About the Human Mind

The human mind is complex and fragile. It influences a person's thoughts, feelings, and behavior. It requires a lot of communication skills, emotional intelligence and interpersonal awareness to fully learn its complexity and fragility. For this reason, I will be pursuing psychology in college. I personally find it to be a fascinating area to study. And as an aspiring psychologist, I believe I can apply my knowledge to benefit the mental wellbeing of many people.

All Cats are Black, a film by Green Renaissance (2019)

I am fond of films that discuss the experiences and struggles of different people. This may be because I have always wanted to know what is going on inside a person's head. My curiosity towards a person's mental state is rooted in my deep desire to understand them; their thoughts and feelings. Watching films like this are one of the few reasons why I want to become a psychologist. I struggled as a person as well, which is why I'd like to be the reason why people feel heard, valued, supported, and understood.

I took this photo of my Kuya while we were out for a stroll. We're always down for a good stroll and we'd always bring our phones to take pictures of the scenery. Typically, the sky, river, sun, and the moon.

Sometimes the world can be too loud and messy. Whenever we are walking, there is always a moment of peace and silence. I quite enjoy it. The continuous sounds of our footsteps and our dog's footsteps, the feeling of our hairs being blown by the weak breeze, and the smell of newly baked bread when passing near the bakery is truly a calming experience.

Motherhood

This passage reminded me of my mother. My emotions are her emotions and my thoughts are hers as well. My experiences deeply impact her yet she never stops being a mother to me. Being a mother truly isn't an easy responsibility. Other mothers would withdraw themselves from their responsibilities but my mother would not. She chooses to accept me for who I am and she sees the beauty in me. She is a strong woman and I love her even more for that.

Once, my friend and I got lost on our way back from the beach. Neither of us knew the directions nor have access to the internet. So, we just kept on walking. We ventured out into the woods while laughing at our own misfortune. We did that probably for about 30 minutes before we even found a tricycle driver. I wouldn't mind getting lost with her again. Having her with me makes any experience much more fun than it should be.

Overcoming Creative Stagnation with Precious

I met one of my closest friends today. We ate fries, drank boba, and walked around the local market. After taking multiple trips around the town, we both agreed to take a rest on their place. She introduced me to her recent artwork—a painting of a pink sky with pastel-colored clouds. Apparently, she's gained a liking to painting as well. We started painting to past the time. While doing so, we talked and talked for what felt like minutes.

"Ngayon lang ulit ako nakapag-painting," I mentioned to her. "Ngayon ko lang ulit nailabas ang kadaldalan ko," she replied.

I can't help but to smile after hearing that. It feels as though that we bring the best in each other and I cannot be any more happier than that. I think she is an amazing friend and I hope she also sees me that way.
