Dance class was a popular elective among hockey players while MacKinnon was at Shattuck. In the class, they learned about different dance movements and their histories and then choreographed a dance of their own as a final project. When MacKinnon took the class, his group — which included Cecere, Cammarata, Lewis and MacTavish — spent hours rehearsing in a dorm basement.
The final product, performed in front of the class in the dance studio, was something to behold. Wearing khaki shorts, socks and no shirts, the five began by tapping their right feet and snapping along to the song they chose: MGMT’s “Electric Feel.” Over the next two minutes, they executed a series of moves, including a backwards shuffle and synchronized arm flaps. At one point, MacKinnon helped hold a metal pole, from which Cammarata did pull ups. They ended by flexing and letting out primal screams.
“One of the funniest things we’ve done,” Cecere says.
Somehow, they got an A.

Noticed him play with the Okanagan Rockets, then started to follow his game with the Vees, cried when he got drafted to my favourite team, followed him along in the NCAA and finally all the way through the Avs!
This sounds dumb and stupid but he’s the one and only reason I smile for a few moments each day.
