You could've just read the comments my man, there's at least several saying the book is Hunters in a Narrow Street by Jabra Ibrahim Jabra (and lots of tags as well, including my own), who is an Iraqi-Palestinian Christian. "Brown grievance porn" sure says a lot about the perspective you came into this with, though. Sounds like this is a "you" problem.

god wanting to be swaddled. god wanting to be held in his mother's lap. god wanting to be born, attached, wet, then warm. god wanting a reason to cry. to gasp for air for the first time. this is a god worth babying. a god you should pick up, and hold close. rock a little. a god who needs you to support his neck

For the first time since the 1948 Nakba, there was no Christmas tree lighting outside the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, Palestine.
In its place, an installation depicting the nativity scene is placed as if it were taking place in Gaza today. This is done in support of the people of Gaza who have been facing a harrowing Israeli aggression for the past 80 days, an aggression so catastrophic that it lead to cancelling Christmas celebrations in Bethlehem this year.
With the nativity models placed amid rubble and barbed wire, the star of Bethlehem is represented by the aftermath of a bomb hitting their shelter. The scene replicates those following Israeli shelling of civilian homes in Gaza.

Bethlehem, Palestine.
Usually there is a festive parade to celebrate Christmas.
But today it is a silent march for the lives lost in Gaza.
20,000K+ dead. Countless under the rubble and so many more injured.

Munther Isaac's Christmas message from Bethlehem. It's in English so there's no mistaking who needs to hear it. Please don't ignore it.
"We will be OK. Despite the immense blow we have endured, we, the Palestinians, will recover. We will rise. We will stand up again from the midst of destruction, as we have always done as Palestinians. Although this is, by far, maybe the biggest blow we have received in a long time, but we will be OK. But for those who are complicit, I feel sorry for you. Will you ever recover from this? Your charity and your words of shock after the genocide won't make a difference, and I know these words of shock are coming, and I know people will give generously for charity, but your words won't make a difference. Words of regret won't suffice for you. And let me say it; we will not accept your apology after the genocide. What has been done has been done. I want you to look in the mirror, and ask: Where was I when Gaza was going through a genocide?"

2023 Nativity Scene at the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church, Bethlehem, Palestine
"In Gaza today, God is under the rubble. He is in the operating room. If Christ were to be born today, he would be born under the rubble. We see his image in every child killed and pulled from under the rubble. In every child in incubators," writes Rev. Munther Isaac of the church.

as far as i can tell in response to the proliferation of pro-palestinian content online and the clear on the ground support for palestinians worldwide there has been a BIG push by institutions and news networks to both stigmatize support for palestine and distract from the on-going genocide in gaza.
we're going to be seeing a lot of backlash in the coming few weeks now that israel is trying to push through its genocidal plan. manufacturing consent for genocide is a dirty game. stay focused. there are children dying in their thousands and they can't hide or justify it. in a few months all of this will go away and israel and the US will start their crying tour of "shoot and cry"
there is no question of how history will look back on this moment. we already know that and so do they. they also don't care. remorse is free and they know it. public mourning and statements of regrets are likely pre-written. if the public outcry wasn't significant, they wouldn't be going to these lengths to suppress it.
stay focused, keep the pressure up. there are children being killed, hospitals being bombed, schools being destroyed, land being razed, homes being looted, parents being kidnapped, civilians being terrorized every single moment this continues. none of this is normal. none of this is right. a few weeks ago a single hospital being bombed was a worldwide shock. now every hospital is being openly and brazenly targeted. this is what they're counting on and this is what we refuse to accept.

Looking for a devotional to guide you through Advent? Here are some options that center marginalized perspectives and won’t jump-scare you with anti-queer sentiments.
Note that I am not affiliated with any of these devotionals; I just gathered them here to help spread the word!
(Also, yes, I posted these same resources the other day lol, but i then made images to share to Instagram and figured I'd share them here too)

conservative (polish) tradcats yapping abt how everything in existence is demonic only to turn around and shit on immigrants from third world countries and war refugees from ukraine is truly a certified moment. evil is when anime character but not when exhibiting an alarming amount of callousness towards the orphan and the widow and the least of us, i guess,

hello! i adore the work you are doing to spread more awareness about our lgbtq+ history ❤️ what is a foundational queer rights moment that you wish more non-lgbt folks/allies knew about?
Thank you so much! I am so glad that I have the opportunity to share queer history! I have been thinking for a minute about how to answer this question because there are so many possible answers. I first thought was I wish people knew more about The Institute of Sexology because it plays a big role in how we linguistically understand queerness today. Then I realized that this is true in Europe and much of North America, but there are a lot of places in the world where that isn't the case.
My second thought was The Golden Orchid Society because I feel it has much to teach in terms of queer history outside of Eurocentric terms, but I knew this wasn't quite the right answer. Then I thought of a guest article that was written: Brazilian Dictatorship and the Queer Movement, and then Simon Tseko Nkoli and Joël Gustave Nana Ngongang came to mind.
Around this point, I realized there is not one simple answer to this very good question. What I truly wish is that people had more knowledge and access to knowledge about the queer history of their region. I have gotten messages from people around the globe asking for information about their countries, sometimes, I have had answers, but all too often, I haven't.
It may be a bit of an obvious thing to say when your job is spreading queer history, but I wish the spread of queer history was even worldwide. I have found that there is no place on earth where queerness has no history of existing, but I have also found that certain narratives find themselves at the forefront of conversations again and again. There is so much depth and nuance that is missing from the global discussion of queerness due to a lack of information collected in local communities. It should not be as hard as it currently is to find queer ancestors from your region. This lack of access to resources is one of the biggest tragedies I face in my work, and I hope one day, it is something that people take more seriously.
