Severus Snape mindlessly doodles stuff when he’s bored or deep in thoughts.
Imagine some students getting their paper back with sketches of animals or flowers bcs he daydreamed in the middle of grading. Certain students asking him to start an art club. The older students just taking whatever he draws without thinking as a prophecy of sorts: “Cat, turtle, amaryllis— OH shit, McGonnagall will give us a quiz and it would be hard!”
The prophecy thing kinda sorta worked 30% of the time.

Severus with the rest of the frogs, of course. Was it his plan to rescue the frog spawn from Professor Slughorn? No. Did he have a choice? Also no.

here's an excerpt from ootp, chapter 29, where lupin consoles harry after harry finds out james and sirius were bullies:
“Yeah,” said Harry, “but he just attacked Snape for no good reason, just because — well, just because you said you were bored,” he finished with a slightly apologetic note in his voice. “I’m not proud of it,” said Sirius quickly.
Lupin looked sideways at Sirius and then said, “Look, Harry, what you’ve got to understand is that your father and Sirius were the best in the school at whatever they did — everyone thought they were the height of cool — if they sometimes got a bit carried away —” “If we were sometimes arrogant little berks, you mean,” said Sirius. Lupin smiled. “He kept messing up his hair,” said Harry in a pained voice. Sirius and Lupin laughed. “I’d forgotten he used to do that,” said Sirius affectionately. “Was he playing with the Snitch?” said Lupin eagerly. “Yeah,” said Harry, watching uncomprehendingly as Sirius and Lupin beamed reminiscently. “Well . . . I thought he was a bit of an idiot.”
they were smiling right after harry told them about seeing snape's worst memory. smiling and laughing. they were barely remorseful but for, what, a few moments? then they just brushed it off. then they try to make harry like his dad again and negate the cruelty of what happened. the cruelty of trying to forcefully expose someone's genitals to a crowd of jeering and cheering kids.
...assholes.

Haven’t drawn Severus before so I needed to kinda get my hands familiar with how I wanted to be drawing him in the future. It’ll make things easier in the future, spring boards never are that interesting to look at but… ehh? Acceptable?

The fourth book is the best one because we get some of the best Snape scenes in the series back to back.

Snape knowing unsupported flight being revealed then dismissed in such a nonchalant way is hilarious to me like oh yeah Snape can fly without a broom, btw it’s an extremely rare, unprecedented skill previously thought to be impossible and only ever used by one other person, the Dark Lord himself, but anyway-

how did young snape get so good at potions when you have to buy your own potion ingredients? i would think it would require a lot of experimentation...

After realizing how Harry had grown up among the Dursleys - Snape easily took a notice how much the holidays and gifts chosen for him, with thought and affection, means to Harry.

Snape's speech about putting a stopper in death is actually the toned down version. His first ever lesson began with a practical demonstration involing a terrifyingly complicated potion and a student's pet kneazle. 💀
