This is the same thing over and over again. Palestinians die every day, but it gets a lukewarm headline from mainstream media because death and destruction is inherent to Arabness. Then an aid convoy with white workers is obliterated, and now both the president of the United States and the president of Israel are making statements apologizing for “the poor protection of aid workers.” At one point we were seeing multiple reports a day of paramedics from the Palestine Red Crescent Society dying, but nothing. Crickets. Because they don’t care. And even in these “remorseful statements” there is a strategic reminder that white lives hold more weight than brown lives.

No I actually literally can’t get over April being both Genocide Awareness Month and Arab American heritage month. Someone at the White House PR department is literally shaking in their boots trying to figure out how they’re going to spin this in Biden’s favor once people catch on and start absolutely ripping into him for being a live example of genocidal leadership

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love

do you think tragedy and horror can be separated? I think in some forms of media it does get separated but it feels like a slump of meat with no bones to hold it up. good horror needs despair

i think tragedy in horror is like a room in a house. sometimes you have to go looking for it, but it's always there.

Had to unfollow this one person on here cause they just would not stop making posts about how transfems on e getting periods is just made up symptoms and like, I don't have definitive proof I only have my and others experience but like how do you, as someone who is not on e, who has access to the same amount of studies looking into this with decent sample sizes as I do (none), feel so confident to say it's all just placebo and made up ? What makes you so confident ? Cause I gotta say after almost two years of nearly right on the dot once a month suddenly feeling nausea all week, taking the most unbelievable shits, feeling all my organs cramp, and having mood swings out the ass which always just so happens to line up with when the two people with uteruses in my house also get their periods, I feel like I have more data to work off of than you do

im sorry but i literally feel insane trying to explain how copyright and ip are bad for anyone who is not a large powerful corporation. i dont even own the rights to my own paper that i wrote because it's published in a springer journal. my own master's thesis that it's based on legally belongs to my university. these laws do not exist to protect small time artisans or writers or musicians and we have seen over and over and over again how corporations with the money to win legal battles are able to use them as a cudgel against creators of all stripes. like wtf are people on about lmao

Fun Fact, we easily could nationalize the railroads, it's perfectly constitutional, check the commerce clause, there is no reason for us to not nationalize the railroads. It's been done before in WW1
