Question: How did Supernatural ending affect your day-to-day relationship with Jensen? 'Cause you went from working together every day to not.
Jared: Yeah, great question. It didn't, really? I mean, even during Supernatural - granted we spent so much time with each other every day? But if, you know, he had a week off, he went to see his family. I went to see my family. And we'd text and be like, hey, I'm going to dinner, I'm gonna watch the game or UFC fight or something. It was like, ah, I can't make it, or I can, I'll see you there. And so it never really changed. And I think it's this far out - four years after wrapping? It's so weird to think about fifteen years. You know in America, kindergarten - I'm sorry, school is like, kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth. That's when you graduate high school, and then thirteenth and fourteenth and so it's almost like starting with somebody in kindergarten and going all the way through sophomore year in college or university with somebody. But that's the only fucking person you see, it's not like, oh, he's in the class, it's like, oh, I'm staring at his face all the time. And so we'll always have a pretty deep connection. And I was friends with him when he met his wife, he was on set when I met my wife. You know, we flew together when he had his twins and I was on set with him when my first was born. So we have all these milestones that we've shared and so it's just an easy relationship, you know? Like, if I don't see him for a day? It's like, hey. If I don't see him for a month? It's like, hey. It's a great - it's not a needy relationship. Like I'm totally needy with my wife, if I don't talk to her, I'm like is she mad at me? Just kidding. Kinda kidding. But with Ackles, we're just buddies, you know? I know he's busy, he knows I'm busy. So it's almost like a - and the way my life is structured, I had a great question, well, Jensen and I both had a great question yesterday about, like, what's your next goal in life. About, like, being better about relationships. My brother, my legit brother I just talked about? He lives a ten minute drive away. Sometimes we'll see each other three times in a week, our kids will play together and all that? And sometimes I don't see him for two months. And he lives ten minutes away. But it's like, okay, he's a doctor, he has a wife and kids, I'm an actor with a wife and kids, life is busy. But I'm not concerned. And he's not concerned. So I feel like that's the same. I don't think my time not filming with him now is different than my time not filming with him four years ago, five years ago, ten years ago, a hundred years ago, however fucking long we [?]. So yeah, I'll always - he stood at my wedding, I stood at his, we'll always be connected.

Question: So as an older sibling, I relate a lot to Dean and his relationship with Sam, and I was wondering what it was like to build that relationship up on screen?
Jensen: I mean, that relationship started the moment I met Jared. And I say that because we immediately had this connection through just our - who we were. Both born and raised, y'know, similar area by similar parents, surrounded ourselves with similar friends, played the same kind of sports, had the same kind of interests. He was a little bit more nerdy than I was but that's fine. He was a mathlete, which [makes dismissive noise] - nothing against math, it's useful, but don't be a dork about it like he was. [laughs] So but when we first introduced ourselves, it was immediate, there was, it was like - Oh where are you from? Oh, San Antonio. Where are you from? Dallas? No way. You know, we'd root for the same sports teams, there was just an immediate, like, friendship that happened when we met. And so the day we met was the day that we ended up auditioning together as Dean and Sam in front of the studio and the network and everything, so. So we went from meeting each other in the waiting room of the studio to then going into another room and playing brothers. And so it was instant, that that started. And then what really solidified it was when we got the job, which was that day in the room, they were like, congratulations, you guys are the brothers Winchester. And we're like, sweet! So then they, the studio was like, alright, well let's get these guys in fighting shape. Like these brothers should know how to handle themselves. And I was like, uh, I know how to handle myself. And they're like, no no no, we know, but we're gonna help you out a little bit anyway. I'm like, alright, fine. So they put us into boxing training. We went and started working at this gym, this boxing gym, started learning, we were punching things every day. I'll never forget one time they were like, alright, it had been, like, a few weeks and we'd been working on the heavy bag, working speed bags, working on focus mitts.
Jensen: And they were like, alright, I think you guys are ready to get in the ring together. And we're like, oho. And I'm looking at him like, I'm gonna knock this tall skinny son of a bitch out. And we put the head gear on, and we were dancing around, a couple of jabs to the body, a couple punches, and then he just rocked my nose, just boom! and I was like [makes exaggerated faces] and I went back against the ropes, and I was just like, you motherfucker. And so I was back and then I went for a jab and he dodged it, and I just went [mimes throwing a punch] boom! right in the side of his ear. And he was like, and he'll tell you, he was like, it was like a bell rung [imitates bell noise, and exaggeratedly staggers]. And then, I forget, I think he just started swinging his arms wildly and then I [mimes swinging wildly] and they were like, 'Alright alright alright! We're done! You guys don't get to fight against each other any more!' And then he and I were like, yeah, I think we're better if we fight other people together, rather than each other. So that again kind of started solidifying our relationship. And then as some of you know, we ended getting up to Vancouver and we had an unfortunate incident where after a few days of filming, everything was going great, he and I were having a great time, we went to go meet a producer at a restaurant one evening after we finished work and there was a group of drunk guys that just started fighting us in the street. They mistook us for somebody that they had just gotten kicked out of a bar - because they were in, some of you know this story. They got into a thing with some other guys in a bar, they got kicked out, and then when they were coming around the side of the building, we happened to be walking that way, and they were like, 'That's them!' And Jared and I were like, 'Who?' And that's all the warning we got, and then they just started throwing punches. Jared and I had just come off of, like, eight weeks of boxing training? [mimes blowing on and polishing his knuckles] Hold my beer. We lit 'em up. And then, yeah, that's, I mean, then he and I were bonded for life and that was just a few days into filming. So if we weren't already, you know, brother types, we were definitely then and then it just kept taking shape and growing as the seasons and the years went on and so yeah. It's why my kids call him Uncle Jared.

Walker episode 3 review
Making space. For past lost love, for current love, for children’s independence.
The episode starts with Liam foreshadowing the state of Cordell and Geri relationship when he explains the Japanese art of kintsugi, putting broken pottery pieces back together by using gold as glue, a metaphor for embracing flaws and imperfections and creating another piece of art.  Cordell and Geri’s relationship is complicated by the tragic deaths of their respective partners within 2 years of each other and the four of them were friends since high school.
Trey and Liam tease Cordell for not telling Geri that he loves her, and Trey advises the classic “give her a drawer” at his place to show commitment. Liam talks about Stella to Cordell, but he rather trusts Stella to come to him as he's giving his adult child space. Then Cordell follows Trey's advice on giving Geri space in his wardrobe in an awkward but sweet scene.  Cordell and Geri were monogamous with their respective late partners for 20 years, so they're inexperienced when it comes to new relationships.
Like father like daughter, the Rawlings are bad influences on the fiery member of the Walker clan.  Sadie Rawlings had convinced Stella to pretend not to have met Witt before the break-in because Stella is about to go to college and Sadie has a record.  In a panic, Stella went along.  I think ever since she spent a night in jail for something she didn’t do but because she hadn’t earned her father's trust due to her lack of credibility weighs on Stella's fear.
Like father and daughter, Stella investigates off-the-books (i.e. not telling adults) on who is targeting her with threatening messages and leaving her car smelling like gasoline, a matchbook, and Witt’s picture.  Wait, I didn’t know Witt’s body was burned in a fiery car crash.  Was this the first time they said this or was it mentioned in an earlier episode?
Liam's default state is to help people, but Stella shuts him out and Cordell isn't biting, so he's helping Cassie clear out her storage unit of sentimental items.  Meanwhile, Cordell looks for a shirt that Emily gave him, which Geri had accidentally donated when she made room for her things.  This upsets Cordell who assumed because Geri was present when Emily gave him the shirt 20 years ago, that she would know how much it means to him.  Half of Cassie’s sentimental collections aren’t even stuff she partook in but will once she slows down in some unscheduled point in the future.  Cordell looks to the past while Cassie looks to the future, neither are in the present.
Alan Alda once said, “Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in.” Liam and Abilene respectively encourage Cassie and Cordell to start anew by not making assumptions and being active in the present. Liam gives Cassie tickets to a robot fight event and she in turns gives him a personalized key chain that he wanted all his life but never purchased for himself because Cordell couldn't have one due to how unusual his name is.
Side note: I really need a backstory on why Bonham and Abeline saddled their first born with such an unusual name.
Side note 2: Cassie couldn't have a personalized key chain either because there isn't enough Cassandras in the world. The Greek myth origin of Cassandra was a priestess who could see the future but was never believed. Hence Cassie living up to her namesake ever since she arrived in the scene.
Turns out Geri hadn't been so great with communicating to Cordell either when he had accidentally broke Hoyt’s mug but Geri didn’t mention it.  They promised to try to communicate better and they finally said their “I love you” for the first time after 3 years of slow burn and misfires.  These two don’t have a traditional “getting together” as they are widower and widow, even though Geri and Hoyt were never married their on-off-again relationship did last 20 years.  While Cordell couldn’t get his Emily-gave-me-shirt back, he glued Hoyt’s mug back together, a callback to Liam's kintsugi talk at the start of the episode.
August first day at preparation boot camp led him to make the same mistakes that many young soldiers make ahead of their first deployment, they sell all their belongings but then they have nothing to come back to upon their return home. They made too much space but fortunately Trey mentors August towards a more balanced head space and he decides to keep his vinyl collection just like Cassie keeping her dvd collections.
While on night duty at the Ranger HQ, Cassie asks Cordell and Trey to catch her up while she was gone for 5 months; jokingly including hackers and serial killers.  Seeing Trey's and Cordell's silent facial communication, Cassie turns on her inner Sam Winchester excitement over a real serial killer on the loose and offers up her FBI connections to help with the off-the-book investigation.
The episode ends Stella and Sadie are coming up with dead ends in their off-the-book investigation when a very much alive and not-burned Witt forces Stella to drive him to an undisclosed location.
Speculation  #3!  After hearing that Stella had visited his memorial, Witt decided Stella is the one whom he can trust to get him out of whatever predicament he's in.
Score: 8.9 out of 10.  A good bottle episode focusing on character studies and development before next week's episode's deeper dive into case of the serial killer Jackal.

Another AO3 app that's pretending to be official when it's not (or at least isn't making it clear its unofficial.) They're using AO3's name and logo, and embedding ads.
There is no official AO3 app
Someone else is gathering your data, potentially your log in information etc and making use of it how they please. (They say they're not but their privacy policy says otherwise)
They are making money from the ads without the fic writer's consent.
They've also rated it Pegi 3 (which is ludicrous)
Please, even if you care about nothing else, for the safety of your data, please don't use this app. Certainly don't give it your AO3 log in details.
I've told AO3 that it's infringing on its copyright. I will be requesting they remove access of my work as I do not consent to my creative content being used to generate ad revenue for them.
I will be reporting it as incorrectly rated.
The only email address I can find is [email protected] which is included in their privacy policy, and [email protected] as their developer.

So we all know that Tumblr is US-centric. But to what degree? (and can we skew the results of this poll by posting it at a time where they should be asleep?)

omg that endverse ficlet is so good!! there's something about the idea of lucifer seeing himself as in competition with dean over sam. considering Swan Song - it's kinda true.
oh thank you!!
i find any interaction between dean and lucifer very interesting--but especially the endverse conversation--because their implicit struggle is all about who owns sam.
sam exists in a fun hazy in-between area of Other Person and Self for both dean and lucifer. sam is necessary. sam is Part of Me. sam is, almost, Me.
for lucifer, in a much more literal sense, as sam is lucifer's fated vessel. but for dean, because so much of dean's identity is sam. dean's main goal is to look out for sam. he finds a lot of his joy through the idea of family, and a lot of his joy stems from sam, specifically. dean is his most authentic self when interacting with sam.
lucifer has dominion over sam's body, but dean has dominion over sam's soul, in a sense. sam loses his identity (and his love for dean, a defining fact that implies him to be Other) when he's without a soul. they're soul-mates. one split in two. special cases.
sam is an idea, and he's a person, and he's a soul, and he's a body, and he belongs to someone.
the show kind of tells us that sam can't belong to himself because he's not very "good" at it. he trusts the wrong people. he lures and imprisons an innocent woman specifically to kill her. he doesn't pick up a kidnapped high schooler's increasingly frantic calls. he has to be owned, to be cared for, to be good. even soulless sam is only "good" when he has dean to guide him in a moral direction.
anyway! it really makes me think, because lucifer already comes with an incredible sense of entitlement, but also because sam (almost canonically? can it be argued?) that he was made to belong to two different people. in a physical, concrete sense: lucifer. he is a shell for lucifer to crawl into.
in a more abstract, complete sense: dean. he was made--cosmically--to be dean's other half, his foil in the battle for good and evil, and he needs dean to be "good," which is a constant internal struggle for his character.
in swan song, it's literally The Battle For Sam. lucifer has dominion over sam's body, but dean has dominion/guardianship his soul, and it's his soul that wins! his soul is always more powerful! and lucifer doesn't expect that, first because he underestimates humanity as a whole but second, he underestimates sam, and his soul's capacity to love and to be loved!
GAH! i have so many feelings/thoughts about how the show portrays sam as something to be had (or at the very least, monitored? guarded? protected?), and especially over how that conflicts/contrasts with his desires and motives.
anyway. you didn't ask for that! i'm sorry. but i'm glad you liked the little ficlet i wrote for the other post!!!! thank you, anon! mwah! <3

Yesterday remember I mentioned here that when I tackled on this prompt I had first tried to do a smiling Sammy and then gave up because it was too OOC for season 1 Sam? Welllll this is him. This should probably be...idk, a date with Jess or something? I considered discarding him altogether but in the end I felt he deserved to smile. the bouquet he's holding has water violets, purple hydrangeas, sunflowers and lavander.

Everything you have ever done, the good and the bad, you have done for love. You raised your little brother for love. You fought for this whole world for love. That is who you are. You’re the most caring man on Earth. You are the most selfless, loving human being I will ever know.
