i learned that STAR WARS released a Christmas music album in 1980 and the producers wanted a better lead singer for the track "R2-D2 We Wish You a Merry Christmas" so they asked the 17 year old kid who was sweeping floors at the studio, and he nailed it. His name was Jon Bon Jovi (x)

Titans Together! Travis Moore has recently made an illustrated history of the Teen Titans (Dark Nights: Death Metal – The Last Stories of the DC Universe). With eight panels over three pages, Moore has succinctly breeze through the fifty-six years of Teen Titans history by showing the major teams that went under that moniker. The Teen Titans first (unofficially) formed when Dick Grayson as Robin, Wally West as Kid Flash, and Garth as Aqualad team up to defeat a weather-controlling villain known as Mister Twister in The Brave and the Bold #54 (1964). They appeared under the name “Teen Titans” in The Brave and the Bold #60 (1965), joined by Donna Troy as Wonder Girl. After being featured in Showcase #59 (1965), the Teen Titans were spun off into their own series in 1966. Over the decades, the series has been launched and re-launched six times – usually with a Robin leading them. The title would not become a genuine hit until its 1980s revival as The New Teen Titans under writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez, which introduced new and lasting characters. Since then, the Teen Titans and Titans titles have been rather regular in the DC Comics roster. Team Roster:
Pre-Teen Titans Titles 1964–1965: Header
Teen Titans (Vol. 1) 1966–1978: Upper Left
The New Teen Titans 1980–1996: Upper Right
Titans (Vol. 3) 2016–2019: Lower Left
Teen Titans (Vol. 6) 2016–Present: Lower Right

Female Main Character x Male Monster (both cis)
Growing up in the orphanage, I had always wanted to join the City Guard. I used to watch them as they made their rounds and daydream of being like them. They were noble and worthy, things that I wanted so badly to be. When I was discharged from the orphanage I trained hard, even though I had nothing, just so I could pass the exams to become a guard. I taught myself combat maneuvers and built my strength. I knew that, as a woman, I would have to push myself twice as hard as anybody else. But it would all be worth it in the end. I passed the exam with flying colors.
Eventually, I began to see that the members of the City Guard thought that their position allowed them more freedom than the common man. Most of the guards I came to know were corrupt and selfish, but I thought if I stayed I could try and make the City Guard a better organization. Unfortunately, one cold rainy afternoon while I was putting on my armor, two other guards tried to force themselves on me. Sadly for them, they forgot I was the best fighter in the unit, and I bloodied their faces beyond recognition. I will admit I went overboard, but I always treated the guilty like that.
I was dishonorably discharged, and joined a group of mercenaries. They were people who actually did some good for those around them, even if they got nothing but a few coins for it. I felt better working with them than I ever did with the City Guard, and they respected me and saw me for who I was. There were other women among them, and I wasn’t constantly being saddled with a man who bossed me around. We were a team. After years of having to explain why I should be in the City Guard, I finally felt seen and heard among them.

beginner/intermediate writing tips pt 2
so since my last one got so much love here’s pt 2! god im gonna kill myself this got deleted like three times
first of all, make sure your writing (this one mostly applies to fiction) is an even balance of dialogue and action. now there are exceptions to this rule. for example, if your character is alone with no one to talk to, you want more action than dialogue. i suggest as a replacement for dialogue you share the characters inner thoughts. not in the italic way like “Wow this sucks, she thought.” but more in a. “She thought that this sucked.” (bad example but-). but if there are two characters in the setting then i would suggest a nice even balance of dialogue and action like; “He walked over to the table, ‘And what do you mean by that?’”
don’t use dividers in your works please. it’s just. not ethical? i don’t know what i dislike about them they just seem... unprofessional? of course, use them if your going for stylistic writing.
VOCABULARY IS KEY. i know i said this in my last post (briefly) but even if you’re not a natural vocabulist (is that a word? edit: it is, indeed, a word) you can pick up vocabulary super easily! reading a book is a good way to do this, or even listening to documentaries.
don’t overuse pronouns. you know when people are just like “she went to [place]. she did [thing]. she...” that’s overusing pronouns. try to get a proper noun in there here and there. and ALWAYS start your work with a proper noun. if you go into introducing the character with “She is...” that’s just confusing. unless, again, you want to be stylistic.
make sure you have at least a hazy idea of the plot you want to follow when you go into writing your story. of course, some things may change along the way, that’s bound to happen. but you want to make sure you keep your readers captivated rather than confused. this is especially for if you update your work every day/week/month.
numbers! try not to have them as 10 and more as ten. it just makes the story look less choppy. i promise you that 10:30 your about to write looks much better as ten-thirty.
this is like basics 101 but please use periods quite often. here’s a little lesson that’s kind of a complex (ha) one; complex sentence- “independent clause (a sentence that can stand on its own), conjuncture (a connecting word such as and, but, because, which, etc.) dependent clause (a sentence that depends on the independent clause.) simple sentence- independent clause compound sentence- ‘independent clause’, conjucture ‘independent clause’ now be careful with compound sentences; sometimes they can be deceiving. they have to be two independent clauses that relate to eachother. if they don’t relate to eachother, there should be a period in between. you should also use a period after you use a complex, simple, or compound sentence (i almost forgot to add this in lmao that writing really took it out of me)
i guess that’s it for now. reblog and drop a like if you’d like more little lessons from moi. uh by the way im just a second year highschool student so some of these things may be wrong but just uh give me a bit of leeway. also i plan to do another thing on stylistic writing since i bring it up so often so stay tuned for that

Does anyone think about how animals with super powers like Pokemon or just DRAGONS could possibly obscure the land? Make landmarks that years later could be seen by later generations as either awe inspiring like the Grand Canyon or a tragedy like Hiroshima in our world?
Like a herd of fire breathing hippos could stampede through a village and burn down everything? That would be more disturbing than Elephants stampeding through the village. How would it affect the people that live there afterwards?
A note one would need to focus on when making a story with even Fantasy Creatures like Fairies of Sayters. Do they live in forests and play music to lure people away? If so, would that influence the people that live there to name the forest a certain thing, and do they keep a count of how many people venture in there?
If people have powers themselves, is there a law of them misusing those abilities?
Do they have ways of defending against any of the above? Even if it's Crocodiles that can vomit clay onto golden wildfire caused by a raging swarm of Fire Flies (flies that light things up as a defence mechanism against other animals that want to eat them and the only thing that would get them is Slick webs made by Aqua spiders?) How does the echosystem go? How does their growing defence mechanism put them on the food chain? How do they affect the landscape?
