🧺              ⌣           “   they’re  just  so   …   slimy  and  weird  looking  and  some  of  them  are  so  scary   .   not  to  mention  there’s  not  telling  what  else  is  in  the  ocean   ,   what  if  i  see  something  i’m  just  not  equipped  to  see   ?   sometimes  i  wonder  if  pacific  rim  was  onto  something   ,   there  could  be  MONSTERS  deep  down  under  the  sea  and  i  wanna  live  in  blissful  ignorance   .   ”     finally  she  takes  a  breath  after  her  long  winded  explanation   ,   no  care  for  how  silly  she  must  sound   .

          “  okay  yeah  that’s  totally  VALID  .  some  of  those  deep  sea  creatures  look  a  little  terrifying  .  but  again  ,  there’s  a  reason  why  they’re  in  the  deep  sea  .  they’re  NEVER  going  to  see  the  light  of  day  ,  ”  they  muse  with  a  nod  .  ligaya  does  have  a  point  !  “  safe  to  say  that  you’re  more  of  a  fear  the  ocean  more  than  space  kinda  person  ?  they’re  both  terrifying  but  there’s  just  ...  so  much  of  the  ocean  that’s  unexplored  .  ”

It was an answer. “You?”

          “  i  guess  i  can’t  fault  you  for  lacking  taste  ,  ”  they  lightly  jest  before  helping  themselves  to  a  forkful  of  baklava  .  her  mind  wanders  ,  wondering  if  there’s  a  chance  the  ship  would  be  docking  in  turkey  .  given  its  proximity  to  the  greek  isles  ,  they  think  they  should  !  “  wow  that’s  not  vague  at  all  ,  ”  she  chuckles  ,  but  leaves  it  at  that  .  they  know  him  well  enough  to  not  pry  .  “  broke  off  a  long-term  relationship  because  of  work  priorities  and  decided  it’s  better  now  than  never  to  take  a  vacation  ,  ”  lara  explains  .  “  although  ,  i  ran  into  my  ex  on  the  ship  of  all  places  so  thats  . . .  fun  .  ”

                   ✿               𖥦                𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦   ,   𝑦𝑢𝑛𝑎   𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑠   ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓   waiting   to   be   served   a   sampler   of   twelve   wines   &   a   charcuterie   board   in   a   restaurant   in   santorini   .   clad   in   a   white   sundress   ,   a   pair   of   sandals   ,   &   a   sun   hat   ,   she   was   basking   in   the   sun   &   admiring   the   sapphire  waters  that   surrounded   the   aegean   islands   .   perhaps   ,   she   was   too   indulgent   with   the   amount   of   drinks   she   was   about   to   consume   ,   but   she   goes   by   the   saying   :   '   𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡   𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓   '   .   yuna   was   scrolling   through   the   pictures   she   took   when   she   hears   a   familiar   voice—   she   thought   it   would   be   a   great   idea   to   share   the   drinks   .   “   hey   !”   she   waved   over   to   their   direction   ,   a   smile   gracing   her   lips   as   she   admires   their   attire   for   the   trip   .   “   i   may   or   may   not   have   ordered   twelve   wines—   care   to   join   me   ?   it’s   my   treat   .   ”

          santorini’s  vibrant  architecture  and  sapphire  waters  truly  is  a  sight  to  behold  .  they  amble  along  the  streets  ,  searching  for  the  next  thing  to  do  .  for  today  ,  lara  didn’t  have  a  list  of  activities  .  eyes  survey  her  surroundings  before  seeing  yuna  waving  her  over  .  “  hey  !  ”  they  beam  at  the  other  .  “  twelve  wines  ?  ”  she  asks  ,  almost  in  disbelief  but  nonetheless  sliding  into  the  seat  across  from  her  .  “  that’s  certainly  one  way  to  enjoy  your  vacation  .  ”  light  laughter  expels  past  their  lips  .  “  but  what  else  did  you  get  ?  don’t  tell  me  it’s  JUST  wine  .  it’s  barely  midday  .  ”

          “  my  day  is  free  so  i’m  down  to  explore  .  honestly  ,  you’d  be  saving  me  another  day  of  laying  around  at  the  sun  deck  ,  ”  she  admits  with  a  light  chuckle  .  while  this  cruise  so  far  isn’t  bad  ,  most  of  the  amenities  are  food-based  .  and  she  can  only  do  so  much  !  safe  to  say  they’re  looking  forward  to  docking  and  being  able  to  get  off  the  ship  for  a  bit  .  lara  stabs  a  fork  into  her  fruit  bowl  .  “  but  what’s  your  day  like  ?  i  don’t  want  to  take  you  away  from  work  and  get  you  in  trouble  for  playing  hooky  .  ”

location: a restaurant somewhere in crete

                                   it wasn’t difficult for teddy to feel at home in the various towns within greece. though it was still very different from her hometown, the woman felt a sense of belonging here, almost like she had family in this town. so it isn’t so hard to believe that she’s already made friends with the locals despite being here for less than a day. she’s got a glass of raki in hand, smiling at the local bland playing their own rendition of what sounds like… call me maybe? “don’t you just love this sorta stuff? oh, here. try some of the fried snails, they’re so good.”

          she’s  missed  this  .  good  food  .  good  company  .  the  livelihood  .  it  felt  like  home  .  lara’s  already  helping  themselves  to  the  food  without  needing  to  be  asked  ,  nodding  in  agreement  with  teddy  .  “  definitely  !  ”  at  the  mention  of  fried  snails  ,  she’s  already  using  a  pair  of  tongs  to  grab  one  .  “  they  look  delicious  ,  ”  they  comment  ,  maneuvering  the  fork  to  separate  the  meat  from  the  shell  .  “  speaking  of  ,  have  you  tried  the  zucchini  fritters  ?  it  is  just  ––  ”  mimics  the  motion  of  a  chef’s  kiss  .  “  with  the  tzatziki  sauce  .  ”

nimble  fingers  pick  at  the  heat  protectant  sleeve  covering  the  hot  exterior  of  his  latte  cup,  but  immediately  pause  once  his  brain  registers  the  question  being  asked  to  him.  ❝  an  oceanarium  ??  is  that  just,  like,  an  aquarium  on  steroids  or  something  ??  ❞  ali  asks  with  widened  eyes.  ❝  i  haven’t  but  i’d  be  down  to  go  if  you  wanted.  ❞

          sets  her  drink  down  and  helps  herself  to  a  forkful  of  hashbrowns  .  “  i  guess  you  could  say  that  ?  i  assume  it’d  be  like  a  large aquarium  .  ”  although  an  aquarium  on  a  cruise  ship  felt  a  little  ...  questionable  .  is  it  not  just  an  underwater  lounge  ?  “  i  am  curious  now  so  we  could  totally  take  a  couple  hours  to  figure  that  out  if  you’ve  got  time  ?  ”

jaeyi   listens   to   lara   with   a   lot   of   attention   while   drinking   his   coffee,   but   ended   up   feeling   a   little   bit   disappointed   when   he   heard   the   rest.   still   the   smile   was   in   his   face   and   he   nodded   as   his   response   ‘   is   not   my   favorite   part   of   the   ship   but   i   go   there   sometimes.   ’   he   adds,   it   made   him   feel   kind   of   sad,   lonely   and   maybe   nostalgic   and   he   didn’t   even   know   why.   ‘   but   you   should   totally   go   if   you   haven’t   seen   it.   ’

          could  they  have  gone  a  different  way  to  ask  about  the  oceanarium  ?  yes  .  but  where’s  the  fun  in  directly  asking  ?  “  oh  ?  if  you  don’t  mind  me  asking  ,  why  so  ?  you’re  probably  the  first  person  who  expressed  a  different  opinion  than  everyone  else  .  ”  and  lara  isn’t  the  type  of  person  to  let  opinions  influence  her  .  however  ,  she’d  still  like  to  know  !

ANOTHER HOME RUN FOR THE HOME TEAM or whatever. He won & therefore, it was the only thing that matter. One step closer to the goal & another step closer to the life he deserves and has battled to achieve. And, he should be somewhere else doing something else, not this, not going through the obligation of sitting in cruise as request by his friends and, even his new therapeut ––– only the thought of it made zeki laugh. But, for now, he would sit in his booth and will drink to his new contract signed at any point or any hours of any day, regardless of what. ❛ Okay people, the next round on me, cheers . ❜ He announces to anyone closer to listen, mostly, speaking through the phone, letting his associates know they could go out and enjoy, but also to whoever wanted to sink some alcohol in their systems.

          head  whips  around  at  the  sound  of  a  VERY  familiar  voice  .  they  think  they’re  hallucinating  .  there’s  absolutely  no  way  .  what  are  the  odds  ?  doubtful  .  she  blinks  twice  ,  almost  as  if  the  action  would  cause  her  ex-boyfriend  to  disappear  .  lara  internally  curses  .  he’s  the  last  person  they  expect  to  see  .  and  it  hasn’t  been  that  long  since  they  mutually  called  it  quits  on  their  relationship  .  so  yeah  ,  safe  to  say  they  clearly  weren’t  expecting  to  see  him  .  nor  is  she  prepared  .  

 nonetheless  ,  they  signal  for  another  drink  from  the  bartender  .  she  saunters  up  to  the  counter  ,  pushing  down  any  lingering  feelings  .  a  teasing  smile  graces  their  lips  instead  .  “  well  this  is  a  surprise  .  i  thought  you’d  be  too  busy  for  a  vacation  .  or  am  i  interrupting  a  work  trip  ?  ”

❤︎          ↝          ﹕           keon   only   listens   and   nods   in   agreement   .    there’s   just   something   so   comforting   about   going   to   watch   a   movie   with   your   pajamas   and   slippers   on   and   just   lounge   around   whilst   eating   something   tasty   .    you   don’t   have   to   worry   about   anything   except   for   maintaining   the   silence   .      “    i   never   had   the   time   .    ”      he   nods    ,    glancing   over   at   her   with   a   soft   chuckle   .    voice   barely   audible   .      “    i’ve   always   been   so   busy   .    i   think   coming   to   this   ship   is   the   only   time   i   get   to   do   stuffs   like   this   .    ”

          this  was  ...  nice  .  relaxing  even  .  it’s  moments  like  these  that  make  lara  realize  that  they’ve  spent  far  too  much  time  fixated  on  their  career  .  and  while  it’s  not  necessarily  a  TERRIBLE  thing  to  establish  oneself  ,  she  needed  to  learn  how  to  take  a  step  back  .  “  i  totally  get  that  .  the  last  time  i  did  something  like  this  was  college  .  ”  the  lavish  parties  her  family  threw  never  really  counted  in  her  opinion  .  “  have  you  explored  any  other  places  ?  ”  she  asks  ,  eyes  drifting  back  to  the  screen  .

              𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫'𝐬  𝐧𝐨,  𝐨𝐟  𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞;  there  are  people  there.  his  reading  ceases  long  enough  for  him  to  reach  for  his  tea  mug,  eyes  flicking  to  the  other.  though  he  didn’t  think  he  was  the  one  being  spoken  to,  what  if  he  was?  it’d  be  rude  not  to  answer.  once  the  mug  clacks  against  its  matching  saucer,  the  nurse  clears  his  throat  before  offering  a  softly  spoken,  ❝  no,  but  if  you  end  up  going,  please  do  let  me  know  if  it’s  worth  the  trip.  ❞

          his  answer  was  unexpected  as  they’d  been  asking  the  server  that’d   just  set  down  their  food  but  lara  welcomes  it  nonetheless  .  “  yeah  ,  of  course  !  i  heard  it’s  really  calming  at  night  so  i  might  visit  during  then  ,  ”  she  muses  .  “  if  you  don’t  mind  me  asking  ,  do  you  have  any  favorite  spots  on  the  ship  worth  exploring  ?  ”  after  all  ,  the  purpose  of  being  on  this  cruise  is  for  lara  to  actually  focus  on  something  else  other  than  work  .

“coming right up!”  hyunwoo calls out, as he practically dashes over to the other end of the bar. “hi, i’m so sorry to bother you, but can you please pretend you’re completely engrossed in an urgently interesting conversation with me as i make this other guest’s cocktail very slowly?” he could only hope that the neon lights of the bar were enough to hide how furiously he was blushing. “they keep asking for a ‘sex on the beach,’ but when i give them the cocktail, they keep arguing that it’s not what they want, and.. they just— they tried to lick my hand. so, please?”

          lara  doesn't  bother  to  hide  the  face  they  made  when  he  explained  his  predicament  .  “  god  ,  i  thought  shit  like  that  happened  at  bars  in  new  york  ,  ”  she  jests  ,  in  an  attempt  to  lighten  the  mood  .  “  guess  it’s  a  universal  thing  ,  ”  they  shrug  ,  reaching  for  their  drink  .  “  but  to  answer  your  question  ,  sure  .  i’m  now  invested  .  what  do  they  think  is  in  a  ‘  sex  on  the  beach  ’  if  they  keep  arguing  that’s  not  what  they  want  ?  ”
