Jaret slid the sliding glass door open, cracking his knuckles before he walked through and slid it shut again behind him. Work was long, like always, but coming home to his wife and kid made his heart squirm. Wriggle? Turn? ...Flutter. That was the word. Stepping forward, Jaret took Bee’s hand, ready for the splashes to his person to commence. When they came, he wasn’t surprised, leaning down to give his wife a kiss. “Hey, baby.”

With a hum, Jaret took his fill before spinning to address his kid. “Hello, my little off-spring!” Jaret smiled widely, taking in the wet appearance of his son. “You havin’ fun, GJ?” Letting go of Bee’s hand, Jaret scooped Garret into his arms, pressing kisses to his wet cheeks. “I missed you guys too, munchkin. Were you good for mommy?” Jaret turned to Bee, raising an eyebrow, knowing damn well that no kid of his ever really behaved well enough to be considered ‘good.’

Bee was currently out in the backyard, sitting on the backyard patio while Garret splashed around in his small pool that Gary bought him easily after the three year old asked him for it. She let out hum and adjusted her sunglasses, hands resting on her present baby bump comfortably. She was feeling a bit achy today and wasn’t really in the mood to leave the couch, but after much begging from Garret, she finally relented to sit out there with him while he splashed around.

Hearing the sliding glass door open, Bee looked over and beamed seeing Jaret. “Hi, how was work?” She asked curiously, making grabby hands toward her husband. Garret splashed his hands in the water to get Jaret and giggled happily. “Hi, Daddy! Momma and I missed you today.” Garret grinned innocently, as if he hadn’t just delibrately splashed Jaret on purpose.

Besides, there’s nothing wrong with dad jokes since I am a dad. Perks of having a family, and wife, and kids and stuff.

I doubt it -- girls are just as evasive to me as they always have been, and then the added baby is like, +15 confusion points. But thanks, Nic. I’m hoping Parker likes me as much as GJ does, otherwise I’m screwed because I suck with kids.

Are you kidding? I became a dad solely to make dad jokes all of the time. ...And because I love my wife, but hey, details.

Oh Jar, maybe if someone explained those guides in your terms it might be easier? In any case you did wonderful the first time around and I’m sure you’ll do fine again. 

I see you haven’t stopped all those dad jokes and I kindly implore you to not embarrass the children.

Taught GJ his first guitar chord today -- I’m the proudest father in the world today, my friends. On that note, pre-natal classes are hard and they should have better instructional guides, because even after one kid, I’m still kind of confused on things with the new one. Garret seems to know more than me -- both Garrets, actually. Little Parker is gonna have so many know-it-alls in this family, dude. Wouldn’t have it any other way, I guess. How’s everybody else... faring. Get it? Cos Farwell? Fare? ...Not funny?

I kind of prefer the Tbell trips -- I know they’re far away, but like, a burrito at midnight is always so satisfying.

He’s been coming out and trying to sweet talk me into staying up later after you go in and lay down. He sits down all cute on the couch and then asks me a bunch of questions he knows I don’t know the answers to so that he can ‘google’ them. Sure, kiddo. Definitely not just trying to stay up and use the internet.

You would think that Garret would realize that just because he thinks he’s being sneaky and quiet doesn’t mean he actually is. I think this is the third time this week I’ve found him trying to sneak cookies after bedtime. This time I actually caved and let him have some before sending him off to bed again because I was craving cookies, too. Hey, at least it wasn’t a ten pm trip to Taco Bell again.
