I can't find what she wrote about it, but I remember she posted it like, hours after the cancellation was announced. And it 100% gave off that vibe. She was calling out 'bye' barreling down the driveway.

We may see Elisha again in a different series, but you know, it's so hard for Asian actors to break into mainstream roles...

So because I love torturing y’all, I’m taking you on this whiplash adventure I went on in the last hour. In digging around for Fate 2 news addressing casting, I checked Wikipedia to find the list of people blaming Brian Young for whitewashing Winx Club now included the OG himself, your least favorite Italian and mine, Iginio Straffi

And I was like ‘wow, this is surprising considering it’s Straffi’s IP and he is no stranger to changing skin tones for aesthetic. But I guess you should try to back away from dumpster fires, even if it’s your dumpster.’

But then I decided to check the source to see if there was any more Fate-hating in there (because I’m weak).

Only to find - surprise - the Wikipedia quote was only part one of Staffi’s answer! And part two said the controversy just due to exaggerated sensitivity over JUST Musa’s casting, nobody cared about it anymore, and a minor detail like *looks at hand* representation, won’t affect Winx Club as a whole.

There are other parts of the interview that radiate the same what the fuck energy as this but don’t really apply to this blog (including Straffi wanting to do a whole new live action Winx universe with Helen Mirren as Faragonda), but I am again going to link the interview in case you want to suffer with me.

Moral of the story? Check your sources, Straffi has no idea how modern Western media works, and I still hate everything.

Hello! I think a lot of people who like Fate The Winx Saga don't really care about the original series. There are people who don't even care about the original characters like Flora and Tecna, it's all an insult. There is no one in the Winx production that cares about the original series, not even the actors, none made an effort to study the characters. The essence of the characters is not felt. They destroyed Stella and Bloom's friendship to be more "realistic". It's disgusting, the machismo that exists is impressive.

As for the ships, if Rivusa! Fate is shipped, it is because the characters are called Riven and Musa, but they are not the characters (Musa in Fate looks like a very cheap copy of Darcy, the powers are the same, who knows if they mixed Darcy and Musa, and gave rise to the Musa in Fate). There are shippers who ignore the whitewhasing that Musa suffered, and even in fanarts.

They wanted to make it darker, when dark does not equal dark filter. It can be a totally dark plot and the photo shines. An example is Midsommar, the film is cloudy, but it is not dark.

And lastly, the lack of totally beloved characters like the Trix. And no Beatrix is not Icy, and she is not Stormy and she is not Darcy.

It hurts me so much that they turned Riven into a simple buffoon.

This rant is great and can easily stand on its own. A few of my own additions, just for fun:

I think the people who are into Fate either A) have vague memories of Winx as a whole so don't realize the major differences, or B) never watched Winx to begin with. Fate doesn't really require you to watch Winx Club anyway, it just kind of takes names and certain character traits and does...whatever the hell the show is.

You can make arguments for and against Rivusa all day (and people have, but I'm not here to do that), but it's fucking hilarious that after so many complaints of them being unstable/toxic/whatever (which you can either blame on the writing changes over the years or the characters themselves, but that's not the point here) Netwinx put Musa in a normal relationship with a totally normal and nice guy, and people still went 'NO! RIVUSA BECAUSE OF THESE 3 SECONDS.' And yes, that was bound to happen because of the type of show this is supposed to be, but I'm of the mindset half of these people are here just because these two characters are named Musa and Riven. I mean you do you, but *shrug*

In an attempt to make New Trix with different genders and races* (idk if you can count the single black male lead as diversifying this train wreck of a show, but technically) and for some reason a throuple (??), Young made it worse. It's so much worse and I hate it.

So this new Fate clip (because I know if you’re here you don’t give a shit about spoilers) is just Terra in the woods and someone sneaks up on her and it turns out to be *gasp* Flora! And the official instagrams sharing it are saying things like ✨O M G she’s here 🧚✨ she could have BEEN here from day 1 genius - she was SUPPOSED TO BE! It’s YOUR fault she wasn’t!
