☘ Medieval & Fantasy Sims 4 Mods List ☘

i gave up and created my own fantasy/medieval cc list! 🌜 it includes both gameplay mods & cc items; not only themed but general ones too (ok it's basically my mods folder with links). i hope someone may find it helpful and will find something new there! 🌿 i will also be adding more to this list over time.

pose tutorial

since i’ve gotten some questions on how to change the position of a pose, here’s a tutorial. it works the same with other creator’s poses; except that the keyframes (white dots) won’t be as neat as here. i tried to keep it as simple as possible, so hopefully you’ll understand it even if you’re not a pro at blender. i use blender 2.70!

make sure you’re in pose mode!!

click on the first pose

select the rig by clicking “A” (the dots will turn blue!)

move the rig however you want (moving it up about 0.33 will make it pretty centered in CAS when zooming in)

click “i” on your keyboard and click LocRot

copy the keyframes of your new pose (the row of orange dots) and paste them 50 frames away (this is how i time my poses, others might do it differently!)

repeat the steps for all poses

select all keyframes and the rig, make sure you stay in pose mode!!

save your .blend file

import the new file into sims4studio

done!

This ZIP includes my kid/tot conversions and recolors of the following fairy outfits originally by the amazing @jarusims:

Aurora v1 || Aurora v2 || Daisy v1 || Daisy v2 || Leona v3 || Selina v1

Each outfit includes Jarusims' original 8 color options as the first 8 and an additional 16+ options recolored by me.

The original CC by jarusims is not required for this CC to work, although there are other CC items that are (see the required section), but let's be real, if you're downloading these for your kid/toddler sims you probably already have the adult versions!

In order to get the same sort of effect as in my preview pics, you need to download the recommended No Top mod! Otherwise, your female children will still be able to wear the fairy outfits, but they'll be forced to wear a top over them. Invisible-Pants-for-Toddlers and Invisible-Pants-for-Child mods are included in the set download.

TS4 Modding Community Questions

When a modder says ‘recolors welcome so long as you don’t provide the mesh’ should you still reach out to the modder first prior to publishing anywhere, just as a matter of etiquette?

When a modder says ‘don’t modify my mesh’, does that include converting it from adult to child or toddler size? Is there a way to do that that requires the user to download the original mesh, the way you can do with recolors/retextures? I’d like to share my kid/toddler versions of @sclub-privee‘s fairy wings, for example, but I’m not sure how to make them dependent on the original download.

Is there a way to use another mod’s textures on your own or a different mesh that requires the user to download the original mod in order for it to work? Is there a way to use a modified texture that still requires a download of the original texture? My male versions of @jarusims‘s fairy outfits, for example, are literally the same textures with like�� part of the chest shadows erased so it doesn’t look odd on a flat-chested sim (although even the textures as are look fairly decent once they’re no longer coupled with the female-specific body mesh). I’m guessing those and a lot of my merkid/baby mertail recolors aren’t going to be kosher to share but I’m hoping it isn’t particularly offensive to still show pictures of them.

another proof-of-concept post! except this time I'm not quite sure what I did that finally made it work. whatever, the point is I can now have faechildren dressed up in @jarusims fairy outfits, so this is a win

Proof of concept!

I took @jarusims's selina fairy outfit, modified the texture to not have a bust as such, and then shamelessly combined that texture with the mesh used by karine78's universal scales (glove accessory). Used @mizoreyukii's invisible bottoms to make it display properly.

Wings are an unpublished personal recolor of @suzuesims' aria wings (I have no idea what I'm doing either technically or etiquette wise, I just love having all of the options always) and elf ears are also by @suzuesims.

colored 3D eyelashes are by @sclub-privee! and the skin is of course by @remussirion.
