Once it becomes clear that it isn't going to dissipate on its own, Klaus is in the doorway with his arms crossed over his chest. "The two of you were separated for a reason," he begins, eyes on him most prominently. "You were explicitly told not to touch her things. And yet here you are pulling it all out of your pockets. She isn't being dramatic, she is frustrated with you." Klaus takes steps forward, and points to the bed behind the both of them. "The shirt I slept in is also missing, and I know it wasn't you." His eyes fall on his girlfriend, pointed expression taking over his features. "You can't be upset with him for stealing your things when you're the one who taught him that it's okay to take other people's things. I swear dealing with the two of you is like raising the triplets all over again."

' i told you not to touch my stuff. and you've completely moved everything - ' she does not take change well, especially not her things being moved from their place. ' i said you could put your own things in here as long as they did not take the place of mine and you completely - ' while she goes on a rather irritated tangent, he's only resting against the doorway completely rather smug of himself. ' so where is my stuff ? ' he finally chims back into her ranting, with her pointing at the cluttered nightstand.

' relax, princess. ' there's a very dramatic roll of his eyes, before he's beginning to pull objects from his suit pockets. lipstick, silver lighter, her cigarettes and other small objects. ' you act like i destroyed them. which to my credit i initially tried to at the beginning - ' and of course tobias's little raise in her voice has no doubt brought the person of both their affections ( obsessions ) coming to the doorway, in which case he doesn't bother to finish the sentence. She's alive, but they don't know where. It's infuriating, and it's seen Klaus holing himself up in the library of the home he'd acquired. He isn't surprised when Jackie seeks him out, but he doesn't stop reading the book in his hands when she makes herself comfortable; Klaus simply adjusts to accommodate her. "I have not, but I'm also not particularly in the mood, love." He flips the page, eyes flitting up to her for just a moment before returning. "Did you want to be fed on? Is that it?"

main plot points:

klaus's fc for this verse is JACOB ANDERSON. alwysndforever's esther (angela bassett) is my klaus's canon esther for this verse.

upon gaining the knowledge that there is a human doppelganger alive, klaus begins looking for werewolves to turn to hybrids after he breaks the curse. the first he finds is jackie matlin (insanislupus), a werewolf that hadn't been triggered for too long and was desperate for an end to the cycle. klaus offered her an out in the form of turning into a hybrid, and all she had to do in exchange was remain loyal to him and do his bidding.

as in normal klaus fashion, he begins sleeping with jackie and learns more about her as time goes on. he consistently tests her loyalty to him, whether it be sending her off to get things for him, to spy for him, or threatening to kill her just to see how she reacts. it is not a wholesome relationship.

klaus eventually decides that jackie is worthy of his trust, and sends her to mystic falls to keep an eye on the doppelganger for him and make sure nothing happens to her until klaus needs her. in that time, jackie pretends to be elena's friend but also garners a very twisted form of affection and care for elena as well.

when the time comes for klaus to break the hybrid curse, jackie reveals her involvement with klaus that very night. she is there through the whole thing and isn't expecting elijah's betrayal, but is there when klaus turns for the first time in a thousand years.

when klaus and jackie leave with stefan to find more wolves and after klaus gives stefan's memories back to him, he begins sleeping with stefan as well as jackie. the situation is incredibly complicated considering jackie's history with elena, and elena nearly asking jackie to be with both her and stefan.

klaus makes it very clear that jackie is not to be turned until they figure out why the other wolves can't complete the transition. this puts a strain on their relationship, as jackie wanted to be the first hybrid he turned as well as her being impatient to be free of the full moon curse. klaus says it's because he values jackie's loyalty and can't afford to lose her because of it, but in truth it's because he cares about her more than he is willing to admit.

when they get back to mystic falls and figure out that the issue is doppelganger blood, jackie is turned directly after tyler. klaus notices the sirebond in jackie well before anyone notices it in tyler, he simply says nothing about it. their relationship becomes far more intense because of it, and both of them fully attribute it to the sirebond, when in reality it's more than that.

klaus sends jackie to extract elena's blood as much and as often as possible, because he knows elena would never let him do it himself. during one of those times, elena and jackie sleep together. the reasoning for this is extremely convoluted and complicated, but essentially it boils down to jackie feeling left without as much attention as she used to get from klaus (the feeling intensified from the sirebond) because of everything going on, as well as both jackie and elena never getting to explore their unresolved feelings for each other before jackie betrayed her. klaus is irritated with this, but not angry about it, mostly because it bodes an advantage for him. (it should be because he'd be a hypocrite because of what happened with stefan, but he will never ever recognize that)

regarding hayley & hope, klaus still sleeps with hayley and gets her pregnant even though he's in a fairly serious relationship with jackie. he is just not a good guy, y'all. he's a rat. he is a bad boyfriend. will that stop jackie from being obsessed with him? absolutely not.

the rest of the timeline isn't as detailed, as we tend to write within season 3 of tvd or the originals, but most canon events are still canon. if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

there are two subverses off of this verse as well, one that involves @hiveruled's tvdu verse and one where jackie kills and turns elena at the end of S3 when she believes klaus is dead, and elena ends up sired to jackie instead of damon.

Sometimes Klaus wants to believe his mother. The shame he felt upon seeing her for the first time since he tore her heart out is the only reason she is still around, and most of the time he regrets that decision. But there are moments, such as now, when she utters words that he longed to hear when he was just a boy and begging for a mother's love. Moments that threaten to strip Klaus down to his very core. It's in these fleeting seconds that he somewhat believes her intentions are noble, that she wishes to rectify her past mistakes, her past neglect.

If only he could truly allow himself to fully believe it.

"Funny," the hybrid starts, shoving back the unwanted water in his eyes. He refuses to be weak in front of her again. "How that was all you had to say when I was being beaten half to death by your husband, and I would have felt like my mother actually cared for me." Steps are heavy as he nears her, voice lowering dangerously. "Instead, you chose to look the other way. Her disdain for him only serves to have him smile at her. Bonnie Bennett has always been an intriguing variable in Mystic Falls, one that Klaus thoroughly enjoyed toying with. There's just something about the way she holds back every bit of her power in favor of getting what she wants; it reminds him of himself, and very few people do that nowadays.

It makes Klaus respect her far more than others.

"I'll be nice this time and make you an offer that doesn't involve killing you," he comments, followed by a few steps toward her. "I have access to a plethora of dark and cursed objects made by the witches in New Orleans. They might be of use to you." Klaus stops directly in front of her and brings a hand to gently brush back a bit of hair from Bonnie's face. "In exchange, I need you to locate someone for me. Simple enough, is it not?"

headcanon.

at some points in originals canon, bee is used not only as a conduit for showing klaus's lack of parenting skills, but also as a plot device to show how powerful and unstoppable hope is going to be.

hope is a firstborn mikaelson witch of the new millennium; fully activated, she will be twice as powerful as beatrice not only when it comes to magical abilities, but strength as well. the magic in her blood makes her a faster werewolf and a stronger vampire, on top of the spells she does being more powerful than others.

things like this are displayed by showing the chaos of bee as well as contrasting it to bastien's more docile nature. the dynamic between bee and bastien as well as the contrast between the two is shown to emphasize how hope could turn out like one or the other, or both.

obviously this isn't all bee's presence in canon is for. she has her own storylines and relationships and dynamics, but it's a part of it. showing how chaotic and reckless bee is puts a lot of pressure on klaus (by everyone else) to actually parent hope now that the chance to be a parent hasn't been forcefully taken from him like it had been with the twins.
