The ball is rolling... slowly
Week 10- Blog 3
Collaborative experience
Unfortunately this week’s collaborative experience was a bit strained because only two of us, Taylor and I, were able to come to class. But as a group we were still able to message our group chat and engage with each other. Also, Diavi made a recovery from his cold later on in the week and was feeling well enough to be in contact with the whole group about the short film. Taylor and I were able to collaborate for a short period of time over the storyboard during our tutorial but i regrettably had to leave early.
Individual
My individual role this week was to ensure to initiate conversations in our group chat to make sure we were all on the same page. I referred Diavi to our google docs that detailed our idea and a rough script that I had begun to write out. I researched what a documentary script structure is supposed to look like and wrote out a list of interview questions accordingly. From this I was able to devise a loose script with room for improvisation from actors on set. I also did a rough storyboard for our opening scene alongside Taylor.
Process and Development
In terms of progress and development, it was a little bit slow moving due to absences from our team and people still feeling a bit sick however I was able to write out a script which in turn helped to finalise the structure for our film. Taylor was able to make a draft for the movie poster and Josh is working on our film’s risk assessment so we can hopefully be set to start filming next week.

Aha! An Idea!
Week 9- Blog 2
Collaborative experience
Up until this point it has been difficult to gather everyone together in order to come up with our ideas for our film, however this week we were able to have an extremely productive zoom call. In this zoom call we were able to complete three major milestones: An idea, a general structure and our roles. Only three of us were able to participate in the zoom, myself, Taylor and Josh. Diavi was sick and we weren’t able to get in contact with Adelphe.
Individual
My individual role this week was a bit tricky as I sort of took it upon myself to gather our team together a bit more. There was already a group chat however it was pretty bare and we had no ideas as of yet. It was hard getting responses about times that would best suit everyone else to meet or organise a zoom call, so I set up a google docs and suggested we put our ideas or hopes for the short film. Luckily Taylor and Josh were willing to do a zoom call, so I organised a time and sent links for the zoom.
Process and Development
During our zoom call we were able to make major development in our short film. Because of the created google docs we were able to have a virtual version of brain storming. When we did our zoom call the two main ideas we were happy with was the genre: a satirical documentary, and the general idea being that this guy has a medical condition that prevents him from being warm; in order for him to combat this he had to wear many jackets. Taylor came up with the general idea. From this premise we continued to come up with ideas or shot that we thought may have been funny.

Game Plan Time
Week 11- Blog 4
Collaborative
Sadly, this week was once again a bit strained. There were plans for a zoom call that fell through due to other circumstances on everyone’s part. Further, Josh and Diavi were finally able to show up for the tutorial, but they left early due to other circumstances. However, Josh Diavi and I were able to come up with a filming game plan, where we would assign what could be done at home by them and what we would all do as a group next week.
Individual
I was a bit frustrated this week because it felt like I was putting in a little bit more effort than some of our team members but after devising a game plan with Josh and Diavi I felt a lot more hopeful. In terms of my individual role in the film, I was able to update Diavi on what was going on in person and talked him through our idea, and I also updated both him and Josh on my script. I was able to message Taylor and I got them to send their version of the storyboard to the group chat as well as asking for any updates on their part about the storyboard.
Proces and Development
Because they had the rough storyboard for the first scene and a general script, I asked Josh and Diavi to film our opening “wake up” scene in our film as I couldn’t travel up to campus again until the following tutorial and I knew they were friends outside of class. Then we all agreed to meet up after our first class next Wednesday and get the bulk of our filming done then. At least for me individually I wasn’t able to make as much progress as I was hoping but we were able to come up with a solution thankfully.
