Click the title for one of the best scenes. Some people consider this couple toxic. If you see it as toxic, it's because you choose to see it as malicious. I think it's just an honest mistake, and you're not intending to do that. However, you're entitled to your opinion if you believe it. From what I can see, and from the book and movie, he doesn't disrespect her. They laugh and love and play and go on adventure and care sincerely for the other's well-being. They are more honest with each other than most people are with each other. He's not afraid to be himself. He pushes Allie to be most authentic to herself, and they push each other's buttons, but they push each other to grow. Above all, they respect each other and work to overcome their shortcomings to experience the most fulfilling love. And there is no doubt that they are more alive together than apart.

I will say it is wrong to curse and call people names, and I do not encourage any abuse. However, I see the aggression in the movie as symbolism. I take the aggression lightheartedly because it's a movie. I believe the characters did it unintentionally in their younger years and are doing it in that scene only because they are highly emotional and haven't had a chance to work things out. As adults, Noah says he wants to work through their issues. When the characters are portrayed as older adults, they get along, and their love is still evident. I find it hard to understand when people label this relationship as toxic when there are so many signs that point to it being a loving relationship that liberates both of them. Every relationship is different, and if something works for two people that doesn't work for another pair, that's okay.

11. Simon and Daphne

Simon did not want to get married, but not for the reason anyone thinks. Simon has a tragic past that leads him to make a vow against marriage and children. Simon was even willing to die rather than marry Daphne, but in truth, he was going to die for her. They are best friends and lovers—a perfect pair. Conversation has always been easy for them. It only got difficult when Simon began to feel vulnerable and out of his depth.

Simon: To meet a beautiful woman is one thing, but to meet your best friend in the most beautiful of women is something entirely apart. And it is with my sincerest apologies, I must say it took the prince coming along for me to realize I did not want Miss Bridgerton to only be my friend. I wanted her to be my wife.

Daphne: I know why you made that vow to your father. I found the letters you wrote to him as a child, and I read them. Simon: Daphne... Daphne: Just because something is not perfect... does not make it any less worthy of love. Your father made you believe otherwise. He made you believe that you needed to be without fault in order to be loved, but he was wrong. Should you need any proof of the matter, then... Then look just here. I am tired of pretending. And I cannot continue acting as if I... As if I do not love you. Because I do. I love all of you. Even the parts that you believe are too dark and too shameful. Every scar. Every flaw. Every imperfection. I love you. You may think you are too damaged and too broken to ever allow yourself to be happy, but you can choose differently, Simon. You can choose to love me as much as I love you. That should not be up to anyone else. That cannot be up to anyone else. It can only be up to you.

I love it when characters are friends and lovers because that is the strongest foundation. They challenge and support each other. I love it when people equally love fiercely YET do not disturb one another's sovereignty. They can stay or go. They never trap each other. They cannot be selfish with each other because to truly love someone is to let them be free. We always have a choice. We always hold the keys to our own freedom. The only reason love sometimes feels like the opposite is because of fear. How silly when a synonym for love is freedom.

These pairings beat the odds and stand the test of time. They genuinely choose to love every day, even if it’s the least easy path. None of them expect to fall in love. Most go through (figurative with some literal) hell and heaven and back for each other.

1. Melinda Gordon & Jim Clancy (Jelinda)

They are the most healthy and realistic TV couple I’ve ever witnessed. Truly my place of realistic bliss! Simple but just as effective.

2. Jamie & Claire Fraser

These two individuals are true equals in every sense of the word - independent heroes. They don’t depend on each other to be strong individually, but they choose to be together which makes them even stronger. I appreciate how they believe in and respect each other immensely, even through the toughest of times. Admittedly, the show’s time-travel and heroics were unrealistic for our current times. However, what I found truly beautiful was the way these two characters loved each other. It was a healthy, supportive love that one might find in a strong marriage. They both faced different kinds of emotional and mental trauma, but they were always there for one another, holding each other up during the darkest times until they each found their way back to themselves. Seeing this kind of love portrayed on screen was truly special and rare.

3. James Valdez & Teresa Mendoza (Jeresa)

Peter Gadiot and his heart eyes can handle things independently, but when he’s with Teresa, it’s a tremendous slow burn! SBs are my ultimate weakness. I’m here for the adventure, but even if you remove the thrilling and dangerous cartel aspect for a moment, you still have two relatable characters. I love that this show ensures realistic responses to traumas and surroundings. The incredibly attentive and gentle connection that develops between them is convincing. It grows into something undeniable and irreplaceable. It’s a story of two people who suppressed love and let their cool, traumatized shells guide them for far too long. Luckily, they eventually managed to express their emotions and made it. This love is built on mutual trust, loyalty, and intelligence.

4. Olivia & Fitz

OK, who’s going to admit that they at some point loved the idea of forbidden scandalous fruit which must be kept a secret?! The chemistry! The high stakes! The epic drama of it all! These two are so soft and yet on fire at all times. Cons: it’s not that realistic, and it’s a very unhealthy coupling.

A very, very gentle reminder that "prev tags" is now completely useless, bc you can no longer click back thru the reblog chain and see the prev tags. You can see the reblog in front of you, and you can find the original post - by itself, completely devoid of context - but you can't click thru to the previous reblog. This is apparently intentional, since I literally emailed support about it - being able to click back thru the reblog chain and being able to see the source post in context on op's blog are fundamental parts of the user experience imo and I am pissed - and their response was basically like yeah we meant to do that but if you want to talk about it you can go to our WIP blog, where the ask is literally only open one day a week and we will completely ignore you.
