't do shit w their lives anyway & just having one gets you a lot of utility
