Jaskiers eyes are glassy from the nitrous oxide and his breath still reeks of it. The bard is still under the drugs effects and he is not fully coherent. But he is so distressed it makes geralts heart ache

Geralt storming up to them in rage and anger. "WHATS WRONG? What happened!?"

his eyes are stormy and he's ready to kill anyone who hurt his bard. This was supposed to be a simple procedure!

Jaskier grasping his arms desperately and sobbing "they said I can't suck dick anymore!"

One of the nurses rolls his eyes. "Just until the filling for the cavity is set. Just 24 hours"

Stuff kids on tumblr better relearn

1. You are responsible for your own media experience. 

2. There is such a thing as a healthy level of avoidance towards topics that make you feel unwell or even (in a real-life clinical definition of the term) trigger you - but you are the one to actively take care of what you view.

3. Avoiding does not mean policing others.

4. You have no right to tell artists to censor themselves - you may criticize what others do, you may dislike it, that’s fine - but actively asking for censorship when you could easily unfollow or block a person just makes you look incompetent in your use of the internet.

5. Do not give people on tumblr or /any/ website the responsibility for your emotional well-being. Because these people do not even know you so no, you have no right to ask them to take care of you.

Imagine if you had a neighbour who keeps performing songs from Phantom of the Opera in his apartment every night, by himself but accompanied by a parrot, which he has taught to sing Christine's part. Admittedly it's kind of obnoxious but you are far too baffled to even be properly annoyed. And also you don't want to confront someone with that kind of power and determination. So every once in a while you just hear this guy dramatically bellow

Growing up, Jaskier had learned how to hide his true feelings. He learned that sometimes, the best way to make no one figure out how you truly feel is to make them see you as a joke.

In Kear Morhen, Jaskier was well aware that he didn't belong. So he returned to his old tricks of making himself out to be the foolish, vapid bard who was an idiot. Letting the others see him as one big joke but not enough that they find him annoying.

This becomes a concern to Geralt when he notices that Jaskier keeps putting himself down

My boyfriend just woke up, mostly still asleep and told me “don’t worry, it’s getting better” in a heavy, American accent, which is unusual for an Australian man.

“Why are you American?” I asked, to which I got:

“Sorry, it’s getting better” in a stereotypical posh English accent.

“Why are you English?” I asked, amused.

“What is he normally?” He managed to ask.

“He? You’re not anyone else, you’re you.”

“Ugh, me” was the last thing he said, in a right proper Aussie accent before he fell back into proper sleep.
