“spice... cake...” the student sounds it out carefully, rolling the unfamiliar words on his tongue. it’s not as if he’s totally new to the possibility of a spiced dessert... it’s more that he’s forgotten that humans have those around them to fuss over them. rather, c feels an ache of loneliness. he’s a god, truly the god of this realm, but he lacks that beauty that seems to connect all humans. a sort of love... in this cruel, miserable world.

finally, he shakes his head. “er, no. that’s okay. i know my dropping in was... unexpected.” to say the least. “is charlotte here? i... found her book.” it was covered in mud — that is to say, it was utterly filthy when he found it. but since she had provided him with gloves, he felt much better about picking it up and trying to clean off the pages.

that doesn’t change the fact that he vomited his throat raw afterwards, but the pastel-haired alien doesn’t need to know that.
