Would you mind doing some Frodo x fem!reader headcanons where there's a baby on the way? I feel like there'd be a lot of worrying on both sides since they're different species and human x hobbit relationships don't seem to happen too often 😔

Lately, you haven’t been acting normal.  As observant as Frodo is, he noticed your symptoms from the start.  You’re moody, you’ve gained a sudden aversion to what was once your favorite foods, and you’ve felt more nauseous than usual.

He’s had suspicions from the beginning, so when the news finally breaks out, Frodo’s not surprised.  Despite the initial worry, Frodo always imagined a future with you, complete with a budding family living under the hill at Bag End.  The idea’s lingered in the back of his mind for who knows how long, and maybe it’s his inner hobbit speaking, but Frodo deeply longs for that domestic life with you.

He spends most of his time reading and researching parenting books lent by Sam.  As a result, books and notes that entirely engulf his workspace now clutter his office.  Although, no matter how many books he reads, it doesn’t detract from Frodo’s anxiety.

Furthermore, he keeps a note of potential names on his desk.  Suppose it’s a boy, then Frodo wants to honor Bilbo and Sam by naming him after one of them.  If it’s a girl, you and Frodo already decided on a flowery name like Petunia or Marigold.

When the effects on your body begin showing, he goes out of his way to prevent you from doing anything strenuous.  After bending over to clean a dusty corner of the upcoming nursery, Frodo insisted you refrain from overexerting yourself, and he then suggested you take a rest instead.  You’ll tell him countless times that you’ll be alright, but Frodo always responds skeptically.

Frodo does most of the chores to ensure you don’t exhaust yourself.  In the morning, he wakes you up with breakfast in bed, and in the evenings, he draws you a warm bath after dinner.  However, his overprotectiveness can be overbearing.  You aren’t as fragile as Frodo thinks, and though his actions are out of love, they can also be frustrating.

He tries not to panic, although his efforts are in vain.  Frodo’s looked to nearly everyone he knows for counsel– especially Sam and Rosie.  Although, they all give him the same advice, assuring him not to panic.  Human-hobbit relationships aren’t exactly common in the shire; after all, it’s not often that big folk come to visit their lands.  Though you don’t exactly ease his thoughts with your worrying either, Frodo constantly tries to reassure you (and himself) that everything will be alright.

⋆ ˚ ✦ thanks for requesting and for your patience! apologies for the delay. small tangent, but i was also really surprised when i found out about the lack of frodo ff LMAO. i thought he'd be more popular.

Frodo is submissive-leaning.  He was a bit shy during your first time together and had little to no experience before meeting you.  However, he's immensely attentive and likes to learn from you; he constantly asks if you feel good.

The entire time, Frodo wants to make sure you’re alright.  He doesn’t want to do anything you’re not comfortable with.

One thing Frodo would never do is hurt you, physically or verbally.  He never wants to see you in pain, much less be the one inflicting that pain.

He loves when you're vocal and receptive to his touch, so he knows you're enjoying yourself without asking you outright.

Frodo’s vocal as well, mainly because he can't help himself.  Whenever he receives oral, he’s reduced to an incoherent mess, rambling your name while he gasps.  His hands gently tug on your hair, and his mind can only focus on how gorgeous you look in the moment.

On the topic of oral, Frodo prefers to give it than receive it.  After receiving, Frodo's always eager to return the favor and loves seeing you feel good.  He's messy when he does it, pumping his fingers inside you while watching you squirm, savoring the sounds you're making.

Frodo loves using his fingers and is great at using them.  His fingers are long and slender; they also don’t tire often.

He loves being intimate and romantic with you at the moment.  Frodo prefers positions where he can feel all of you; he likes to hold your hand and kiss you during missionary.  Usually, his pace is slow and sensual but sometimes comes off as sloppy.

Frodo loves whispering quiet praises in your ear, telling you how much he loves you and how pretty you are.  He always reminds you how much you're loved, especially when the two of you are being intimate.

Though he likes being romantic, that doesn't mean he's serious during the act.  Sometimes, he'll banter back and forth with you.

He’ll finish wherever you want, but if he had to choose, he likes coming on your chest.  Frodo’s also excessively vocal when he comes, often praising you and stammering about how much he loves you and how beautiful you are, despite being awfully out of breath.

When the moment’s over, Frodo likes pulling your body closer to his, reveling in the sweet afterglow until you fall asleep in each other’s arms.

please specify if you want the reader to be human, elf, dwarf, etc. otherwise, i'll default to human.

no requests involving topics such as domestic abuse, suicide/self-harm, eating disorders, racism, or homophobia.

⋆ ˚ ✦ a/n - first time writing for lotr (also requests are open)!!! i just watched the movies, and i love them!!! frodo and pippin have my heart!

Most of the time, Frodo just wants to feel your touch, eager to feel any semblance of a former life.  He often keeps his hands busy, fiddling with the ring in his pocket or biting on his fingernails.  Frodo loves having your hand in his, with it being a constant reassurance that everything will be alright.

Moreover, Frodo likes when you play with his hair.  Whenever the two of you have a moment to rest, you often find yourself braiding his curly locks and daydreaming out loud.  He tells you stories Bilbo told him as a child (more specifically, the reclaiming of Erebor, with the omission of Bilbo’s wildly exaggerated details) while you languidly twirl his hair around your finger, enjoying one of the few and rare moments of tranquility.

The other hobbits relentlessly tease Frodo about his profound admiration towards you.  Frodo talks about you to anyone willing to listen (usually Samwise Gamgee) and rambles about you in journals.  While Merry playfully teases Frodo for his lovesick ramblings, Sam thinks they’re romantic.

Whenever you and Frodo have a moment to rest, he finds solace in your company, content with simple silence.  Above all else, Frodo simply enjoys your presence; the thought of you alone soothes him and puts his mind at ease.

Most nights end with being in each other’s arms, huddled against him for warmth, as he lulls you to sleep with a Hobbit lullaby from his childhood.  It’s difficult to sleep on a bed of rocks and without soft sheets, but there’s some comfort found in Frodo’s words.  However, not all nights are as serene and quiet; there are nights you and Frodo remain restless and converse for hours, reminiscing about better times.  Yet, no matter how melancholy you may be, those nights always end in the same way: Frodo peppering kisses all over your cheeks and whispers of I love you.

With each step toward Mordor, memories of the Shire grow fainter.  As a ringbearer, the stark possibility of death looms over his mind, haunting him as a nightmare does to one in slumber.  To him, it’s inevitable. In return, he never passes up the opportunity to express his admiration, realizing that every moment with you might be his last.

Frodo knows you better than you know yourself.  The hobbit is a great listener; he memorizes the little and nonsensical things like your favorite flower, food, and color.

He’s also attentive and catches on to your emotions quickly.  If you’re feeling downhearted, Frodo will lend his ears and listen, helping to quell the unease inside you.

Despite the circumstances, you always bring a smile to Frodo’s face.  Your companionship makes Frodo easily forget about the ring around his neck and the horrors you’ve faced since the departure from Bag End.  In his eyes, you’re a gift from the heavens, and he’s forever grateful that you’ve chosen to stay by his side.
