Know all the ingredients used in Cement Mixtures
Cement is the end-product of a combination of 8 main ingredients that go through the cement production process. These main ingredients are in general extracted from the materials limestone, clay, chalk, sand, marl, shale, bauxite, and iron ore. It is one of the main ingredients in the concrete mix used for construction. SD Conmix provides ready-mix-concrete of premium quality. A brief discussion about the contribution of different ingredients in cement is mentioned below: Lime: Lime constitutes about 60 – 65 % of cement which in turn contributes to the strength. It is highly imperative and proper care to be taken with respect to the right proportion to make the cement sound and strong. An additional quantity of lime could result in unsound cement and lead to the expansion and disintegration of the cement. Also, the use of deficient lime results in decreased strength of the cement and it will set quickly. Silica: About 17% – 25 % of cement consists of Silica which again is a contributing factor towards the strength of the cement because of the dicalcium and tricalcium silicates formation. If silica is present in excess quantity, although it increases the cement strength but would also result in prolonged setting time of cement. Alumina Cement contains about 3.5 % – 9% of Alumina and it is this product that imparts the quality of quick-setting to the cement. However, if there is an excess amount of alumina present in the cement it causes a reduction of strength. Iron Oxide About 0.5% – 6.0 % of iron oxide is present in the cement. In addition to strength to the cement iron oxide also provides colour and hardness to the cement. Magnesium Oxide It is important to add the correct proportion which is about 0.5 % – 4.0 %. of magnesium oxide that imparts colour and hardness to the cement. Again, the presence of surplus quantity will affect the soundness of cement which refers to the stability of the volume change involved during the process of setting and hardening. Sulphur Trioxide A small quantity of about 1 % – 2.0 % of Sulphur Trioxide is present in the cement which also helps to make the cement sound. Excessive sulphur trioxide results in the cement becoming unsound. Alkalis Only small quantities of Alkalis such as 0.4% – 1.3 %. of soda or potash should be present in the cement. Excess quantity of Alkalis leads to efflorescence and straining when they are used in concrete or mortar. Top 10 Requirements to be focussed on to ensure good quality cement: Cement should possess a uniform colour. Cement has to be free from lumps. Cement should have regular level and smooth finish such that it has to gel well and sink in completely when it is mixed with water. The total ratio in the percentage of alumina with iron oxide is not less than 0.66% of cement. The total percentage of sulphur content in cement should not be greater than 2.75%. The Magnesia content should not exceed 5% in weight. Insoluble residue in cement should not exceed 1.5% by weight. The cement should not lose its weight by more than 4% when heated. The initial setting time of cement should ideally be about 30 minutes. The final setting time should generally be about 10 hours. SD Conmix is known for providing the best-quality Ready mix concrete in Bangalore.

Admixtures- Application
The construction industry significantly contributes to the gross domestic product (GDP) of a country. As the country sees an age of infrastructure development, the construction business in India is expected to thrive and grow in the coming years. Naturally seeing the economic trend, people want to try their hands in this field. SDconmix is one of the top ready-mix concrete suppliers in Bengaluru. They have a ready-mix concrete plant fully equipped with a team of technicians. Concrete is defined as a composite material that consists of fine and coarse aggregates bonded together with a fluid cement that hardens over some time. What are admixtures? An admixture is defined as a material other than the normal ingredients like water, aggregates cementitious materials, and fibre reinforcement. It is used as an ingredient of a cementitious mixture to modify its freshly mixed settings which are added to the mixture before or during the mixing. Why are admixtures used? Admixtures are used in the concrete mix for various reasons, like to alter the properties, improving the workability, increasing or decreasing cure time, and increasing concrete strength. Admixtures can also be used for aesthetic reasons, such as to change the colour of the cement. Concrete admixtures improve the properties of the concrete in constructions with special requirements. Chemical admixtures can provide a number of benefits and effects on the consolidation of freshly mixed concrete as well as on the performance of both hardened and fresh concrete. These mixtures help to achieve the desired results and to avoid unnecessary instances. Some of the most important purposes for which admixture is used: Improves workability without increasing water content or decreasing water content at the same workability level. Accelerate the time of the initial setting Decreases rate of settlement Modify the rate or capacity of concrete bleeding Reduces segregation Enhance pumpability Reduce the rate of slump loss. Increases bond between existing and new concrete Enhances impact resistance and abrasion resistance Produce coloured concrete or mortar The concrete admixtures should be selected as per the specification and should be used as recommended by a professional. For larger construction projects the quantity of the admixtures to be used should be obtained from test reports for concrete mixed with admixtures at various percentages. These tests are done to understand the behaviour of the admixtures on the desired quality and strength of concrete. Conclusion It is highly important to know that the admixtures are mixed in the concrete mix only if required as per the specifications and method of applications. This is to avoid the adverse effect on the concrete properties in fresh and hardened states. Scaffolding for Concrete Structures
Over a period the construction business has taken a lead with technological advancement and high demand for services, and the only way to go is up. The construction industry looks promising, with the opportunity in the residential and infrastructure sector. The major drivers of this market growth are rising houses starting to raise infrastructure. What is scaffolding? Scaffolding is a temporary structure made up of a timber or steel framework over which the workmen can sit and carry on the construction work. Scaffolding is needed for new construction work. It is also helpful for the repairs of the structure, and it serves well to demolish a structure. These are used for large structures where ready-mix concrete in the form of concrete blocks are used for construction, as one of the popular RMC is from SD Conmix. Some of the scaffolds used for the concrete structure are Single scaffolding: This consists of a single framework of standard, ledgers, putlogs, etc. constructed parallel to the wall. This type of putlog scaffolding is commonly used for the laying of bricks. Double or mason scaffolding: In the case of stone masonry, it is very difficult for the wall to support putlogs. In that case, two rows of scaffolding are placed from the wall respectively, which makes it stronger and more stable. Cantilever or needle: When the ground is weak when the upper part of the wall must be carried out, to keep the space next to the wall free from traffic. Then this type of scaffolding can be used. Suspended scaffolding: This type of scaffolding is normally used for repair works such as pointing, painting, etc. Wire ropes of the chains are connected to the working platform of the scaffolds and are suspended from the roof of the building. By using rope or chain the platform can be raised or lowered as per required level. Trestle scaffolding: This type of scaffolding is used for painting and repair works inside the room, at a low height. The working platform is supposed to be on top of movable contrivances such as tripods, ladders, etc. Steel scaffolding: In steel scaffolding instead of using wooden members, steel tubes are used and steel couplets or fittings are used instead of rope lashing, other things are similar to the wooden types. Such scaffoldings can be erected and dismantled rapidly. Steel scaffolds are nowadays used in high-rise buildings because of their height, greater strength, greater durability and greater fire resistance. Though its initial cost is more, its salvage cost is higher; it is extensively used these days, both used for brick and stone walls. Patented walls: Normally in the market scaffolding made of steel is available. These scaffolds are arranged in special coupling frames, etc. The working platform is supported on brackets which can be adjusted at any suitable height. Conclusion Scaffolds are very essential for big structures for today’s construction scenario. It is mainly used for raised and tall structures that use ready-mix concrete for construction, for durability and stability. When we talk about RMC, SD Conmix is the best for it, they are quality suppliers for ready mix concrete.

Are Concrete Blocks better than Bricks?
Construction is a very ancient human activity; it began with purely functional needs for a controlled environment. The present state of construction is complex. There is a wide range of buildings, products and systems, that are highly organised. Which include a lot of management, quality control and insurance. Construction today is a significant part of the industrial culture with a varied built environment to serve the diverse needs of society. If you have plans for the construction of some buildings, understanding the difference between concrete blocks and bricks will help to make an informed decision. Some of the features of concrete blocks and bricks Concrete blocks are a type of building material that is made up of aggregates like sand, cement, gravel and water. A concrete block is usually used in the construction of building walls, floors, and foundations for a structure like houses and commercial buildings. Concrete blocks are good for construction purposes because they are durable when compared to bricks. When you opt for concrete blocks from SD Conmix then it is always a safe bet for the customer. Because they believe in quality. The strength of the concrete block is due to its combination of construction materials, it is made up of cement, sand, and aggregates which provide it with high compressive strength. The brick on the other hand is made up of clay and stone which provides it with low composite strength. This makes the brick more susceptible to cracking and breaking when it is subjected to a high load of pressure. Concrete blocks come in different sizes and shapes, but bricks do not. while concrete blocks can be used for a variety of construction purposes. The concrete blocks are inexpensive yet durable, they do not absorb water, while the bricks are not durable because they absorb a lot of water in them and create dampness in them. The concrete blocks can be stacked one above the other without the risk of collapse. While this is not possible in the case of bricks Concrete blocks are used for the construction of a wide range of structures. The bricks have a limited range for construction. concrete blocks from SD Conmix are the best mix concrete for any big and large structures. Concrete blocks are lightweight, so they don’t take up much space in the house while bricks are heavy compared to them. Concrete blocks come in different colours to choose from which makes a good option for those who want to match with the décor of the house, while the bricks have one colour. Conclusion The advantages of concrete blocks over bricks include durability, as concrete blocks are harder to crack or break than bricks, maintenance because it’s easier to clean up concrete, and cost because there are fewer materials required to make concrete blocks than bricks. We at SD Conmix are one of the best suppliers of concrete blocks in Bangalore.

Sealants – Application in Construction Industry
Building a home is not an easy task as it requires a whole variety of different materials to be clubbed together. Substances like metal, glass, wood, concrete, glass, fibreglass and others find their places and have their uses in a structure. The joints at which these varied materials meet are a bit tough to seal as these different materials do not become the tightest bonds. Fortunately, there is a whole sort of building product curated for the sealing process – sealants. Through this blog, we at SD Conmix – the best construction materials suppliers will educate you about sealants and their applications in the construction industry. Sealants are materials that are utilised to block, seal, or cover gaps in between building materials to restrict air, fluids, pests and other things from passing through. The meeting point of the dissimilar materials is joint by sealants. They fill in any irregularities that might be present between the two surfaces. Sealants are also used in filling cracks in surfaces such as concrete and other stiff building materials. Sealants are used to cover up gaps around windows and door trim or allow flexible adhesion between two surfaces. As the sealants restrict air and prevent other materials from passing through the gaps, they can retain a home keeping it comfortable in varied weather conditions. It is natural to find sealants in a wide range of usages. Window and door installers will be covered with a sealant, creating an air-tight seal. The connection between framing lumber and concrete foundations can contain sealants. Other uses of sealants entail window glazing, and patching cracks in the concrete foundation, apart from seams around mouldings within the home. Wherever there is a gap for air, water, or insects to pass through, a sealant can do the trick. There is a wide range of sealants available and each of them has its plus and minus points. Few sealants have limited application. They will work for one application but perhaps not for the other. Other sealants might be general usage targeted. This is why it is necessary to select the best sealant for the required task. The types of sealants used in construction are: Water Based, Acrylic, Butyl, Polysulfide, Silicone, Polyurethane, etc. The benefits of using sealants from SD Conmix are varied. Their sealants have high viscosity, allowing them to still be at the applied surface, even on vertical joints. Hardness is one major property of an ideal sealant that makes it resistant to unwanted happenings like deformation. Sealants from SD Conmix are weather resistant and can bear extreme temperatures of sun and moisture, and at the same time, they remain flexible as and when needed. Sealants from SD Conmix are examined by the ASTM C920 Standard Specification for Elastomeric Joint Sealants and are approved for their capability of movement and adhesion. Volatile Organic Compounds, which are respiratory irritants usually found in sealants are minimal in SD Conmix sealants. Ensuring the right sealant prevents unwanted expenses. The sealants from SD Commix are durable. Owing to the packaging, they can be stored for up to 12 months in a closed container in a dry and cool place. Any sealant works efficiently when used correctly, however choosing the best option can pose a hurdle. No sealant is inferior or superior compared to others. The best sealant is chosen after assessing the performance properties of each kind of application. Cost cutting is essential but not at the expense of performance. Mulling over the best sealants for all your construction needs? Think no further than SD Conmix – the best RMC supplier for all your concrete material needs!

Curing- Duration for Effectiveness
Curing is a process followed to maintain adequate moisture content and temperature in concrete at an early age. It is imperative for curing as it develops properties the mixture was primarily designed to achieve. Immediately after finishing and placement of the concrete mix, the curing process begins. Curing the concrete helps develop the required durability and desired strength. As mentioned above, maintaining adequate moisture supply and temperature is required without which the cementitious materials in concrete will not be able to react to form the desired quality construction material. Drying can remove the water needed for this chemical reaction preventing the concrete from achieving its potential properties. During the progression of the cement hydration reaction, concrete will eventually change its state from a fluid to a rigid state. Another important factor for proper curing is maintaining the temperature, as the rate of hydration and strength develops faster at higher temperatures. For an adequate rate of strength development, the concrete temperature should be maintained above 50 degrees Fahrenheit which is 10-degree Celsius. Furthermore, it is important to maintain a uniform temperature all through the concrete section while it is in the process of gaining strength thus avoiding thermal cracking. Weather conditions such as windy weather and relative humidity are also important for exposed concrete as they contribute to the rate of moisture content loss from the concrete, thereby resulting in lack of durability, cracking & poor surface quality. To prevent plastic shrinkage cracking, protective measures need to be taken to control the evaporation of moisture from concrete surfaces before it sets. Build all of your dream projects with SD Conmix’s Ready Mix Concrete. We follow a skilled and conceptual approach to manufacture our ready mix concrete with the top-rated technology in the industry to achieve the desired end product. SD Conmix is now one of the most respected and sought-after RMC manufacturers in Bangalore. We provide the best customer service and are greatly admired by the clients we are associated with for their building projects. At SD Conmix we always ensure to abide by ethical operational practices, which is why we are also known as the Best Customer Service Provider. Concrete is an important construction material used in construction and concrete’s strength and durability greatly lie and is influenced by curing. Concrete curing in construction has to be done for complete hydration of cement to take place or else the full strength required will not be achieved. Proper curing is highly essential and curing- duration for effectiveness results in: Increased strength of concrete will help build a strong building structure. Improved wear-resistant and weather-resistant properties to withstand different weather conditions, and Increased impermeability and durability to sustain. This curing of concrete is supposed to be started as soon as the initial setting time of the concrete has been reached and has to be carried out for a reasonable amount of time. It is based on the specified quality standards to be able to achieve its required strength and desired durability, to ensure it serves as a suitable construction material for any construction. In construction, brickwork should be left for at least seven days for curing, and reinforced cement concrete should be left for at least 15 days for curing. Curing will not be required during the rainy season. SD CONMIX Bangalore is a Top Readymix Concrete Material Supplier.

How Ready Mix Concrete is Revolutionizing the Construction Industry
Ready mix concrete (RMC) has become a game-changer in the construction industry in recent years, with its ability to provide a range of benefits compared to traditional on-site mixed concrete. RMC is a pre-made mixture of cement, aggregates, and water that is delivered to the construction site in a mixer truck, ready to be poured and used immediately. In this blog, we at SD Conmix – one of the best ready mix concrete manufacturers in Bangalore, will explore how RMC is revolutionizing the construction industry and why it is quickly becoming the preferred choice for contractors and builders worldwide.
Consistent quality
One of the most significant advantages of RMC is its consistent quality. The mixture is made in a controlled environment, using precise measurements and high-quality materials, ensuring that every batch has the same quality and strength. On the other hand, on-site mixed concrete is prone to variations in materials, water-cement ratio, and mixing technique, leading to inconsistencies in quality and strength. With RMC, contractors and builders can rely on consistent quality and strength, making it easier to plan and execute their construction projects.
Time and cost-saving
RMC can help save time and money in construction projects. On-site mixing requires a significant amount of time, labour, and equipment, including cement mixers, batching plants, and storage facilities. On the other hand, RMC is delivered to the site in mixer trucks, eliminating the need for on-site mixing and reducing labour costs. Moreover, the precise measurements and consistency in quality ensure that the required amount of RMC is used, reducing wastage and material costs.
Increased efficiency
RMC provides increased efficiency in construction projects, allowing contractors to pour and finish the concrete in less time. On-site mixing requires significant preparation time, including setting up the batching plant, preparing materials, and cleaning up after the mixing process. With RMC, the mixer truck arrives at the site and pours the concrete directly into the required location, reducing preparation and clean-up time. Moreover, RMC can be customized to meet specific project requirements, including strength, durability, and workability, providing increased efficiency and flexibility.
Reduced environmental impact
RMC can help reduce the environmental impact of construction projects. On-site mixing requires a significant amount of water, which can lead to water wastage and environmental damage. Moreover, the transportation of raw materials and equipment to the site can contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and pollution. RMC reduces water consumption, as the mixture is prepared in a controlled environment using precise measurements. Moreover, the transportation of RMC to the site is more efficient, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
Improved safety
RMC provides improved safety in construction projects. On-site mixing requires significant labour and equipment, which can lead to accidents and injuries. Moreover, the handling and storage of raw materials can pose safety risks, including exposure to dust and toxic materials. With RMC, the mixture is prepared in a controlled environment, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. Moreover, the mixer trucks are equipped with safety features, including backup cameras and alarms, ensuring safe delivery of the concrete to the site.
In conclusion, we at SD Conmix believe that RMC is revolutionizing the construction industry by providing a range of benefits, including consistent quality, time and cost savings, increased efficiency, reduced environmental impact, and improved safety. With RMC, contractors and builders can achieve their construction goals with greater ease and flexibility, reducing the risks and costs associated with on-site mixing. The Science Behind the Strength of Hollow Concrete Blocks
Hollow concrete blocks have been a popular building material for many years, and with good reason. They are strong, lightweight, and cost-effective, making them a great choice for both residential and commercial construction. But what exactly makes hollow concrete blocks so strong? Through this blog, we at SD Conmix – the best concrete blocks supplier will explore the science behind the strength of hollow concrete blocks.
To understand the strength of hollow concrete blocks, it’s important to first understand how they are made. Hollow concrete blocks are made from a mixture of cement, water, and aggregates, such as sand, gravel, or crushed stone. This mixture is then poured into molds and allowed to cure, creating a solid block with hollow cavities inside.
The strength of a hollow concrete block is determined by a number of factors, including the quality of the materials used, the curing process, and the size and shape of the block. Let’s take a closer look at each of these factors.
Materials
The quality of the materials used to make hollow concrete blocks is critical to their strength. Cement is the binding agent that holds the block together, and the quality of the cement used can have a significant impact on the block’s strength. High-quality cement has a higher compressive strength, which means it can withstand more weight and pressure without cracking or breaking.
Aggregates, such as sand, gravel, or crushed stone, are also important. These materials provide the bulk of the block’s volume and contribute to its overall strength. The size and shape of the aggregates used can also affect the block’s strength. For example, smaller aggregates tend to create a denser, stronger block than larger aggregates.
Curing Process
The curing process is also critical to the strength of a hollow concrete block. During curing, the block is allowed to dry and harden, which strengthens the cement and aggregates. The length of the curing process can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the temperature and humidity of the environment.
In general, a longer curing time will result in a stronger block. However, the curing process can also be accelerated using various techniques, such as steam curing or the use of additives. These techniques can help to speed up the curing process without compromising the strength of the block.
Size and Shape
The size and shape of a hollow concrete block can also affect its strength. Larger blocks are generally stronger than smaller blocks, as they have a greater surface area and more internal volume. The shape of the block can also affect its strength, with blocks that are wider and flatter being stronger than blocks that are tall and narrow.
In addition to these factors, the way that hollow concrete blocks are used in construction can also affect their strength. For example, the way that the blocks are stacked and reinforced can have a significant impact on their ability to withstand weight and pressure.
In conclusion, the science behind the strength of hollow concrete blocks is complex and multifaceted, involving a number of factors such as materials, curing process, and size and shape. By understanding these factors, builders can ensure that they are using the highest quality hollow concrete blocks for their construction projects, resulting in stronger and more durable buildings.
Overall, hollow concrete blocks are an excellent building material that offers a range of benefits, including strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness. By taking the time to understand the science behind their strength, builders can ensure that they are using the best possible materials for their projects, resulting in buildings that are not only strong and durable but also safe and secure for their occupants. What are RCC footings?
RCC footings are Reinforced Cement Concrete footings. They are made up of steel bars. Footings transfer the load uniformly on the ground below, so there is no unequal settlement. RCC footings are generally adopted in buildings constructed with columns. They can be of different types: trapezoidal, block, or stepped footing. SD Conmix provides ready mix concrete for various construction projects.
Following are the types of footings:
1. Continuous wall footing: It is generally used in the load-bearing structures to support the foundation walls and load-bearing walls. In this, there is a big concrete slab below the wall and a brick wall in the center of the slab. SD Conmix provides quality mix concretefor this type of construction.
2. Isolated column footing: This supports only one column and has three types of footings namely Pad footing, stepped footing, and then sloped footing. Pad footing is generally used in local construction.
Stepped footing contains two or three rectangular or square pedestals whose width decreases towards the column junction. This type of footing consumes less concrete compared to block footing. As the name suggests, block footing is in the form of a block, which is easy to construct and consumes slightly more concrete. Sloped footing is usually used in high-rise buildings and consumes relatively less concrete.
3. Combined footing: The base of two columns is combined in this type of footing. SD Conmix provides ready mix concrete for all types of footings and also supplies quality construction material.
4. Trapezoidal combined footing: A trapezoidal footing is used when the load of one column is greater than the other and usually sloped footings are trapezoidal footings.
5. Mat or raft foundation: When the space between the columns is significantly less, a mat or raft foundation is used. In this, the base of all columns is combined. So after combining, an extensive base is formed, called a raft. The thickness of the raft foundation is more than the other types of footings. SD Conmix supplies high-quality mix concrete for construction
6. Pile foundation: Piles are used as deep foundations where the soil is very weak and has a higher groundwater table. Mostly used in bridge or dam constructions.
Conclusion: Points to be remembered for RCC footing:
1. Check the excavation for its dimensional accuracy before laying the foundation
2. Secure the vertical rods in the foundation firmly in its position
3. Use a minimum M20 grade of concrete
4. Ensure proper concrete compaction in the sloped portion of the foundation.
5. Concrete in stepped or block footings attain better compaction.
SD Conmix supplies high-quality construction material and ready concrete mix for all types of construction.

How do I choose the best concrete for construction?
The pebbles of knowledge must be bonded together by the cement of experience! Just as bricks hold the structure of any home together, cement is the common factor that holds the frame together. Contemporary construction is next to impossible without cement. Different construction projects need varied cement varieties. With a myriad of variations and cement types that are available in the market, it is not easy to make an educated choice.
When you think of constructing your dream nest, you will always prefer to use the best cement that helps you with the best output. There are some key aspects that one should keep in mind while looking out for the finest cement to be used for construction. Through this blog, we at SD Conmix will help you understand how to choose the best concrete for construction.
Concrete is made up of fine and coarse aggregate bonded together with a cement paste that hardens over time. Cement on the other hand is a powdery substance made by calcining lime and clay, mixed with water to form mortar, or mixed with sand, gravel, and water to make concrete. Ensuring the best concrete means ensuring the best cement.
Cement grades help to gauge the strength of OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement). A higher cement grade translates to better compression strength which means the structure can sustain more weight and deal with erosion. OPC is available in three grades, however, for lasting structures, blended cement variants like Portland Slag Cement (PSC), Composite Cement (CC), or Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) should be considered as they offer better durability & resistance to various elements affecting the quality of construction.
To make sure of the cement quality, a good way is to buy from an established brand. A company that is in the market for a prolonged period can provide the ideal cement products. The products of such a company are in tandem with goodwill as they deliver the best products with value for money. Packaging is another aspect that helps cement not decay by storing it properly. Good packaging that is tamper-proof and resists moisture is an ideal packaging.
In order to supply the best quality cement, logistics play a vital role. Cement delivery is important and essential as they affect the construction process. Choose a brand at your nearest dealer and check the price and availability before you start the construction. Keeping the information mentioned in, you can make an educated choice to select the cement that best suits your needs.

Types of ready mix concrete
Ready-mix concrete (RMC) is defined as custom-made concrete that has been manufactured in a factory or manufactured within a batch plant specifically based on mix designs. RMC is a precise mixture well-known for offering durability and sustainability and is generally delivered in one of two ways:
Volumetric concrete mixers:  Here ready-mix concrete will be delivered to the worksite where you could mix the concrete on site.
Barrel truck or in-transit mixer:  Here the prepared concrete is delivered to the work site in a transit mixer that is installed over a truck. This type of ready-mix concrete is recommended as it is sure to guarantee higher durability.
Types of Ready-mix Concrete:
Depending upon the specific mixing of the various ingredients and cements there are three types of ready mix concrete or RMC as mentioned below.
Central mixed concrete
Shrink mixed concrete
Transit mixed concrete
Central mixed concrete.  This is also called central batching plant concrete.  Central mixed concrete is so called because it is formed when concrete is mixed thoroughly before being loaded into a truck mixer. While the transportation of the concrete takes place, the truck drum mixer only acts as an agitator. The concrete plant at times is also referred to as a wet-batch or premix plant. When there is a low workability requirement or when the lead is less, dump trucks or non-agitating units could also be employed.
Shrink mixed concrete
Shrink mixed concrete is formed when the concrete is partially mixed in the concrete batching plant mixer, while the remaining is mixed in the truck-mounted drum mixer during transit time. The amount of mixing in the transit mixer is based on the extent of mixing done in the central mixing plant. To establish the requirement of mixing in the drum mixer the best practice would be to conduct a test.
Transit mixed concrete
It is also called dry-batched concrete. In the case of transit mixed concrete, it is made when all the basic ingredients including water are charged directly into the truck mixer.  Initially, while loading the construction materials, the truck’s mixer drum revolves very fast at charging speed, after which it rotates slowly and continues to rotate until it reaches a normal agitating speed.
Transit mixed concrete RMC comes in three different types of variations namely.
Concrete mixed at the job site
While it is being transported to the construction site, the drum revolves at a slow speed or an agitating speed of 2 revolutions per minute (RPM), but on reaching the destination site just before the discharge of the construction materials takes place, it will get almost around 70 to 100 revolutions and revolves at a maximum speed of about 12 rpm to 15 rpm. This happens to ensure homogeneous mixing so that a smooth mixture is formed.
Concrete mixed in transit
In concrete mixed in transit, the mixer drum speed is kept medium and constant during the transit time. It revolves continually for roughly 8 rpm at 70 revolutions.
After 70 revolutions, the rotation is slowed down to an agitating speed of 2 rpm till discharging the concrete takes place at the site.
Concrete mixed in the yard
In concrete mixed in the yard, the mixer drum is at an agitating speed of 2 rpm during the period of transit. On reaching the site, it is turned at a high speed of 12 rpm to 15 rpm for approximately 50 revolutions when in the yard.

Types of materials used in ready mix concrete
Ready mixed concrete (RMC) is a specialized material consisting of cement, aggregate, sand , water and gravel that are weight batched at a center batching plant.  They are mixed either at the RMC plant location or in truck mixers after which they are transported to the construction site and delivered in a condition ready to use, hence, termed “Ready mixed concrete.”
Ready mix concrete is manufactured with the construction materials at a place distant from the construction site and the transportation links the two locations.  In the case of congested sites or at diverse workplaces, this technique is useful as the consumer need not be bothered with procurement, storage, and handling of concrete or construction materials.
Ready mix concrete at SD Conmix is produced under factory conditions that permit close monitoring and control of all manufacturing operations including transportation of fresh concrete. Ready mix concrete can be customized for different applications and is used due to its durability and low cost.
SD Conmix follows a skilled approach and top rated technology to manufacture the ready mix concrete. Our company maintains multiple expert quality systems in place to oversee and ensure to use of the best and high-quality raw construction materials. SD Conmix has an efficient raw mix concrete design along with cube test results for the analysis of data statistically.
Proportioning of ready-mix concrete
The proportioning of an RMC aims to obtain an economical and practical combination of materials with the required properties for its intended use. These include strength, durability, functionality, workability, and appearance. Concrete aggregates need to meet the appropriate specifications such as being clean, strong, and durable.
Fly ash or other supplementary cement or construction materials which enhance concrete properties, are generally added to RMC. The key element to obtaining quality concrete is the use of the least amount of water resulting in a mixture that can be easily placed, compacted, and finished.  Admixtures are commonly used in small quantities as they improve the properties of fresh and hardened concrete including the rate of setting and strength development of concrete, especially during extreme weather conditions.
Properties of ready mix concrete
Adding water-reducing admixtures minimises the water content in the mixture, increases strength and improves the durability of the concrete mix. The air-entraining admixtures facilitate the microscopic air bubbles in concrete during mixing which imparts freeze-thaw durability of concrete  thereby increasing resistance to scaling caused by deicing chemicals, and improves workability.
SD Conmix is one of the best  ready mix concrete manufacturers offering the best customer service, genuine quality concrete mix and support.

How to choose the right cement for your home?
Building and owning your own home is an enriching and joyous journey most homeowners take to fulfill a long-standing dream.  During construction, there will be endless questions about the raw materials, structure, kind of designs, timeframe; etc, and the list will go on.  Hence, it is important to determine the right items with good quality to ensure the structural integrity of your home.
Cement is an integral component in the construction industry used in the construction of buildings and various other structures.  Cement and concrete mix are different, with cement being a primary component making the concrete mix.  The concrete mix comprises cement-based paste and aggregates like sand, crushed stones, and/or gravel.
Cement is the most essential and crucial element used for the construction of your home or any other building structure.  It is also the determining factor of the lifespan and your home’s structural integrity.  Choosing the right construction materials namely the types of cement, types of concrete, cement blocks, concrete block, ready mix concrete; etc. play a very important role.
There are essentially 3 types of cement that are commonly used for constructing structures; they are, Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) Portland Slag Cement (PSC), and Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC).  The type of cement you choose will highly determine the overall building cost and its sustainability as well.  Comparatively, Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) is more eco-friendly than Ordinary Portland Cement and will help you build sustainable homes.  SD CONMIX offers you the best cement and best quality construction materials.  Cement differs in properties and determining the right cement will help you to your structure’s quality and reduce costs as well.
Cement companies produce different types of cement for different construction jobs. Each variety fulfills a different purpose and can be considered specialized for that particular type of construction. The different types of cement are as follows:
OPC stands for Ordinary Portland Cement which is a traditional choice for construction.  OPC has an early setting time.
Relatively costlier.
Less environment-friendly compared to other blended types of cement.
PPC stands for Portland Pozzolana Cement.
PPC is a fly ash-based cement
It has a slightly longer setting time also as strong as OPC cement.
Pocket-friendly compared to the other cement types.
More environment friendly
Preferred in the building constructions under harsh environmental conditions due to PPC properties.
Prevents water seepage and damage.
PSC: PSC stands for Portland Slag Cement.
PSC is blended cement.
It has a low tendency to crack due to its tendency to generate lower heat during hydration.
PSC results in less water consumption and also facilitates easier curing.
The most ideal choice for constructions exposed to a marine environment.
Cement is available from so many companies making it difficult to choose the right one.  SD Conmix is a well-reputed brand and our best cement and construction materials are of good quality.  The best cement and construction materials that we provide are of top-notch quality, in line with our goodwill, ensuring to give our customers good value for money.
