Tbf Shinichi is quite probably the most in love character of the whole manga. Can't wait to see him in his boyfriend era at full splendor!

It's been brought up before (we were talking about it over 10 years ago when I was active in the fandom last) but Shinichi really doesn't show real interest in other women. Others in general, that is.

Kogoro and this guy here, they're both distracted by the sexy, but Conan... sure he's blushing but there's no third set of bubbles to suggest he, too, is having the same reaction.

His interest in other women does seem to play out as purely aesthetic, rather than a legitimate attraction to others. I can easily imagine him saying "That woman is stunning, yes, but she isn't Ran."

I have always imagined Shinichi as Sherlock Holmes and since the period in which he lived was not yet completely open to women, therefore Watson being a great doctor everyone who knew "him" considered Watson a man when in fact "he" was a woman (Ran). I would like to see ShinSherlock's face when he finds himself faced with something he could never, ever imagine. As well as the love at first sight that pierces his body against all thoughts.

I loved the idea, and did a little research on Sherlock, I have yet to read more about who Shinichi admires. Sherlock and Watson met through a mutual friend, and who is the mutual friend between Shinichi and Ran, yep. Sonoko (it was a little excuse to draw her).

I've pictured RanWatson, dressed in a suit and covered up, just like in canon I'm sure she didn't have a good first impression of ShinSherlock. I couldn't think of any dialogues. but

THE FUCKING SHARK OMFG BRILLIANT

I just made a new set of stickers and I'm kinda happy with them!

It's the little Gosho Boys with some animal plushies! (I tried to make them fit, Shinichi HAD to have a shark and Hakuba a hawk, I don't make the rules. With Heiji I was doubting between a tiger or a lion but went with the tiger in the end, and with Kaito I thought about giving him a dove, but Hakuba already had the birb, so eh- to change it up 😂. And bunnies tend to be pretty tied to the whole magician thing so...).

(Ignore the little scratch on Kaito's hair, it happened while I was using the scissors 😭)

Where should I put them? It always makes me sad to actually use stickers I like it's so dumb 😂 I could always make more but still...

Do you think Shinichi is also putting a facade?

Hmmm. I think that with Shinichi it's complicated.

The way I see Kaito, he is just a normal guy who CAN have normal relationships up to a certain point, he has his own safe space, he has his normal every day to day routine... So his life is not THAT different, he has these extra things he has to add to that, like planning for heists, pretending ignorance and innocence in front of his close ones and shutting people out if they try to cross his limits, which is added to the fact that his social circle is very small too. But even if he's got to be alert because of these things, he still has the structure of his routine life and safe space, which makes it easier for him too to be alert when he needs to be. The fact that after all this time he sTILL refuses to accept or comply to Hakuba telling him more or less directly that he's Kid kinda proves that. He still has energy to keep that mask on at all times he HAS to have it on.

For Shinichi... It's much more complicated. He doesn't have a safe space. He doesn't. He has to be wearing the mask CONSTANTLY. If he had in the end let's say lived at Agasa's house, maybe it could've been a little easier for him mentally because as soon as the door closed, inside of Agasa's house he could act like himself, but he can't do that, and it's gotta be... Exhausting. The people who KNOW and he can act normally are, sadly, sort of out of his routine, he doesn't see Agasa everyday (not now that he's Conan, he probably did before though), he doesn't see Heiji every day either,... He sees Ai at school, but it's not completely safe either because the kids are around, they meet mostly at school, again, not a safe space either... It's complicated. I feel like Conan's mask cracks easier for two reasons: one: he's not specially good at lying and he doesn't like to do it (he's got his moments). Two: he's tired. It's gotta be EXHAUSTING to act completely different as you would normally at all times, that's why he cracks, that's why he messes up more, that's why when with people who KNOW he indulges so much and then of course messes up too. So is Shinichi wearing a mask, is he putting up a facade? Sure, but not completely. His personality bleeds more through his mask than Kaito's imo, because he has to keep it on all the time and THAT is not easy. For example, he falls comfortable at times with the kids and takes this more mature stance with them, took the role of the older brother even being the smallest child on the group, and they let him, because they're kids.

And of course he takes EVERY opportunity he can get to take the mask off (he takes antidotes when possible, he wants to go on dates with Ran and take her to a nice restaurant and tell her his feelings, he wants to go on a school trip with the rest of his mates and with the love of his life...) because he's tired.

Shinichi and Kaito have similarities but are also very different, it's interesting to explore!

I haven't heard anything special about Ran in the movie, all spoilers I've seen are about how she's fully supporting Heiji and Kazuha and little else? So... I'm a little worried because the director was very insistent on how this movie was very important for her as a character and all of that...

Is that all there is? Is that how he sees her? She doesn't do anything else other than be there to support heizuha? Don't get me wrong, I love me some shipper Ran but uh- she's a lot more than that, no?

Come on director-san, you already did great on the... Reveal 🎉. Now give us some cool Ran stuff!
