so I feel like shirabu kenjioru from haikyuu would really over work himself or not take care of himself(like eating right or getting enough sleep) so the someone from his team always has to convince him to take a well needed break. But Tendou gets the idea to tickle him so he won’t keep overworking himself.
Oo, Shirabu! I haven't written for him in FOREVER! This was delightful- I've gotcha covered :D
I’m gonna beat him, I’m gonna beat him, I’m gonna-
“Shirabu~” Tendou’s voice was inches from his ear, making the younger boy squeak and jump. The volleyball in hand flew across the gym, bouncing towards the door.
“T-Tendou! What-How-When-” He scrambled, torn between being pissed the third year ruined his shot and flustered that he was being addressed by his senior. “H-How’d you get here?”
“Through the front door. Are you still trying to set?” He bent sideways to take in the horizon of scattered volleyballs littering the floor. “You know- being a hard worker is great, but when it starts becoming your entire being, that’s an issue.”
“I don’t know what you-”
“When’s the last time you took a break?” Tendou raised a brow. Shirabu blushed.
“Tendou-”
“Had something to eat? Drink some water? Stretched?”
“I can do that later-”
“Shirabu.” He was giving him the look. Originally Semi’s trademark- Tendou copied it for alternative methods.
“T-Tendou, don’t!” The first year backed up, shaking his head and raising his hands as Tendou grinned. “Wahhait, wait staahahay back!”
“You’re in no position to give orders, Shirabu.” Tendou wiggled his fingers, his voice taking a sing-song tone. “You’re in the position to get TICKLED!” He lunged just as Shirabu went to run, grabbing him around the waist before drilling his fingers into his sides. “Tickle tickle tickle, Shih tzu~”
“Aheahhahahahaha! Ghehahahhahahaha! Tehehehehehehndohoohohohu!” Shirabu’s knees buckled immediately, falling back into Tendou’s chest as he squeaked and laughed. “Dohohhoohohn’t tihihihihiihickle mehehehehehehehe!”
“Don’t push yourself so hard then.” Tendou replied, one hand squeezing Shirabu’s waist while the other scribbled into his belly. “If you’re trying to surpass Semi, you’ve got plenty of time to do it. You’re only in year one- there’s no need to get to our level within a month. Take your time, figure out your own path. You feel me?”
“Ahehahhahhaa! Yehehahahhah I gehhehehahhahahs soohohohohohoho? AH!” Shirabu yelped when he was released, catching himself before he could break something. “Heh..hehe…heh..fine, I’ll take a break.” He rolled onto his butt, looking up at Tendou with a mild pout. “Why do you always insist on giving sage advice while tickling people?”
Tendou cackled, delighted as he held out a hand. “It’s the best way to make you remember!”
Send me a headcanon and I'll write a dabble for it!

Just a PSA as a new wave of spam blogs attacks: if you follow my blog with a blank blog, I’m most likely going to block you.
A blank blog looks like this:
Tumblr media
Why? I have zero information about if a human exists behind this screen. Even a username + pfp on one of these is still the same m.o. as the bots.
Everyone uses tumblr differently, especially when interacting with blogs like mine, but it’s just a pain in the ass to guess if someone’s blog is real and there’s…nothing.
Even if you’re trying to stay incognito, reblogging a couple posts or making a little pinned post does go a long way in these situations!! Stay in the shadows if you wish but let ppl know you’re real.

Are we friends? | Bokuto & Tendou
Tumblr media
Notes/Warnings: none
Summary: Tendou has a hard time believing in real friendships...
Tumblr media
Tendou was well aware that he was not everyone’s cup of tea. He was well aware that not many people liked him or bothered to get to know him. And he was fine with that. He had his teammates who knew who he was and still stayed with him; he didn’t need anyone else. So when Bokuto Koutaro constantly greeted him and started conversations with him multiple times a day he was pretty shocked to say the least.
He never showed it but he was always caught off guard when he, or anyone from his little trio of friends, greeted him in the hallways or asked him how he was doing or even cheered for him when he made a great play (because no one else did). Maybe he just didn’t trust that someone outside of the Shiratorizawa volleyball team could possibly be interested in getting to know him. His first thought was that they probably just pitied him, which he hated. He hated when people were being nice to him just because they felt bad for him. It’s so fake.
But deep down, he really hoped that they were being genuine. Especially Bokuto. The guy had a fun personality and made Tendou feel like he was the funniest person in the world. He also talked a lot and didn’t shy away from the conversation, instead he would ask more questions and keep the conversation going. Now, Tendou loved his team. But he would also love to have connections outside of his tiny little bubble. Just to prove that he could make friends... even if it was just to himself.
Throughout the training camp, Tendou continued to observe Bokuto and his friends. He couldn’t help it, reading people was how he survived so it came naturally to him. He would see Bokuto constantly laughing and joking around and being physical with people. Especially with that bed head captain and Fukurodani’s setter. They seemed particularly close and it seemed that their favorite pastime was to annoy the setter Though, Tendou could see that the setter could hold his own ground and even cracked as many jokes as they did. Bokuto in particular seemed to be able to make friends with everyone he talks to and Tendou, apparently, was no exception.
“Hi, Tendou!” Bokuto beamed when he passed by him.
“Hello,” Tendou was surprised that Bokuto still had this much energy after a full day of training.
“What are you up to right now? Do you want to hang out with us?”
Tendou paused. Bokuto was asking him to hang out? Part of him still felt like this was all out of pity and he was half tempted to tell the guy that he was tired and just heading back to the dorms. But another part of him wanted to believe that Bokuto genuinely wanted to hang out with him and this was the first time he’d been invited anywhere. He figured if he really ended up not wanting to be there, he could just easily leave. He nodded and accepted Bokuto’s invitation.
“Sure,” he drawled.
“Awesome!” Bokuto’s smile somehow got wider. “Akaashi and Kuroo are already in the common room, I just went to grab some snacks from the vending machine.”
“There’s a vending machine here?”
“Yeah! Not a lot of people know about it, but since I’ve had a training camp here before I remember a friend showing me where to find it!”
As they made their way back towards the building, Bokuto continued to ask questions about volleyball and school and even Tendou himself. Tendou could feel himself loosening up and talking a bit more genuinely with Bokuto, even making jokes. It was a new but also familiar feeling, as he has friends in the volleyball club but no one has been as talkative as Bokuto has been.
“We’re here!” Bokuto announced, opening up the door and revealing Akaashi and Kuroo who were currently bickering.
“What do you mean water is not wet?! How? How is water not wet?!”
“What do- What do you mean how?! To be wet is to be covered in water! But water itself cannot be wet!”
Even though he knew who they were and they often said ‘hi’ to each other, it was clear that these two were very comfortable around each other.  Tendou could feel himself starting to clam up, thoughts about no one actually liking him began to fill his head again and he felt like he shouldn’t be here. But he’d be damned if he showed he wasn’t comfortable.
“Yo,” he said when the two turned to him.
“Tendou! Bokuto! Is water wet?”
“Um…” Bokuto froze when the question was directed to him. “Yes…?”
“Ha! See?”
“Oh my-”
“Water is not wet.”
All eyes turned to Tendou and though he had his insecurities he was glad that he wasn’t afraid to talk. “Water can make things wet but it literally can’t be wet itself.”
“Thank you!”
“Are you kidding?”
Akaashi and Kuroo finally dropped their argument when they realized it was still tied but not without Kuroo calling Akaashi a ‘bitch’ and “therefore you’re wrong” and Akaashi sticking his tongue out in response. This action caused Kuroo to start tickling him and soon Akaashi’s happy laughter could be heard throughout the room. Wow, they must have been really good friends to be able to tickle each other.
“Kuroo!” Bokuto laughed. “You’ve been tickling him all day! Let him breathe and we can all try these snackies I got from the vending machine!”
Kutoo let Akaashi go and they all gathered around to investigate the pile of snacks that Bokuto brought. They even asked Tendou which one he wanted to try first while Bokuto proudly told them everything he thought was cool about Tendou which led to more conversations. And for the first time, Tendou felt welcomed in a space outside of the Shiratorizawa gym. He even found himself cracking jokes and laughing and had even gotten into a playful argument with Kuroo.
He wasn’t even sure where the time went but eventually they started to calm down a bit and even fall asleep in Akaashi’s case. With Akaashi asleep, he continued their conversation about conspiracy theories with Bokuto and Kuroo until Kuroo said he had to leave. Now it was just him and Bokuto. He’s not sure how it happened (everything today has been going by so fast), maybe it was the fact that it was nearing 2am but their talk turned into things they were insecure about.
“I wish people would stop treating me like I’m some dumb jock. Like, I know that’s what they think and I try not to let it get to me but sometimes I hate hearing how people think that I don’t know anything just because it takes me longer to understand.”
“I think you’re someone who shows your whole unfiltered self to people and they’re not used to that. Nowadays, it seems like intelligence is compared by how well you hide your emotions. But I think you’re a prime example of why that’s not always the case. And just because you don’t understand it right away doesn’t mean you aren’t smart.”
Bokuto nodded his head and smiled. “Thanks, Tendou. You’re really cool.”
Tendou’s breath hitched. He’s never heard those words before and he spoke before he could stop himself. “That’s what you call an unpopular opinion. Bo-kun.”
Bokuto looked up at his words and tilted his head. A silent gesture to ask Tendou what he meant. Tendou sighed.
“... I know I’m not well-liked. I look like a monster so I get it. It’s kind of hard to make friends and I started to give up on that. And even though I’m fine with being alone and act like I’m not bothered, part of me is still afraid that any sort of friendliness I get is only because they feel bad for me. And I hate that more than being alone…”
As soon as he said this, Tendou felt a little bit of regret that he just suddenly poured his insecurities onto someone he just met. He could totally understand if that ruined any possible friendship they had. No one really likes someone who overshares. This is why he can’t make-
“Oh, but I like you.”
Tendou snapped his head up to look at Bokuto. He didn’t mean to display his shock but he couldn’t help it. No one’s ever said that to him.
“I like you,” Bokuto repeated. “I think you’re really funny and you give out like ‘safe space, not going to judge you’ vibes. If that makes sense. Like even Akaashi felt comfortable around you and he’s not really a people person!”
As much as Tendou wanted to believe him, he still thought that Bokuto might be trying to save his feelings. “You don’t have to-”
Tendou choked on his words when an involuntary gasp ripped through his body. As he was talking, Bokuto had squeezed at his ribs. He wasn’t that ticklish but he was completely unprepared for it and he didn’t have enough time to desensitize himself. And, as if his flinching was a green light, Bokuto reached forward and began squeezing up and down his ribs.
“Tendou,” Bokuto said, scooting closer so he could have better access to Tendou's ribs. “I wouldn’t wouldn’t be saying this if I didn’t believe it. And if you don’t believe me then I’m going to have to tickle you until you do!”
Tendou could feel his face heat up, but whether it was from holding his breath to keep himself from laughing or Bokuto’s words, he didn’t know. On the one hand he was really touched by Bokuto’s words… on the other hand he was being tickled. And by someone who wasn’t Ushijima. This was new to him and he didn’t know how to react! He twisted and turned to try to get away from Bokuto’s hands but Bokuto was persistent and… Well, maybe Tendou didn’t really want it to stop.
He’s normally the one who tickles his teammates but no one ever really tickles him back. It was a nice change in pace… Especially because he likes tickling his teammates as a way to show his affection. Having it done to him was… reassuring in a way so he didn’t fight or tickle back like he would normally do. Even though Bokuto’s fingers were getting way too close to a really sensitive spot.
“A-ahaha- Bo-kuhun- wahahait!”
“Ooh, you’re laughing now~ I was actually beginning to worry that you weren’t that ticklish,” Bokuto giggled when Tendou squirmed a bit harder when his hands scribbled at the dip of his waist. “I’m glad you’re laughing but Akaashi is sleeping. So you better keep it down~”
Tendou shook his head and finally started giggling, unable to hold it back anymore. Bokuto had found the sweet spot at his waist that never allowed him to keep his composure for very long. But Bokuto was right, Akaashi was sleeping and he’s seen the two of them gang up on Kuroo before. He did not want to have two of them on him.
He managed to keep his giggling quiet but in turn, he started squirming a bit more. It seemed that he was feeling very ticklish today in particular because everything Bokiuto was doing made him want to crawl out of his skin. Bokuto kept switching between squeezing his waist, scribbling at his sides, and fluttering his fingers up and down the sides of his stomach. On top of that, Bokuto had managed to wrestle him down onto the couch and lay on top of him, keeping him from squirming around.
“Bohoho!”
“Yes?” Bokuto whispered, a little too close to his neck. “You’re doing really good keeping your voice down.”
“Bohoho- stop! Nohohot there!”
“Where? Oh, here?”
“Ack!”
Tendou immediately scrunched up his shoulders and tried to protect his neck but Bokuto’s fingers were already stuffed in there. Fingers endlessly wiggling against the sensitive skin there. His neck was easily his worst spot. Any other place on his body he was able to either will the ticklish sensations away but his neck brought him to laughter every single time.
“Ahahaha, it tihickles!”
“I know,” Bokuto laughed. “Wow, you’re really ticklish here! Akaashi freaks out when I do this to him, does it work on you?”
I know I’m ticklish here. Was what Tendou wanted to say. But what came out instead was more giggling and a few squeals when Bokuto began fluttering his fingers right under his jawline and ears. Was he always this ticklish? Tendou actually wasn’t sure. He’s never let anyone tickle him for this long before, always turning the tables. But this time, even though it tickled like hell, he wanted to let himself be tickled.
He always tickled his teammates because that’s how he showed his love for them. Tickling wasn’t their love language but he felt their love in other ways like sitting together at the lunch table, watching anime in Goshiki’s room, joking around at practice. They tickled him back but it was more so out of revenge or starting tickle fights with him. This was different. Even though Bokuto was tickling him to make him believe something, he could feel the place of love Bokuto was coming from. He didn’t feel the need to tickle back.
Every wave of ticklishness that coursed through his body and every round of giggles that it came with made him feel a little less lonely, a little less doubtful. But as much as he enjoyed the playful tickling he was receiving, perhaps he did need to breathe.
“Bohoho-kuhun! I behelieve you!”
“What?” Bokuto asked, still gently scratching at the length of Tendou’s neck causing the redhead to squeeze his eyes shut and squeak. “Oh, right!”
Bokuto stopped tickling Tendou and let him catch his breath while he patted his stomach.
“Good?” Bokuto asked, smiling down at him.
“Yeah,” Tendou felt his face was a little warm and brought his hand up to his cheek.
“Good, haha!” Bokuto beamed. “And you didn’t even wake up Akaashi.”
Tendou nodded before sitting up and looking up at Bokuto. “Bo-kun, did you mean it?”
“Mean what?”
“Ah, nevermind-”
“That I like you? Of course. I wouldn’t be inviting you to hang out with me if I didn’t want to be friends with you,” Bokuto reassured him. “And I wouldn’t be tickling you if I didn’t actually like you.”
With that, Bokuto snuck in one last poke against Tendou’s ribs to which Tendou jolted against. Rubbing at his ribs, Tendou wasn’t sure how he should feel or what to do having never heard or experienced something like this before.
“Thank you,” he said in a quiet voice.
“Of course!” Bokuto handed Tendou the extra blanket and made to settle down for the night on the second couch.
Accepting the blanket, Tendou sighed. But this time it was with content and relief and a little bit of happiness. He was able to make friends. He grinned at the thought of that.
“By the way, I hope you’re prepared for the tickle war you just started.”
Bokuto cackled loud enough to cause Akaashi to stir in his sleep. Lowering his voice down he winked at Tendou.
“Bring it on.”

The Best | Bokuto & Hinata
Tumblr media
Notes/Warnings: none
Summary: Bokuto makes sure Hinata remembers who the best ace is.
Tumblr media
“Hinata! You’ve gotten way better since the last time I saw you!”
Hinata beamed at Bokuto’s exclamation, feeling incredibly proud of himself that one of his biggest role models, Bokuto fricking Koutaro, was praising him. Yes, they were friends but it never failed to put a huge smile on his face whenever he heard Bokuto compliment him. He looked up to him for so long and always made time to try to watch his games whenever he could. The fact that Bokuto not only noticed him but was also friends with him made him incredibly happy.
“You bet!” Hinata exclaimed, holding up his own victory fist. “Before you know it, I’ll be beating you on the court!”
Hinata squealed when he felt a pinch against his side and he dropped the volleyball he was holding as he jerked away from the sensation. Using his elbows to rub against his side and alleviate the ticklish sensations, Hinata looked up to a laughing Bokuto with a slight blush on his face. He folded over when Bokuto quickly began peppering his sides with rapid pokes and giggled and fought against the ace’s advances.
“Remember who you’re talking about, punk,” Bokuto smiled. “I’m the best ace in all of Japan.”
“Ohokay, okahay!” Hinata giggled, slipping out from Bokuto’s arms and hopping away while putting his hands up. He flinched when Bokuto reached out to poke at his side again. “Noho! Bokuhuto, dohon’t!”
“Say I’m the best ace, then,” Bokuto grinned, wiggling his fingers towards Hinata and causing the boy to giggle in anticipation.
He wasn’t sure what compelled him to respond like this… but after the first flurry of pokes, Hinata began to feel a playful spike rise in him and he looked between Bokuto’s fingers and his face. Preparing himself to take off, Hinata shifted his weight and stuck his tongue out to the older ace.
“I’m the best ace.”
“You little-”
Hinata squealed as Bokuto took off running after him, briefly thinking to himself about how this must be what Natsu felt like whenever he wanted to play tickle monster with her. He could feel a flurry of butterflies in his tummy as Bokuto’s footsteps sounded not far behind him. Hinata was fast, but that didn’t mean Bokuto wasn’t either and he almost made it across the gym before he suddenly felt Bokuto’s presence right on top of him. Turning around, Hinata tried to brace himself and put his arms up in defense before shrieking when Bokuto scooped him up and tossed him over his shoulder.
“Bokuto! Wahait! I did exactly what you asked me!” Hinata protested as he kicked his legs.
“No, what you were doing was being a smarty,” Bokuto argued.
“Isn’t that a good thing?!” Hinata asked with a giggle. “Aren’t aces supposed to be smart?”
“Not smart alecks,” Bokuto rebutted. “They’re totally different- oh, Hinata, you know that’s not going to work, right?”
Hinata tried to get himself out of Bokuto’s hold by squeezing at the ace’s sides. He knew it wasn’t going to work, Bokuto wasn’t ticklish in many places, but it was worth a shot anyway. Hinata continued to squeeze at Bokuto’s not ticklish sides before yelping when he was gently moved towards the ground. Despite literally asking for it, Hinata immediately began to struggle and fight to push Bokuto’s hands away.
“No! No, noho, no- wahait! Bohokuto- Nohoho!”
Hinata squealed when Bokuto’s fingers made their way to his sides and laughter erupted from his mouth. He definitely asked for this by being witty with Bokuto, he knew this, but he couldn’t help but squirm and buck his hips at the incredibly ticklish sensations dancing around at his sides. He honestly didn’t realize how ticklish he was until he came to Karasuno and despite really enjoying the sensation, he could not, for the life of him, ever stay still for it.
“Sorry, buddy,” Bokuto laughed, squeezing up and down Hinata’s sides. “But you brought this on yourself.”
“Nohohoho, plehehease!” Hinata squealed. “Hahaha- stahahap!”
“Not until you say I’m the best ace,” Bokuto sang, rubbing his thumbs into the dips of Hinata’s waist and earning surprised gasps between the cackling laughter.
Hinata whined when the ticklish shocks spread throughout his entire torso. Normally, he was able to squirm his way out when he was tickled like this. Or when that didn’t work, he was able to muster up enough strength to reach out and tickle back to turn the tables. But in this case, neither was an option. Bokuto had managed to pin Hinata down enough that the most he could do was kick his legs and hold onto Bokuto’s wrists. And Bokuto wasn’t ticklish in many areas he could reach.
He knew that the only way he could stop a tickle monster like Bokuto would be to give in to the third year’s request. But… part of him wasn’t entirely ready to give in yet. He always enjoyed whenever Bokuto tickled him. There was a more playful aspect when it came to him and it reminded Hinata of when he would chase around Natsu and tickle her to silly happiness. Only this time Hinata was on the receiving end. He never had an older brother and was always curious to know what it was like to be the one taken care of, to not have the brunt of responsibilities… to be the one acting silly despite being tickled to pieces. Bokuto gave him the opportunity to act like the younger brother and he enjoyed every minute of it. There was no way he was stopping this now.
“I-I’m thehe behehest ace!” Hinata squealed out again, laughing even more when Bokuto’s face morphed into utter shock and disbelief.
“Oh, you’ve done it now,” Bokuto laughed.
Hinata shrieked when he felt Bokuto quickly gather his hands in one of his own and pull his arms up over his head. Babbling out broken protests, he shook his head and kicked his legs, hoping to get at least a little mercy from Boktuo but to no avail. A loud cackle escaped his mouth the moment Bokuto’s fingers touched down at the middle of his tummy, clawing and scribbling against his most ticklish spot as he tugged on his trapped arms.
“NohoHOHOHO! BOHOHO- BOHO, NAHAHAT THEHERE!” Hinata screeched, throwing his head back and cackling when Bokuto continued to claw at his tummy.
“Nope,” Bokuto laughed, letting go of Hinata’s hands, much to the decoy’s relief. Hinata pushed at Bokuto’s hands but nothing he did would make him budge. “I’m staying right here until you do what I say!”
“BUHUHUT I DIHIHID!” Hinata cackled, still trying to keep up his mischievous behavior but he could feel himself beginning to lose energy the longer the tickling went on.
“No, you didn’t!” Bokuto argued back, switching to rapidly poke Hinata around the middle. “You have to say I’m the best ace! Me! Bokuto! Don’t make me start giving you raspberries!”
“OhohoKAHAHAY, okahahay! You’re the behehest ace!”
“Who is?” Bokuto asked, clawing at Hinata’s tummy again.
“YOU! BOHOHOKUTO!”
Bokuto pulled his hand away from Hinata’s middle, allowing him to curl into a ball and try to rub away at the leftover ticklish sensations. Giggles still poured out of his mouth as he watched Bokuto flex his arms and beam.
“That’s right!” The ace exclaimed. “And don’t ever forget it!”
Hinata’s giggles slowly rolled to a stop as he caught his breath and despite being tired out from all the tickling he had to endure, he couldn’t help the giddy smile that was still etched onto his face. He always had fun with Bokuto and wondered if this is what it was really like to have an older brother.
“Bokuto,” Hinata called out. “You really are the best.”
“Aha!” Bokuto laughed, reaching forward and ruffling Hinata’s hair, causing him to fall into another fit of giggles. “So are you, little buddy.”
