Happy anniversary to Arlo the Alligator Boy, I remember watching it back in 2021 and I instantly fall in love with this underrated gem. Besides meeting Arlo and the gang, it's filled with colorful animation, banging songs and great performances, it became one of favorite animated films of all time. To this day, I'm still hoping for season 2 of I heart Arlo but for now, Happy anniversary to our little alligator boy! 🥰🎂🐊🍕🦅🐟🐅

In case no one told you growing up

Bras last longer if you let them air dry. Don’t put them in the dryer.

If you have a problem with frizzy hair, don’t dry your hair with a towel. It makes the frizzies worse. (I recently read an article that said to use a t-shirt? I brush mine out and let it air dry.)

Whites wash best in hot water. Everything else can be in cold - save on your electricity bill.

You can kill 99.9% of germs in a sponge by putting it in the dishwasher for a cycle or by microwaving it for 2 min (be sure to make the sponge damp before microwaving and to put a cup half full of water in with it and please DO NOT squeeze the sponge until it has cooled off)

Airing out your room/house and letting sunlight in every so often can decrease the number of household pests like silverfish and ants.

Black underwear is best during your period as stains are less likely to be visible.

To save money, put aside 10% of each paycheck into a savings account. It’ll add up.

Unless your hair has something on/in it (like grease or mud or something), using conditioner first can actually be the better choice. The conditioner holds in the good oils that help you hair look sleek and beautiful, which shampoo would otherwise wash away.

Speaking of shampoo - if you have long hair, washing just the bits that touch your scalp is generally enough. The rest of your hair gets cleaned with just the run off from your scalp.

If you put a tampon in and it’s uncomfortable/you can feel it, you didn’t do it quite right. A properly placed tampon is virtually unnoticeable by the wearer.

Apply deodorant/antiperspirant a couple hours in advance of when you need it. This gives the product the chance to block your sweat glands. Using deodorant just before going somewhere where you’ll sweat (this means walking outside for people in high humidity places) results in your sweat washing the deodorant off and starkly limiting its usefulness.

After running the dryer, use the dryer sheet from that load to brush out the lint catch - it gets everything off in a fraction of the time it’ll take you to get it clean with your bare hands. Paper towels also work well.

Wash your face everyday, or as often as possible. Forget which brand of cleanser is best. Just washing your face everyday will guarantee you clearer skin. And do you best not to pop pimples, as tempting as the urge may be.

Fold laundry asap after taking it from the dryer to avoid wrinkles. This may seem obvious for dress shirts and silly for things like t-shirts, but you’ll notice the difference even then once your shirts stop looking like unfolded paper balls.

So apparently some people new to Tumblr think a repost and a reblog are the same thing, so when they see creators asking for people to not repost, they're thinking the creators are saying to not reblog 😭

Y'all, a repost is when you copy/download the work and create a new post using the work making it seem as if it's yours. A reblog is you using a site provided feature to share the creator's post directly from the creator so that it's still credited to them and they still get all of the traction/notes from the work.

Please, reblog fics/art/etc. that you enjoy! Reblogging is not reposting! Creatives need support too, and reblogging is a way to do that!

So like, you know how Arlo really doesn’t like the taste of snails? What if Ansel’s the same way? (You just know he forced himself to eat at at least one fancy French restaurant during his ‘trying to fit in with high society’ phase)

When the others learn this, Arlo gets excited that he has another thing in common with his dad, but Tony - the chef that he is - sees it as a challenge and thinks he can try to get them to like snails through his cooking (think snail-topped pizza or snail-filled calzones)

Arlo’s willing to give it a try and drags Ansel along with him, but by the third dish/attempt these two are just NOT having a good time. It’s basically like that one Bob’s Burgers ep where Linda tries to help Teddy learn to like sushi

PSA for Switch owners

The latest 11.0 update means that Google Analytics is a thing on the switch and turned on. What that means is that Nintendo has a deal with Google to share with them your data for advertisement purposes.

To turn it off

go to the eShop

go to your profile where your funds and account info is

go down to the bottom of the page

there you will see “Google Analytics Preferences”

select the Change

select “Don’t Share”

Please spread the word. Really shitty of Nintendo to just quietly start allowing Google to spy on users for advertising.

To the 3 or so people currently still in the Arlo the Alligator Boy/I Heart Arlo fandom: all the cold weather that we were dealing with up here in the Midwest a couple weeks back got me thinking about Arlo again.

Being both part-reptile and from the swamp, I imagine Arlo’s first winter in Seaside/NYC is quite the shock for him once he experiences his first heavy snow/below zero temps. Having similar feelings, being part-bird and all, I imagine Ansel offering to simply take Arlo down south with him for the winter - but for as icky and grumpy as the cold can make him feel at its worst, I feel like Arlo would politely refuse since he wouldn't want to miss out on his first winter in his new home/with his new friends.

So he, Ansel, Bertie and the others brainstorm a bunch of different ways to cope with winter - and on the REALLY cold nights, everyone just stays at Ansel's penthouse with the heat cranked up. (maybe Arlo and Marcellus end up getting a heat lamp/heated pool as their respective holiday gifts too, heh)

I also just imagine this specific scenario where- after a week of things being super cold and VERY cloudy and it starting to seriously effect Arlo’s mood despite how much he tries to not let it - Ansel is able to help him feel a bit better by flying him up above the clouds, allowing him to see/feel the sun, at least for a bit.
