Technophobes need to apologise for "just put it in plain English you stupid machine!" because, well for one the decline in accurate error messages in favour of simplicity has contributed to the rise of tech illiteracy, but also because now whenever an "app" has a net connection error it will pop up a box saying something like "oo ooopsie! I’m going to be honest. I don’t think you should be a pharmacist or a doctor if you’re not comfortable dispensing medication and assisting people of every demographic. The medical field is one place where the right to refuse service gets people killed. If you’re not able to empathize and help people because of a personal bias against their race, sexuality, gender identity, disability status, religion etc., do not become a doctor. If your “personal beliefs” against birth control are so strong that you will refuse to dispense lifesaving medications like hormonal birth control or misoprostol or you’re so virulently transphobic that you refuse to dispense hormones and hormone blockers, you should not be a pharmacist.

If you have these beliefs that are so strongly against people’s bodies and identities, you should not work around vulnerable demographics. If you want a job where you have the right to pick and choose who you assist, go into gig work or something.

Absolutely AMAZING response by Watcher imo.

They acknowledged that they made a mistake, made the wider context more clear, and addressed basically all of the criticisms brought forward by the community as far as I know.

Anyone who already subscribed to the streaming service who no longer wants it gets a refund.

Patrons get a free subscription to the streaming service.

The service now only offers early, ad-free episodes that will still be released on YouTube.

They acknowledged the insensitivity of the original pitch and how the price is not something that everyone can afford.

THIS is how you respond to backlash, especially this widespread. Take time to collect your thoughts, take the criticism into account, and change your actions going forward.
