I really don't mind personals following me, but it is honestly so weird how some of them just treat you as a fandom blog and blindly like/reblog anything non role play that you post. Like why go out of your way to follow a role play blog who will mainly post role play related things only to scroll past them every day and reblog that one piece of fanart they shared. Wouldn't following a normal fandom blog be easier?

"i’ll also hardblock if you’re writing noncon, incest, and explicit abuse/domestic violence. just be normal." Uh, are people who write scripts for movies containing these things, novels containing these things, and most fanfiction and roleplays containing these things... Not normal? The idiocy of this mindset.

I understand not wanting personals to interact with you but it rubs me the wrong way where it says somewhere on someone's blog "PERSONAL BLOGS WILL BE BLOCKED INSTANTLY". Like? Some of us use our personals as hub blogs for our side rp blogs. Sorry we want to make our experience easier by not wanting to make 283628368236 accounts and remember all them passwords. Like forget that noise.
Sorry if it wasn't meant to sound harsh but its actually isolating to those of us that have side rp blogs.

I’ve noticed that a lot of selective and/or private blogs have nigh-unusable themes with fonts so swirly they’re unintelligible, buttons so tiny that you can barely see them, rules/about links that take you to a card or google doc, and a tiny, tiny, TINY little square that displays actual posts while the rest of the screen is taken up by b&w images of the muse so deep-fried that you can barely make out the face.

The current mentality of people in the rpc stating that no one wants to interact or reach out is so tiring. Especially when you have reached out, sent IMs for plots and meme prompts, but they continue to sit on their blog and wallow, going 'woe is me, no one wants to interact'. All while never expending the energy to take initiative and talk to others because 'anxiety'. I have it too, but you have to take the chance or things will never change.

Here's a fun fact: sending me a bunch of asks begging me to roleplay with you after I already told you the first time that I simply wasn't interested, isn't going to make me suddenly change my mind and agree to roleplay with you after all.

I guess you were lying every time you said you liked my portrayal and my characters. Seeing as you dumped me so quickly for the other people you roleplay with now that you like better than you ever liked mine. This is why I don’t reach out anymore.

If you’re non selective but you only write with a small group of people, perhaps you should think about calling yourself selective so people know you’re already taken and no longer available for further threads. Honesty would be appreciated.

I've written in several fandoms lately. Something seems to happen that they die out not long after I get there. Problem with the source content or its creators, mean writers who make special cliques and discard others that don't reach their impossible standards, lack of new official content... There's always a practical explanation for the community leaving blogs or moving on but it's hard not to feel like a bad luck omen at times.

I don't know where the expectation of being available online 24/7 came from, but it's always sad to see mutuals apologizing for not being online for a day or a few days or so at a time. Real life (or even just not feeling in the mood to write some days) takes precedent over roleplaying and no one should be made to feel guilty for that. Unless someone wants to start paying you a wage to be here, you're roleplaying on your own time, not anyone else's.

One-liners and short para rps are boring as shit for me. They don’t let me flex my creative muscles at all, and they give next to zero satisfaction upon posting because they took no time to make the replies for, unlike the amazing feeling I get when I post a finished multipara or novella. They’re just a huge waste of time for me.

The whole "if you're not going to follow me back, just soft block me" thing makes me laugh. For starters, why are you putting the onus on the other person to break the connection when they weren't even expecting your follow? And a lot of people don't even look at blogs that follow them until they speak up and message them, because a lot of us are getting tired of silent followers. I don't know, it's just laughable to me.

I think policing what other people write is insane; I think blocking (and reporting if something is *actually* illegal to *write*) is better. Purity police claim to stand up for trauma victims and "prevent them from re-experiencing their trauma", which is awful because not only are they speaking for us trauma survivors, and lashing out if we point it out, but they take away our agency to act for ourselves upon seeing a trigger. The coddling is an insult and helps perpetrate harmful mentalities.

It's not a good feeling, being ghosted just because "you're not one of the partners they've known for a long time". I was still a good six months old or so, and we had a great thread and storyline going. I guess on the bright side, they had the respect to tell me I did nothing wrong after I asked why they removed me from our messaging app. But I'm getting so tired of this. I hate waiting so long just to get shafted because I'm the "new guy".

Okay, I don't care what peoples' opinions of certain ships, etc, are in the rpc, but if your rules say something like 'I reserve the right to cyberbully the f*** out of people' if they see certain things, I'm running the other direction.

I hate the culture of self-deprecation among muns here. It seems like an unspoken rule to respond to praise with “omg lol noooo, I’m but a mere potato”, and to say things like “I’m more afraid of you than you are of me”, and “we’re all just nerds on computers lol”, because if you don’t, you’re seen as aloof or unapproachable. I’m proud of my writing and muse, and I don’t want to lie about being afraid of people. It just creates an atmosphere where rpers are seen as second-rate fic writers.
