(Because politics is a popularity contest.)
Note: occasionally I have obsession spirals and end up with hundreds of things I reblog. (I queue them so it hopefully bothers no one.) Sorry for the flooding. 😅 You can block me. (You can also flood me!)
You're not a bad person for wasting food because you forgot to eat it or left it out or didn't have the time/energy/executive function to prepare it or didn't have an appetite or whatever. Unlearn the guilt your parents taught you.
It's really funny that redditors convinced themselves that the stupid Tiananmen Square copypasta is going to get chinese people forcefully disconnected from their internet service or something while the UK government will get your ass if you complete the sentence "Soldier F is ___" and has actively worked with google and with social media websites to censor posts or search results about Soldier F
And stepping away is not cold shoulder/silent treatment.
You say, "I am feeling [this] right now, and need to take a break." Then you go think or calm down or both.
They understand that you are taking time to think or calm down.
With cold shoulder/silent treatment, you do not do it to think or calm down. You do not communicate. You seethe, you expect an apology, you do not promise a productive next conversation.
And that is an important part of stepping back. Every conversation should be productive. It should make things clear, or it should resolve feelings, etc.
With me and my darling, we also still tell each other, "I love you." Because we are angry, but we are not wanting each other to feel terrible.
Remember that the right person will never get tired of you even in the worst times
this doesnt seem like a popular opinion on here but sometimes i like when characters die. sometimes its needed to raise the stakes and sometimes its the end best befitting of the character and sometimes its needed to move the narrative forward and sometimes its the only way a character would believably leave their story behind and sometimes it just spices things up a bit. sometimes its fun to watch characters die . sorry
I will say I get the vibe that a lot of peoples interest and support for strikers is a bit too much for a vicarious ‘burn it down’ thrill, rather than for the actual goals of a strike.
Like UPS has agreed to come back to the table and it is very possible they will concede to Union demands and avert a strike. And if that happens (so long as the union does not make concessions on its key demands) it’s a good thing. It’s a victory for the laborers. It is the same ultimate conclusion that a strike would intend to produce except without the workers having to go on (not so great) strike pay for a week or two.
If your sole disability is fibro, putting you in a chair or on crutches, you're disabled.
If your sole disability is autism, you're disabled.
If your sole disability is depression, you're disabled.
But if your sole disability is physical, you're not part of neuropunk or madpunk.
If your sole disability is neurodivergency, you're not part of cripplepunk or madpunk.
If you're sole disability is mental illness, you're not part of cripplepunk or neuropunk.
That's not a bad thing! Theyre just terms for communities to come together with people who have the same experiences in that niche.
No one is any more important than the other.
And yeah, maybe you've got comorbidities that cross groups, but if you don't, you're not missing out because you're not part of another group.
If I'm Filipino, I'm not going to crash a group for Pakistanis, even if we're both Asian. Especially when I have my own Filipino group. Even if we both experience racism.
It's unfair to co-opt a group you don't belong to, when you're struggles aren't theirs, even if they're similar.
We NEED our own groups and our own communities, but we're all still disabled.
We all know what it's like when abled friends and carers think they know what our struggles are, or how it feels, just through proximity. We know you really can't understand unless you've been there, and how lonely that is.
Don't force yourselves into spaces that weren't created for you.
We all have a space to go to.
(And yes, the brain is part of the body, but you know that's not what those groups are for. You know that's splitting hairs.)
It’s very hard for me to think about how I went to college and volunteered and got scholarships and passed classes like human neuroanatomy only for it all to add up to nothing. just me alone in this stupid apartment with all my stupid disabilities. I feel hopeless
not "I hate it here" as in "I want to leave" but "I hate it here" as in "this is a list of the 50 counties in the whole united states with the lowest life expectancy and Kentucky is 14 of them"
